Goku is a bland character. Can't relate to him at all. Vegeta, on the other hand, went through hell being raised by psychos and surrounded by destruction since childhood. He only wanted a wish to be immortal to defeat Frieza. So what if he's trying to save his own ass? That's how he was raised; kill or be killed. But he learned from all his failures and even though his pride got crush over and over, he kept going. He's still determined to be the very best. He never gives up (no matter how much Toriyama wants to shut on him). And of course, Vegeta is the better father and husband after he finally admitted to himself that he has a heart. Vegeta went through major character development.He cares about his family unlike Goku who always leaves them. Nobody cares about Uub and yet Goku just had to leave to train that irrelevant character because he's a fight addict. Vegeta didn't want to go to training with Whis because Bulma was about to have a baby. Goku just said gleefully that he was absent for Goten's birth. He needs to grow up. Vegeta arrived at Earth as a villain and he ended up being such a great character. He even regretted the namek massacre in Dbs manga. He's changed completely.

Actually it is a good thing that Vegeta never got a chance to be a spotlight. That pathetic bastard only thinks about himself and even then those fools want him to be the face of dbz. Even when Goku endured with Vegeta's hatred and showed even then fans want him to be the face of dbz. Don't worry their wish for that pathetic loafer to be face of dbz for they were characterless people.

The only one good enough to be The Great Goku's successor. I wouldn't mind if Gohan were the face of DBZ, he deserves it. Goku did pass the torch to him in Cell saga.

I honestly think Future Trunks makes a great argument for a protagonist for his own show. He's a likeable character (Unlike when portrayed in Xenoverse part of the way through) who has had his own hardships and growths. Vegeta would be interesting but I find his recklessness unfitting for THE main character as the face. I love Vegeta and all but he'd always be a co-star to me. His son is much more fitting in my eyes.

Better choice if it's not Vegeta.
