Top Ten Singers and Artists of Blue-Eyed Soul

Blue-eyed soul (or White Soul) is basically soul and R'n'B performed by white artists. I know there are so many; the ten I have chosen were the first which came to mind. Feel free to add a personal choice or vote for an existing favourite.

The Top Ten

1 Paul Butterfield Paul Butterfield

It's a genre that has been, admittedly, kept at arms distance from me, by me. I believe much of that is due to knowing 2 blues band bassists early on, and they both stating to me that they were pretty bored playing blues bass. This was confirmed by watching them perform live, they really seemed to be indifferent. It's only recently that I've come to realize what a great genre this, and all blues, truly is. This Butterfield cat is pretty good, thank you T. - Ned964

You're welcome! If it were not for somebody leading me gently into the amazing genre of Blues and such like, I would still be living on Cloud Coldplay! It's just nice to share it with someone else who appreciates it too. - Britgirl

2 Joe Cocker Joe Cocker John Robert "Joe" Cocker was an English singer and musician. He was known for his gritty voice, spasmodic body movement in performance and definitive versions of popular songs.

As usual, I had such a hard time choosing one. Cocker had such a soulful voice, and obviously shared his gift with us all in any live show. I would imagine it was much the same in the studio. - Ned964
