The Finns are always more than happy to fight for their country and their freedom, no matter what. Kicking the Red Army during the Second World War was a big success, even though they lost a bit of their land. But it was a spiritual success and something to boost their morale for the future. Just look at the stats of how many Russians were killed in comparison to the Finns. They have a fighting spirit. It's also a saying in Finland: One Finn against ten Russians.
