Top Ten Most Boring Anime

The type of anime that makes you yawn before first episode finish. Or stop in halfway of watching.
The Top Ten
1 Pokemon

The story is always the same, in every season. The characters are unrealistic and they don't have character developments. Also you can skip 90% of each season and you still know what it is about.

An anime has gone on way too long but will probably never end. Same story, just with different pokemon and the occasional character swap. He's been the same, never aging 10 year old for years!

Pokemon is too repetitive with its seasons. Is Ash always going to lose the Pokemon League every single region he goes to? Guess I can blame the writers then.

The list have forgotten Power stone which is the most boring Anime ever.
But pokemon is boring always the same story and the same 3 silly characters: the ugly noob, the useless mary sue and the " girl for everything " which is doing all the things they don't do.

2 Vampire Knight Vampire Knight is a Japanese shōjo manga series written by Matsuri Hino. The series premiered in the January 2005 issue of LaLa magazine and officially ended in May of 2013. Chapters were collected and published in collected volumes by Hakusensha, concluding with nineteen volumes released in Japan.

It takes two seasons to finish one conversation.

I absolutely agree about the Anime it play the vampire angle nicely, and suckering everybody watching it for two seasons and it didn't even resolve the main storyline if you can follow it that is.

Better than Twilight, but still boring as hell.

All I got out of this is that blah blah vampires blah like other teen girls seriously I only watched because the name

3 Sword Art Online Sword Art Online is a series of Japanese light novels written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. In 2012, it received an anime adaptation produced by A-1 Pictures and the SAO Project, and is directed by Tomohiko Ito . The first season is divided into two arcs known as "Aincrad" and "Fairy Dance". It has also received a second season, titled Sword Art Online II.

Although this is polarizing in the anime community and it has its flaws, it is not really a boring anime series. At least there are epic action sequences, an awesome soundtrack and opening and ending songs, great animation, and an intriguing mix of genres filled with suspense across each season instead of just one. Besides, Log Horizon deserves to be called more boring due to its more predictable plot and substandard animation. Not to mention the comedy tries to exceed Sword Art Online's comedy, only to come off as cheap facial expressions that Hayao Miyazaki would dismiss as boring, because he hates cheap facial expressions. Not to mention an even bigger harem of girls and perhaps more bad fanservice than Sword Art Online.

Animation is good, fight scenes are cool just for a story its extremely lacking and left me with impression of lazy writing. Very fan service driven and I don't mean the pantsu kind. I mean the bowing to its fans. Kirito is completely unrelatable character with a set of random skill sets. From one moment he is a loner kid who can't make friends to a guy with 4 girls around him, who apparently is a high grade hacker who can bend the laws of the game to his will and is pro kendo master. Not saying its horrible...its just stupidly OP and gives no reason for it. I found it boring for those reasons. Like I said earlier, the action is good, just the story is boring and focus is seems lazy. Sword Art Online - A Quintin Tarantino understudy production.

How are Pokemon and Naruto below Sword Art Online? They are more slow-paced than Sword Art Online! And Sword Art Online manages to keep itself from getting too boring by fast-pacing itself. After all, it would be more boring if they did it by one floor for each episode rather than time skips. However, Sword Art Online is not boring at all to say the least.

How is this boring? This anime series has some of the best action, story, romance, and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat of each and every episode.

4 Amnesia Amnesia is a Japanese visual novel series by Idea Factory. It was first released on August 18, 2011 for PlayStation Portable, and then a fan disc in Japan, Amnesia Later, was released on March 15, 2012. Another sequel titled Amnesia Crowd was released on April 18, 2013. They were later combined for a PlayStation Vita release titled "Amnesia Later x Crowd V Edition" on October 16, 2014.

I like this anime but not as much as Naruto! I don't think this anime is the best because its really confusing...

No plot. The anime seemed to be just dragging on and on. The game was fun, but the anime just ruined it.

This anime had beautiful graphics, but the plot was so dull and booring. I couldn't even finish the anime.

The anime adaption was absolutely horrible. It was extremely boring.

5 Kissxsis

For a show that contains something as controversial and shocking as incest, the show is very tame, uninteresting, and the plot goes absolutely nowhere in the end. All the characters are boring with no development; the twin sisters both compete for the brother's attention, the brother is a hypocrite since he claims he's not into the whole incest thing but he does it anyway, a girl who's entire character is all just about peeing herself on accident, and every other minor character in the anime just brushes incest as not a big deal with the exception of the otaku school teacher. If a show makes you want to root for the antagonist more than you do for the protagonists, then something is awfully wrong.

6 No Game No Life No Game No Life is a surreal comedy that follows Sora and Shiro, shut-in NEET siblings and the online gamer duo behind the legendary username "Blank." They view the real world as just another lousy game; however, a strange e-mail challenging them to a chess match changes everything—the brother and sister are plunged into an otherworldly realm where they meet Tet, the God of Games. ...read more.

I just want to say that this anime is not boring.

7 Fairy Tail Fairy Tail is a manga franchise created by Hiro Mashima. The manga has been adapted into an anime series produced by A-1 Pictures and Satelight, which began broadcasting in Japan on October 12, 2009. Additionally, A-1 Pictures and Satelight have developed seven original video animations and an animated feature film, Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess. The series ended its initial run on March 30, 2013. A new series premiered on TV Tokyo on April 5, 2014.

All the Fairy Tail fans be like "Fairy Tail is love, Fairy Tail is life." What an even worse fan base than Sword Art Online. At least Sword Art Online actually has more epic action sequences and a less cliche character than Natsu. People say Kirito is bland when he actually is a kind, helpful, caring person who wants to protect those he love. Natsu is just another typical shonen hero who just uses fire. Not to mention that Lucy is plain useless while Asuna was at least badass for 14 episodes in the Aincrad arc (albeit temporarily turned into a damsel in distress for the second half of the series) and was able to create an endearing friendship with a girl with a terrible secret in the Mother's Rosario arc of the second season. Other than that, all the other characters are ridiculous and have a ridiculous plot (with only a few feels I can detect in the series at all).

This series makes Sword Art Online more fun to watch. The only plot I see in Fairy Tail is the fanservice. By the way, Fairy Tail does have ridiculous characters and has a ridiculous plot, with only a few strong females being an exception. It may not be the worst anime series, but it's not the best either.

It's too slow-paced and they never get anywhere by always doing that nakama crap in almost every episode.

Very dull characters and boring plot.

8 Oreimo

I tried to watch it due to its notoriety, but dropped it because I couldn't stay awake

9 Lucky Star Lucky star is an anime that first aired (april 8th, 2007 to September 16th, 2007) in Japan. The anime follows the daily lives of Konata Izumi, Kagami and Tsukasa hiiragi, and Miyuki Takura. The show is best known for the cute "moe" characters. The target audience is shouen.

The show just felt like a waste of time to me. When I watch a story in general I expect to have a plot or at the very least an anime with an interesting set of characters and a lot of comedy. This "anime" gives me neither. The whole plot of the "anime" is that a bunch of girls talks about random things and talks about them. But the characters are not interesting nor is the concept of the plot, if I can even call it a plot! And the "anime" doesn't take advantage of the simple plot to have character development nor effort in animation. It is such a lazy anime.

Okay, where do I start with this show? The OP song Is catchy, I love the graphic styles and the characters were adoreable. But everything else Is just, Wrong! It lacks plot, they discuss about how to eat various foods and their interests. They didn't even made It interesting. And K On, I used to like It. But I hate I for being a boring as hell

My brother loves this for some reason but then he likes anime with cutesy little girls, squeaky voices and pants. I tried to watch it, stuck it out for 5 episodes even but in the end I wanted to eat my own face because it was so boring. Give my Pokemon any day over this.

At first I thought the girls were cute and were about to do something but they were just talking about ways to eat food and things like that and it bored the crap out of me! I really need an award for watching the first 8 episodes without sleeping :P

10 Hiroo No Kakera

The usual cliche plot. I can guess what happen before the show ends. About a girl who has the power to save human and some good looking guy become her guard then battle begins with another group...

The Contenders
11 Free! Free! is a Japanese anime television series directed by Hiroko Utsumi and produced by Kyoto Animation and Animation Do.

I tried watching this anime because it seemed so popular and it seemed like everyone on the internet thought it was one of the best anime ever. It was a real treat when something interesting happened, even though that only happened like once in the ten episodes I sat through. I kept watching in hopes it would become more complex or interesting, but once it got to the point where I watched boys clean a pool for ten minutes, I had to stop./

All it is, is pretty boys that all look alike, splashing in water. Then some random crying scenes and "you can do its! " In every tournament.

What was the plot all about? Some swimming boys facing some sort of issues...What issues?

It's so boring.

12 Log Horizon Log Horizon is a Japanese novel series written by Mamare Touno and illustrated by Kazuhiro Hara, published by Enterbrain in Japan since 2011. Yen Press began publishing the novels in English translation in 2015.

In the blink of an eye, thirty thousand bewildered Japanese gamers are whisked from their everyday lives into the world of the popular MMORPG, Elder Tale, after the game's latest update—unable to log out. Among them is the socially awkward college student Shiroe, whose confusion and shock lasts only a moment as, a veteran of the game, he immediately sets out to explore the limits of his new reality. ...read more.

Not only is Log Horizon boring, but Log Horizon 2 is also boring as well. When people compare Sword Art Online to Log Horizon, also try to compare their sequels. Sword Art Online II has a great cyberpunk-mystery arc set in a VRMMORPG based on guns (that's right, guns, not just swords) where a new villain called Death Gun is out to kill players in-game to kill them in the real world and a new heroine is struggling with her dark past and immersing herself in the game to overcome her fear, a 4-episode Calibur arc to provide some relief from all the suspense from Phantom Bullet, and a tear-jerking Mother's Rosario arc that will bring just as much tears and feels at about the level of Clannad's sadness. If people still want to say Log Horizon is better than Sword Art Online, better think again, heartless people. Sword Art Online touches on all genres that ALL PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD can enjoy, and it actually executes them more good than people think. Whereas Log Horizon essentially seems ...more

You are not the only one who did not find it extremely boring! I know a lot of people say that Log Horizon is better than Sword Art Online, but actually, how is an anime series that is all about just being gamers considered greater than SAO? Shiroe may have more intelligence than Kirito, but a 23-year old college student who only plays Elder Tales as a mage and faces no threat of death is nothing compared to a dual wielding swordsman named Kirito who is fighting for his life to escape SAO and fighting with Asuna. Also, where is the romance?! Kirito and Asuna easily beat Shiroe and Akatsuki in romance. Beat that, Log Horizon weeaboos.

I'm sorry, and Imma let you finish, but Log Horizon is just straight down boring. How do people say this is even better than Sword Art Online. What a disappointing anime series considering Log Horizon is not even considered a rip-off, yet it just cannot bring in everyone around the world like Sword Art Online can. It seems only hardcore gamers (no offense) and Sword Art Online haters can love this show and just defend it more to death than Sword Art Online fans do, because they fail to see that even Log Horizon has its flaws as well.

Sword Art Online haters and Log Horizon lovers can defend Log Horizon all they want, but you wanna know why this anime series is vastly underrated? Because it's boring! When an anime is boring on the first episode, no one is going to want to continue to watch it unless they are one of those people who want to give it a chance. And Log Horizon is one of those anime series. Not to mention Shiroe's outfit is bland and generic. Even Kirito's Midnight Coat is more badass-looking than a simple mage outfit.

13 Naruto Naruto is an anime and manga franchise Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga was later adapted into a television anime, which was produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex. It premiered across Japan on the terrestrial TV Tokyo and other TX Network stations on October 3, 2002. The first series lasted 220 episodes, while Naruto: Shippuden, a sequel to the original series, has been airing since February 15, 2007. In addition to the anime series, Studio Pierrot has developed eleven movies and several original video animations. Other types of merchandise include light novels, video games, and trading cards developed by several companies.

Good show but man does it sap the motivation out of you. In Shippuden, I was unable to make it past the island training arc with the 8 tails. So dull.

If it stopped having filler episodes, it wouldn't be boring.

It needs non fillers, fun and fast pace and more comedy

Naruto is not boring why did you not put soul eater

14 Daily Lives of High School Boys

Really, it is most ridiculous anime that I have ever watch. Every episode has more nonsense than a five year old babbling!

What the hell! It doesn't have a plot but I don't care. This anime is really funny!

15 One Piece One Piece is a manga franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. The manga has been adapted into an original video animation (OVA) produced by Production I.G in 1998, and an anime series produced by Toei Animation, which began broadcasting in Japan in 1999 and has aired 851 episodes to date.

How is this number 39. Fairy Tail isn't always "boring." Gurren Lagann isn't boring at all. With Naruto, if you skip the filler, it's fine. Hell, SAO isn't boring; just bad. One Piece isn't just a bad anime, it's never going to end. When the universe implodes, all that will remain is the author writing more chapters of One Piece. If you like 800+ episodes of world building, this is the anime for you.

I love one piece so much it is the best of all

How dare you put one piece on here

16 Roll No. 21

Stupid! Stupid! And the worst you could find!

What. From when did this become an anime?

You find this an anime?

17 Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet

I couldn't get into this anime. I'm probably the only person who thinks it's boring

18 One Punch Man One-Punch Man is an ongoing, online, web comic, which was later adapted into a Manga and Anime series . Created by ONE in 2009, It gained popularity, and soon after, went viral in 2012, surpassing 7 . 9 million views . One-Punch Man (OPM for short) focuses on the protagonist Saitama (Who is named after the prefecture Saitama) as he goes on to find someone who has power even remotely close to his, all while teaching his Disciple Genos how to go stronger, and ranking up in the Hero Association .

sucks. The whole anime is just a bunch of wannabes getting defeated and then *surprise surprise* saitama shows up and defeats villain in one punch *TM*.

No seriously, that's it. Every season, every episode. Exactly what I said before. No character arcs, No world building, just a conveyor belt of baddies getting defeated by baldy without any rhyme.or reason.

IT WAS AN INTENTIONAL PARODY

The author just wants to show what happens when you get an intentionally OP character. Okay?! Okay.

Am the only person WHO HATES this anime.
I think it's nothing but a generic boring anime about a bald Mary Sue

19 Monster

This anime is actually VERY VERY good. It's 74 episodes long and every episode (Except probably 2 fillers) is related to the story. They might seem like side stories but they add up really well. Those who thought it was boring probably felt that the side stories were unnecessary. But honestly this is one f the best psychological anime/manga I've seen/read.

Completely overrated. All I heard was praise for this Anime. I was searching for an EXCITING Anime about a serial killer, and this is what was recommended to me. 74 episodes long, 70 episodes of complete boredom, with a strong finish.. I would never recommend this show to anyone

It may be slow-moving at first, but the anime is really close to the manga. The manga never stopped tricking me. I love it very, very much. It's a series ya gotta have patience with. But every character matters and if you love plots like that, then you'll love monster.

Slow and completely boring.. I honestly can't believe this show has such a huge following. I stuck all the way through because I was told that the ending was worth it, It most definitely wasn't.

20 K-On

Another Slice of Life Music Anime like With Lucky Star this has no plot but I found both to be quite enjoyable

Behold, the second and still as annoying version of Lucky Star

21 .hack//Sign

Very little way in the way of plot, almost no action, and stilted voice acting (at least in the English dub). You can watch five or six episodes between anything actually happening.

This series works actually the same way as Quentin Tarantion movies. At least in one way, which is that you have to pay attention to what the characters say at certain times.

No wonder Sword Art Online is more popular. This anime is probably the most boring VR anime ever.

I quit. I normally will watch it all, even if it's boring. But this... It sucks.

22 Ouran Highschool Host Club

I don't know why they say it's so good, it's boring!

Not boring at all! It's amazing!

23 God Eater God Eater is an anime adaptation of the God Eater video game series. It is animated by Ufotable and began airing on July 12, 2015 after a one-week delay.

Am I the only one who did not get bored of this, cause this anime seems very underrated. Getting undeserved hate for no reason. It has great fights that keep me invested into the anime.

It's just futuristic cyberpunk Attack on Titan mixed with Fate/zero. Ufotable should just stick to making Fate/zero and Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works.

Ufotable should just stick to making the Fate/stay franchise...

One word to describe Lenka: VIRGIN!

24 Powerpuff Girls Z Powerpuff Girls Z is a Japanese magical girl anime series directed by Megumu Ishiguro, based on the American animated television series The Powerpuff Girls. The anime is co-produced by Cartoon Network Japan and Aniplex and was animated and produced by Toei Animation, featuring character design by Miho Shimogasa who is also the character designer of Cutie Honey Flash and Ultra Maniac and one of the animation directors of the Sailor Moon original anime franchise. As production occurred in Tokyo, Japan, Craig McCracken who is the original creator of The Powerpuff Girls was not directly involved with the project. ...read more.

Yeah. Let's turn every cartoon into an anime like we did with PPGD. At least there's less panty shots.

25 Sakura Trick

Kissing without plot no emotions in it...WHAT HUH?!?!?! I'm sorry I can't hear your idiocy because SAKURA TRICK is on my telly! ¡ so now what! I am in loo ove with yuu I have a crush on her and I'm a straight girl so ya it's sooo funny cute and awesome so take your trash to yuus butthole you stupid idiots!

IDIOT! IDIOT! IDIOT!
You don't understand the meaning in this anime! THE CHARACTERS HAVE DEEP EMOTIONS! The kissing ADDS to the emotions! I don't know what you define as boring but you need some help with that

Kissing without plot, no emotions in it...
