Top 10 Cartoons that Have Gotten Worse

The Top Ten
1 Family Guy Family Guy is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter (Fat, Idiotic Dad) and Lois (Nagging Bitchy Wife), their children Meg (Socially Awkward Daughter) Chris (Fat, Idiotic Son), and Stewie (Sociopathic and Genuine Infant); and lastly Brian (Anthromorphic Pet Dog). The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, and exhibits much of its humor in the form of cutaway gags that often American culture. ...read more.

While Spongebob has somewhat recovered from its fall in quality, Family guy continues to worsen more and more as it goes on.

Spongebob is at least sort of trying to recover from its decline this show is not. Everything about it is so unlikeable

Martin from Adventure Time is a worse dad than Peter, but that show rocks and this show sucks.

2 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

I don't trust that article that I found on Google saying that Chloe's parents are the reason that I should start watching The Fairly OddParents again. If anything, THEY'RE the reason I should stop watching it and the reason I should send a letter to Butch Hartman saying that the show isn't as good as it used to be. Now while I don't really hate Chloe as much as I used to when I learned that the reason she needs fairy godparents is because she can't make friends due to her perfectionism, in turn making her miserable, the point that still remains is that she made the show go downhill, especially now that the show revolves more around her than Timmy himself. I really want to like Chloe, but I just can't since it feels like the writers are trying too hard to get me to like her. At this rate, The Fairly OddParents won't be showing any signs of recovering from its decline in quality anytime soon unlike SpongeBob SquarePants. - ModernSpongeBobSucks

While the Loud House has always been great and gets better each season, Sanjay and Craig started mediocre then became actually quite good, and SpongeBob started excellent, became garbage and made a near-full recovery, FOP just gets worse... Seriously, this show reaches Family Guy levels of seasonal rot, and beyond! It shelves old characters in favor of crappy new ones (though Poof was okay), gives Crocker and Timmy's Dad too much focus, everyone becomes both dumber and crueler each episode (yes, even Wanda) and Chloe was a Parody Sue who was played WAY too straight. Since it's likely not getting an eleventh season (partially due to this and Butch Hartman leaving Nick), this is what we call a mercy kill. - Goatworlds

GUYS! GUYS! I just learned that new episode premieres of The Fairly OddParents have now been moved to Nicktoons! Knowing how most shows transferred to Nicktoons usually die out, maybe The Fairly OddParents can finally die out and end its reign of seasonal rot! - ModernSpongeBobSucks

They recently added a ten year old girl to the show to share Cosmo and Wanda with Timmy. This is the THIRD TIME they've added a pointless new character in a last ditch effort to keep the show popular.

3 Teen Titans Go! 'Teen Titans Go!' is an American animated television series produced by Cartoon Network. The show follows a superhero group called the Teen Titans, and shows what happens when they go home and have silly adventures. This show is Cartoon Network's revival of the popular 2003-2006 American animated television show, 'Teen Titans'.

I remember I used to like it when I first watched it. Hell, my sister and even my mother liked it when an episode of it came on. Nowadays, I just look back and think to myself, "I used to like this? " What makes me think about that question even more is how my sister and mom liked the episode where Starfire had a disgusting talking zit that transformed into a giant spider alien or whatever. The only good part about that episode was the spider alien crushing all the Titans (since they were all buffoons in that episode, though Robin was surprisingly the only one with common sense since he knew the zit was evil). - ModernSpongeBobSucks

The first few episodes are pretty lousy, but it has improved as it has gone on.

I thought everyone hated this.

4 The Simpsons The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening that originally started on April 19, 1987 as shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show. It got its own series on December 17, 1989 and is still running as of 2023, making it the longest running animated sitcom. It is about a man named Homer Simpson and his family (wife Marge and children Bart, Lisa and Maggie and pets, Snowball II and Santa's Little Helper) going through a long series of misadventures.

Entertaining, but not quite the juggernaut it once was. Quite frankly, the show has overstayed it's welcome for over a decade or so and needs to be cancelled as soon as.

Needed to end before the turn of the millennium

No you are bored. Change the channel and shut up.

5 Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog is an American animated series produced by DiC Animation City and Bohbot Entertainment that was based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series produced by Sega.

This show has an anime spinoff made in Japan, three specials, a movie in theatres, and a reboot. The show aired from 1998 to 2005.

Don't get me started on the reboot series, okay? The reason why this show is on the list is because of those god awful seasons 5 and 6, which were made by Chris Savino, the man from hell who made the Loud House.

7 Phineas and Ferb Phineas and Ferb is an American animated comedy-musical television series. Originally broadcast as a one-episode preview on August 17, 2007 and again previewed on September 28, 2007, the series officially premiered on February 1, 2008 and ended on June 12, 2015 on Disney Channel, and follows Phineas Flynn and his British stepbrother Ferb Fletcher on summer vacation.

Phineas and Ferb remained a great show until it's end.

It was great until its second episode, then we realized it was repetitive and overrated.
Glad it ended.

It got deeper and I stopped watching it.

10 SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator the late Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is currently the most popular show on Nickelodeon, as well as the longest running show, running for 23 years, and is beginning its 13th season. The show revolves around a sea sponge called SpongeBob SquarePants and his adventures under the sea. The show is considered to be one of the best Nickelodeon and cartoon shows of all time.

Actually, it's getting better, ever since the sequel movie, Stephen Hillenburg came back, and with original writers again, the show is healing back to health.

Now the Fairly OddParents, on the other hand, is getting MUCH worse, and it's pretty much impossible to watch now.

I agree when I was a kid I loved this show but now iv'e gotten older and realized how stupid is is getting

I love SB, but the episodes have started to suck a few years back. Oh well. Long live the Sponge - I guess?

It's always been good.

The Contenders
11 The Amazing World of Gumball The Amazing World of Gumball is a British-Australian-German-American-Irish children's animated television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network.

How and why is this on the list? This show has remained hilarious over the years, and I still love it! If you ask me, the shows gotten better.

It was fine until Season 5. Then it really took a turn in terms of its cast, personality, and stories. Ben Bocquelet says he plans to end it after Season 6.

I never particularly liked this show to begin with. The style is creative, but it's just not funny to me.

Why is Gumball getting worse? Whoever put this should think twice of hurting my feelings!

12 Pokemon Pokémon, abbreviated from the Japanese title of Pocket Monsters and currently advertised in English as Pokémon: The Series, is a Japanese anime television series, which has been adapted for the international television markets. It was first broadcast in Japan on April 1, 1997, in the United States ...read more.

I can't stand how this cartoon is still going after 20 years. It seems like even the actors are getting bored of having to come back. And each season will consist of the same boring plots. Preparing for a big battle, meet new friends, fight Team Rocket, go into tournament, lose. That's one season. And each new series gets worse and worse. Once we got to Black and White, the series really lost its fun. XY had to be the worst series to date. And Sun and Moon...well...it's just...meh. Point is, they can make as many games as they want, but their popularity is being crushed by the anime.

13 The Loud House The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. The series revolves around the chaotic suburban everyday life of a boy named Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters, to which he survives as the middle child and only son in a large family of eleven children. Originally set to premier on January 2016, the series instead premiered on May 2, 2016, with the episodes Left in the Dark and Get the Message.

I used to love the Loud House when it first premiered, but ever since season 2 of the show premiered, I actually started to hate the show entirely. No surprise, since the show's creator is responsible for the seasonal rot era of Dexter's Laboratory and the original Powerpuff Girls. Every time I watch a new episode of the Loud House, I actually THREW something at the T.V.. It angered me THAT badly. I could honestly just KILL the person who made this show.

14 Regular Show Regular Show is an American animated television series created by J. G. Quintel for Cartoon Network that premiered on September 6, 2010. The series revolves around the lives of two friends, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby—both employed as groundskeepers at a local park.

Why is this show on the list?!

They travel on adventures and help others around Equestria while solving problems that arise in their own friendships.

Men bronies destroyed the show's repetition.

No, just the fans.

18 South Park South Park is an American adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network. The show is about four boys, who are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, and their adventures in South Park, Colorado.

The show has remained awesome throughout the the years their worst season was probably the first season

19 Arthur

The show is about a kid scientist named Dexter that has a sister named Dee Dee that keeps breaking into his lab.

Chris Savino has ruined Dexter's Laboratory from seasons 3 to 4. THAT is why Dexter's Laboratory is on the list.

This show just keeps getting worse and worse

Grojband was good from beginning to end.

None of the seasons were good in my opinion.

Every new episode of Total Drama sucks.
