Top Ten Butthole Surfers Songs that Deserve More Love

When talking about bands from the 80s and 90s, most people talk about the most popular bands from that era, such as Guns 'N' Roses, Nirvana, and Iron Maiden. The Butthole Surfers was a band that thrived in this era, having some of the most insane, absurd, chaotic songs ever recorded, rivaling even Ween in their craft for crazy tunes. Some of those songs have fallen under the radar amongst many fans. This, this list is to count down ten of the most underappreciated songs in their discography.
The Top Ten
1 The Lord is a Monkey

Despite being released on their most accessible album, this song still had that classic Butthole Surfers sound. This song is very groovy and funky, and although it is obscured by Pepper ( another great track), this song is worth checking out.

2 Blindman

This psychedelic mind bender is a prime example of the Butthole Surfers's creativeness and experimentation.

3 I Saw an X-Ray of a Girl Passing Gas

Despite its bizarre title, this song is actually pretty good. Hairway to Steven was the transition point that made The Butthole Surfers more accessible, and this track is one of the best on the album.

4 Goofy's Concern

This song is AWESOME. It has an insanely catchy guitar riff and overall it's quick, catchy, and fun.

5 Something

This song combines both catchy melodies and loud, psychedelic noise. It's a great song that is only two minutes long.

6 Dust Devil

Clocking in at eight minutes long, the song manages to keep you interested because of a heavy guitar riff and an overall awesome feel.

7 Dracula from Houston

This song is unusually unlike all other songs on this list. This song is closer to alternative rock you hear on the radio than something psychedelic and crazy. But it's a great song because it is EARWORM levels of catchy.

8 Dum Dum

This song hooks you in with a drum beat, and while it's rather tame compared to the other songs on this list, it's still a fun little song.

9 Whirling Hall of Knives

This song demonstrates how great and unique The Butthole Surfers are at making psychedelic and awe inspiring songs. While it's not a crazy song, it still offers a vibe that'll make you want to listen to this song on repeat.

10 Human Cannonball

It's crazy, it's catchy, and it's definitely psychedelic. This song is one of the best on Locust Abortion Technician, and for good reasons. It gets you pumped up, and lastly, it has great guitar work.
