Top 10 Cartoons that are Bad and Overrated

There are cartoons out there that aren’t very good and get more praise than they deserve. So let’s take a look at them.

The Top Ten

1 Pokemon Pokemon Pokémon, abbreviated from the Japanese title of Pocket Monsters and currently advertised in English as Pokémon: The Series, is a Japanese anime television series, which has been adapted for the international television markets.

The first few episodes of Season 1 were kinda good, after episode 14 it just got horrible when Pikachu for some reason won over a Raichu, shows how much people will defend that annoying pokemon! - darthvadern

Putting Steven Universe on the can you say something so controversial but yet so brave
As for Pokemon, the games are 100% better, the show was bad since the beginning but at least it was so bad that it was good. - cjWriter1997

This cartoon only exists to sell merchandise. Throughout its existence, it has sold a bunch of toys, cards, plushies, and there was even that Pokémon Go app that no one plays anymore. I’ll admit I was actually guilty of playing that for a bit. Anyway, I don’t see what the big deal is. The Pokemon characters can be pretty cool I guess, but the human characters aren’t interesting at all. All the fight scenes feel the same. I also don’t really like the animation style. It’s just cartoon that was made to sell toys. There wasn’t even any effort put into it. Just feels way too repetitive. - MegaSoulhero

2 Steven Universe Steven Universe Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. The show's based around a young boy by the name of Steven Universe, who is a hybrid of a gem and a human. He lives with his gem friends, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl.

The animation's okay and it does try to handle some heavy material like Forrest Gump and like Forrest Gump, it happens to be very over-hyped.

I can't stand this cartoon... I really can't... - SomePersonYouHate

3 Trollhunters

It's an ok show honestly, season 1 was kinda boring, but Season 2 was super exciting, I loved the episode where Steve and that nerd guy are main protanogists. I'm pretty excited for Season 3. I want to see more of my favourite character; Blinky. - darthvadern

I don’t care if I have friends from my choir class in high school who are close friends with the voice actress of Claire! Trollhunters is an awful show that everyone should hate! It literally does nothing original! The characters are just stereotypes! Jim is the bland loser kid who becomes a hero, Toby is a cliché fat kid who’s friends with the main character, and Claire is a girl who starts out as just a bland love interest then becomes a straight up Mary Sue! I watched both seasons of the show. I don’t think there was a single episode that I liked. Some of them had good moments in them, but there wasn’t really a full on good episode. I’ll admit that the action is great and the animation is stellar for a Netflix cartoon. I just wish it had likeable characters and felt more original. There was also a ton of pacing issues. At times, it doesn’t know what it wants to do. I did a full review of the series if you want to check that out. - MegaSoulhero

4 SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is currently the most popular show on Nickelodeon, as well as the longest running show, running for 18 years, and is beginning its 11th season. The show more.

I LOVE SpongeBob! By that, I mean I love the first three seasons of SpongeBob. The other seasons are trash. Everyone can agree that the show has gone downhill after the first movie, but after the second movie, people started liking it again. I honestly don’t understand why. I still think the newer episodes are pretty bad. I like Mimic Madness, though. That was actually a great episode. Other than that, the newer episodes just don’t have the same charm that the first three seasons had. Even the Broadway Musical feels like something that came from the first three seasons. I actually really enjoy the Broadway Musical. I really want to see it in person. - MegaSoulhero

5 Scooby-Doo Scooby-Doo

The cartoons are bad in my opinion, the movies are way better and more exciting. - darthvadern

It’s about a group of teens and their dog who go on adventures and solve mysteries. It gets really boring after a while. It is way too formulaic! You can always easily predict who the monster is! It’s ALWAYS the person they meet at the beginning! This happens over and over! Whenever they unmask the monster or whatever, it’s never a surprise! The best kind of twists are the ones we don’t see coming. Also, these characters seem to always think that these are real monsters even though they never are! After doing the same stuff all these years, shouldn’t they be used to this kind of stuff? I really don’t like Scooby-Doo. It’s very uninteresting. - MegaSoulhero

6 Family Guy Family Guy Family Guy is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter (Idiotic Dad) and Lois (Nagging Wife), their children Meg (Socially Awkward Daughter) Chris (Idiotic Son), and Stewie more.

This is the worst adult cartoon that’s currently airing. I’ve actually always hated Family Guy. But I’ll admit that it had some funny moments. The modern episodes, however, are just absolutely unwatchable! The show mostly relies on shock humor and disgusting imagery! And yet, people still watch it. The characters are especially unlikeable! The worst character in the show is definitely Brian. I can’t think of a single positive thing to say about him. He’s a complete jerk and doesn’t care about what he does! There was one episode where he died, but then they brought him back two episodes later. I don’t know why people were upset when he died. This show has no redeeming qualities. It should just get cancelled. Worst adult cartoon ever. - MegaSoulhero

7 Death Note Death Note Death Note is a Japanese television drama series based on the manga series of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The show is centered around Light Yagami a promising highschooler and aspiring detective with a strong sense of "justice".

To those of you who don’t think anime is a type of cartoon, look up the definition of a cartoon. This is a really dumb series. It’s about a teen named Light Yagami who finds a journal that allows him to kill anyone just by writing their name in. The concept alone is what got me to watch it. It sounded very interesting. But unfortunately, the show has some very bad writing. The characters have a change in personality just for the sake of the plot. It feels very forced. There are a ton of plot holes throughout. The characters are very unlikeable. Except Ryuk. He’s cool. I don’t get why people treat this as if it’s a masterpiece. Well, at least it’s better than the 2017 movie. - MegaSoulhero

8 Dora the Explorer Dora the Explorer Dora the Explorer (2000 - 2015) is an American educational animated TV series created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh, and Eric Weiner in which Dora goes on adventures with her friend, a monkey named Boots.

I'm just glad my mom didn't find this cartoon for my little sister to watch. I have Netflix, luckily there was Peppa Pig, a way better show that kids should watch in my opinion. - darthvadern

And I thought Ariel was a bad role model. Actually, Ariel’s still worse. This isn’t the kind of show that I would want my kids to be watching. They say it’s a great educational show, but it honestly makes kids stupid. The way she talks to the audience really gets on my nerves. This cartoon doesn’t really challenge kids. There would usually be something behind her and she would have the audience point it out. Even as a very little kid I felt insulted by that. Why does Swiper suddenly stop swiping when he is told not to? That doesn’t work in real life! And they’re making a live action movie for some reason! I don’t see how that’s gonna work. The talking objects and talking monkey interacting with a little girl is cute in a cartoon but would probably be creepy in live action! There’s also gonna be a live action Kim Possible movie! Didn’t people only watch that show because of how insanely hot Kim was? I feel like a real life actress won’t be able to have that same ...more - MegaSoulhero

9 Teen Titans Go! Teen Titans Go! 'Teen Titans Go!' is an American animated television series produced by Cartoon Network. The show follows a superhero group called the Teen Titans, and shows what happens when they go home and have silly adventures. This show is Cartoon Network's revival of the popular 2003-2006 American animated television more.

I know a lot of people hate this show, but the reason why I consider it overrated is because it has I think 4 seasons now and it hasn’t been cancelled yet. It’s even getting a theatrical movie this year. This has me believe that the show somehow has a fanbase. Honestly, Teen Titans Go is an insult to the original Teen Titans. The humor is very unfunny, the characters are unbearable, and it’s way too childish. I know the show is meant for kids, but there are a lot of kids shows out there that can be pretty clever and smart. This is not clever or smart. It’s just annoying. And it comes on WAY too much. How did it get a movie? I would say that I think the Teen Titans Go movie will be the worst movie of 2018, but then I have to remember that Fifty Shades Freed came out this weekend. - MegaSoulhero

10 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I have nostalgic feels for the newset show. - darthvadern

I’ve never really been a fan of anything that has to do with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Except for that live action movie from 1990. That was pretty good. This recent cartoon just didn’t catch my interest. I’ve seen a few episode and I got bored during them. The humor was weak and even some of the action felt underwhelming. I guess it’s mostly for fans of the Ninja Turtles franchise. For me, I didn’t really find myself enjoying it. - MegaSoulhero

The Contenders

11 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

Yeah, I had the balls to put this on the list. I don't hate it, but I think it is overrated - Gangem
