Top 10 Best Book Series to Read In Middle School

The Top Ten Best Book Series to Read In Middle School

1 Harry Potter series - JK Rowling

"Hogwarts will always be there, to welcome you home"

I am very confused.I am searching for another series for reading as I have finished my Harry Potter series

I finished this series, now I don't know what to do with my life. - PianoQueen

I just started Deathly Hallows, and I'm nervous to think about what to do once I finish it, haha. - Metarock

2 Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series - Rick Riordan
3 Middle School series - James Patterson
4 Hunger Games series - Suzanne Collins

Also read this trilogy in fifth grade(middle school) I highly recommend it. - PianoQueen

5 Warriors series - Erin Hunter

How is this not more popular than Harry Potter! I love these books!

Fantastic! Well written - my son loves these books and it really sparks his imagination!

How is this not in the top 5? This is my favorite book series!

Why is this below Twilight?

6 The Lord of the Rings series - J. R. R. Tolkien

My brother and I re-read this series every few years! Amazing world building and characters. I love this story.

Excellent read for my more advanced middle school students!

More of a high school series if you ask me. I've read the first book, it's rather tough to understand, but it's also a brilliant book. It's definitely a must read. - Metarock

Depends on your maturity level; Harry Potter is a children's book, The Lord of the Rings is very much a book for grownups.

7 Diary of a Wimpy Kid series - Jeff Kinney

Well I feel like this is more for elementary school.

It's good, but kinda overrated and it feels like a book for elementary school

8 Kane Chronicles series - Rick Riordan

I really feel like this is one of the more underrated series I've read. Everybody is always comparing it to the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series, and I will say that I do agree that I like those books more. However, the main reason for that is I've been with Percy and the others for 7 more books than I've been with Carter and Sadie. It's very close in my opinion though and when a trilogy is almost as good as a ten book series (or two series), that really says a lot.

9 Eragon series - Christopher Paolini

I love this series! It is one of the best, if you are interested in dragons like me. I highly reccomend you to read these books. They are the best!

10 Matched - Ally Condie

The Newcomers

? The Missing - Margaret Peterson Haddix

The Contenders

11 Keeper of the Lost Cities - Shannon Messenger
12 Twilight series - Stephenie Meyer

Why is twilight on here? THIS BOOK SUCKS

13 Pretty Little Liars - Sara Shepard

Those books are really intriguing and we don't know what happens next. Awesome series - BlueDiamondFromNowhere

COME ON! This is the best book serie ever. And Why is Twilight on the list? It's the worst and most overrated book ever made - PrettyLittleLiars_BiggestFan

14 The 39 Clues Series - Rick Riordan and others
15 Blue Is for Nightmares - Laurie Faria Stolarz

Intringuing, interresting, scary and funny at the same time. Really a good book to read - BlueDiamondFromNowhere

16 Redwall - Brian Jacques

Ought to be higher on the list, it's definitely my all-time favourite series. To anyone who hasn't read these books: you don't know what you're missing. These are some of the greatest books in existence.

I would recommend this series to most people in middle school and older-it is a huge part of my life and the best series I've ever read.

17 Bone - Jeff Smith
18 A Series of Unfortunate Events - Daniel Handler

A dark but amazing book series

19 The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

This is one of the best books ever. It is an exciting, sad, and amazing book. The movie is also amazing

20 The Mysterious Benedict Society

Mysteries, puzzles and intrigue. great read for middle schoolers.

21 Land of Stories - Chris Colfer

One of the best!

22 The Lying Game - Sara Shepard

The plot is cool and the drama is really interesting. Awesome - BlueDiamondFromNowhere

23 The Secret Circle - L.J. Smith

I watched an episode of "The Secret Circle" and I loved it. The T.V. show was based on books and the good seems good - BlueDiamondFromNowhere

I loved the T.V. show. It was based on a book. It seems pretty good - BlueDiamondFromNowhere

24 Hank the Cowdog - John R. Erickson
25 Absolutely Almost - Lisa Graff

This book is so inspiring. It is about a boy who is behind everyone else. He is always "almost" as good as his friend or almost as good as anything. It is about how he gets through school and life.
