Charlie may not have a Hall of Fame career, but as a man he's a good will ambassador to the game he loved. When his playing career ended, his greatness only got started as a manager for the Cubs. In 1932, he replaced Rogers Hornsby and became temporary manager of the team, but that would change as he led the team to a 37-18 finish and won 90 games and won the National League pennant and in the process became a pernament manager of the team, and before his manager career ended, he led the Cubs to 2 more pennants and a place in Chicago lore.
