Top 10 Cartoons that are Bad and Overrated

There are cartoons out there that aren’t very good and get more praise than they deserve. So let’s take a look at them.
The Top Ten
1 Pokemon Pokémon, abbreviated from the Japanese title of Pocket Monsters and currently advertised in English as Pokémon: The Series, is a Japanese anime television series, which has been adapted for the international television markets. It was first broadcast in Japan on April 1, 1997, in the United States on September 8, 1998.

The first few episodes of Season 1 were kinda good, after episode 14 it just got horrible when Pikachu for some reason won over a Raichu, shows how much people will defend that annoying pokemon!

Putting Steven Universe on the list...how can you say something so controversial but yet so brave
As for Pokemon, the games are 100% better, the show was bad since the beginning but at least it was so bad that it was good.

The first couple seasons where kinda good but then in Diamond and Pearl it went downhill.

The games are great, but the cartoon is, umm..

2 Steven Universe Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. The show's based around a young boy by the name of Steven Universe, who is a hybrid of a gem and a human. He lives with his gem friends, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl.

The animation's okay and it does try to handle some heavy material like Forrest Gump and like Forrest Gump, it happens to be very over-hyped.

3 Trollhunters

It's an ok show honestly, season 1 was kinda boring, but Season 2 was super exciting, I loved the episode where Steve and that nerd guy are main protanogists. I'm pretty excited for Season 3. I want to see more of my favourite character; Blinky.

Overrated? Lol no have you ever seen an active fandom with over-exposure of merch for this cartoon? It isn't hated, but it's not "overrated"

I don’t care if I have friends from my choir class in high school who are close friends with the voice actress of Claire! Trollhunters is an awful show that everyone should hate! It literally does nothing original! The characters are just stereotypes! Jim is the bland loser kid who becomes a hero, Toby is a cliché fat kid who’s friends with the main character, and Claire is a girl who starts out as just a bland love interest then becomes a straight up Mary Sue! I watched both seasons of the show. I don’t think there was a single episode that I liked. Some of them had good moments in them, but there wasn’t really a full on good episode. I’ll admit that the action is great and the animation is stellar for a Netflix cartoon. I just wish it had likeable characters and felt more original. There was also a ton of pacing issues. At times, it doesn’t know what it wants to do. I did a full review of the series if you want to check that out.

4 SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator the late Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is currently the most popular show on Nickelodeon, as well as the longest running show, running for 23 years, and is beginning its 13th season. The show revolves around a sea sponge called SpongeBob SquarePants and his adventures under the sea. The show is considered to be one of the best Nickelodeon and cartoon shows of all time.

I LOVE SpongeBob! By that, I mean I love the first three seasons of SpongeBob. The other seasons are trash. Everyone can agree that the show has gone downhill after the first movie, but after the second movie, people started liking it again. I honestly don’t understand why. I still think the newer episodes are pretty bad. I like Mimic Madness, though. That was actually a great episode. Other than that, the newer episodes just don’t have the same charm that the first three seasons had. Even the Broadway Musical feels like something that came from the first three seasons. I actually really enjoy the Broadway Musical. I really want to see it in person.

5 Scooby-Doo Scooby-Doo is an American animated franchise that originated with a television series created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, first airing in 1969. The show features a group of teenagers and their Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, who solve mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures. Over the years, the franchise has expanded to include various spin-offs, films, and merchandise. Scooby-Doo is often praised for its mix of comedy and suspense, and it has maintained enduring popularity for generations.

The cartoons are bad in my opinion, the movies are way better and more exciting.

The only good one is Mystery Incorporated! The rest suck!

It’s about a group of teens and their dog who go on adventures and solve mysteries. It gets really boring after a while. It is way too formulaic! You can always easily predict who the monster is! It’s ALWAYS the person they meet at the beginning! This happens over and over! Whenever they unmask the monster or whatever, it’s never a surprise! The best kind of twists are the ones we don’t see coming. Also, these characters seem to always think that these are real monsters even though they never are! After doing the same stuff all these years, shouldn’t they be used to this kind of stuff? I really don’t like Scooby-Doo. It’s very uninteresting.

6 Family Guy Family Guy is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter (Fat, Idiotic Dad) and Lois (Nagging Bitchy Wife), their children Meg (Socially Awkward Daughter) Chris (Fat, Idiotic Son), and Stewie (Sociopathic and Genuine Infant); and lastly Brian (Anthromorphic Pet Dog). The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, and exhibits much of its humor in the form of cutaway gags that often American culture. ...read more.

This is the worst adult cartoon that’s currently airing. I’ve actually always hated Family Guy. But I’ll admit that it had some funny moments. The modern episodes, however, are just absolutely unwatchable! The show mostly relies on shock humor and disgusting imagery! And yet, people still watch it. The characters are especially unlikeable! The worst character in the show is definitely Brian. I can’t think of a single positive thing to say about him. He’s a complete jerk and doesn’t care about what he does! There was one episode where he died, but then they brought him back two episodes later. I don’t know why people were upset when he died. This show has no redeeming qualities. It should just get cancelled. Worst adult cartoon ever.

7 Death Note Death Note is a Japanese television drama anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The show is centered around Light Yagami - a promising highschooler and aspiring detective with a strong sense of "justice".

To those of you who don’t think anime is a type of cartoon, look up the definition of a cartoon. This is a really dumb series. It’s about a teen named Light Yagami who finds a journal that allows him to kill anyone just by writing their name in. The concept alone is what got me to watch it. It sounded very interesting. But unfortunately, the show has some very bad writing. The characters have a change in personality just for the sake of the plot. It feels very forced. There are a ton of plot holes throughout. The characters are very unlikeable. Except Ryuk. He’s cool. I don’t get why people treat this as if it’s a masterpiece. Well, at least it’s better than the 2017 movie.

What are you talking about? Death note is considered one of the greatest anime ever. It has excellent writing, compelling characters and the most original plot ever. Plus L is a cutie :3

8 Dora the Explorer Dora the Explorer (2000 - 2019) is an American preschool educational animated TV series created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh, and Eric Weiner in which Dora goes on adventures with her friend, a monkey named Boots.

I'm just glad my mom didn't find this cartoon for my little sister to watch. I have Netflix, luckily there was Peppa Pig, a way better show that kids should watch in my opinion.

9 Teen Titans Go! 'Teen Titans Go!' is an American animated television series produced by Cartoon Network. The show follows a superhero group called the Teen Titans, and shows what happens when they go home and have silly adventures. This show is Cartoon Network's revival of the popular 2003-2006 American animated television show, 'Teen Titans'.

I know a lot of people hate this show, but the reason why I consider it overrated is because it has I think 4 seasons now and it hasn’t been cancelled yet. It’s even getting a theatrical movie this year. This has me believe that the show somehow has a fanbase. Honestly, Teen Titans Go is an insult to the original Teen Titans. The humor is very unfunny, the characters are unbearable, and it’s way too childish. I know the show is meant for kids, but there are a lot of kids shows out there that can be pretty clever and smart. This is not clever or smart. It’s just annoying. And it comes on WAY too much. How did it get a movie? I would say that I think the Teen Titans Go movie will be the worst movie of 2018, but then I have to remember that Fifty Shades Freed came out this weekend.

10 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an American 3D rendered computer animated television series based on the fictional superhero team. It aired on Nickelodeon in the United States from September 29, 2012 to November 12, 2017.
The Contenders
11 Beavis and Butt-head Beavis and Butt-Head is an American animated sitcom created and designed by Mike Judge. The series originated from Frog Baseball, a 1992 short film by Judge originally aired on Liquid Television.

Honestly, the only thing good about THIS show was the movie

12 The Amazing World of Gumball The Amazing World of Gumball is a British-Australian-German-American-Irish children's animated television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network.

I'm sorry, guys. I think that show is pretty bad for a couple reasons.

1. The characters.
I couldn't really tell their personalities and some of them are just stereotypes from other cartoons. I'm very sorry to tell you this; I just feel that there wasn't much character development.

2. The animation.
Yes, it was a very unique concept of mashing up different animation styles and putting them into a realistic background, but I have one question. Why do the 2D Flash animated characters HAVE to look rushed and poorly constructed? But the CGI rendering wasn't so bad.

3. The episodes (Post Season 4).
Even though I haven't watched a Gumball episode in ages, I found this one episode that's against fiction for absolutely no reason called "The Blame"; it was the worst of all Gumball episodes and I NEVER WANT TO SEE THAT ABOMINATION OF A SHOW AGAIN.

Yes, I may have a few good episodes, but I still sort of hate it. However there is ONE thing we can all agree ...more

13 The Loud House The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. Originally set to premier on January 2016, the series instead premiered on May 2, 2016, with the episodes Left in the Dark and Get the Message.

This mediocre show should've been on nick jr. That'll save the channel and the internet from hate.

14 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

Yeah, I had the balls to put this on the list. I don't hate it, but I think it is overrated - Gangem
