At age 10 she sang with a voice and a style like an adult star singer. Without example. So good that many listeners couldn't believe it. - ohcnave
The most breathtakingly beautiful voice I've ever heard from a child. Jackie was a recognized prodigy with an innate understanding of music and natural interpretive skills that gave her the ability to perform in several genres and in foreign languages -Italian, French, Japanese and Latin. She has always performed with authentic emotion and skillful finesse.
At age 10, youngest solo artist in US chart history to have a Platinum and #2 album. Also had another #2 album that went gold at age 11, and one that hit #7 at age 12.

I'm in general not fan of Child Singers, but this one is an exception. I think everyone on this site now knows by now that I'm a huge Psychedelic music fan, so I am so impressed that this man made one of the most unique Psychedelic albums of the 1960s, when he was just 16. The album is a Psychedelic/Ethereal masterpiece. The album is also ahead of it's time, for having a couple of songs, which have an uncanny similarity to Radiohead. Which is amazing, this kid managed to make something which sounds so alike to Radiohead around 30 years before Radiohead even released Ok Computer. The vocal patterns on those songs are also very similar, to Thom Yorke's vocal patterns as well. The rest of the album is also amazing as well great, and very creative Psych Rock is how you describe all of J.K & Co. Suddenly One Summer. It's crazy how he was able to make an amazingly good, and ahead of it's time Psychedelic album at just 16. When I was 16 I was making unfunny Meme Mix Tapes on Soundcloud, the ...more - RogerWatersfan1999
Lead singer of the Jackson 5 at 11 years old, although the J5 never had an album go higher than #4, and his solo album back then "Ben" peaked at #5, but there were some #1 singles. Had his first #1 album, "Thriller" at age 23.
To the commenter who called him "the man", this particular list is strictly about an artists "child" career; age 15 and under.
Best singer in my opinion, he is just amazing

At age 14, he joined a local band in Liverpool called the Quarrymen, which was headed up by his older buddies, John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
Never heard of him.
Child singer? No.
Never really heard by US audiences, but as a UK star in the early 60's, she once had the Beatles opening for her. They possibly wrote "Misery" for her to sing, but her management rejected it.
A very sad, cautionary tale. Nationwide stardom and several top 20 hits at age 15; dead of a heroin overdose at age 25.
One of the top 5 greatest singers in history!
I'm sorry he beats MJ for best child singer
Strictly a Disney-created flavor of the month about 10 years ago. Disney dropped him like a hot potato once he was no longer "cute".

Mostly famous for singing "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas", in 1953, and in 1954 she actually got one, then immediately donated it to the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Was not a professional musician until age 18, but played a minor role in a couple of excellent albums by the folk group New Christy Minstrels at ages 19-20. When he heard The Beatles on Ed Sullivan, he quit folk to become a rocker, achieving mega stardom with The Byrds at age 21. His lifelong battle with drugs and other emotional demons made him a phenomenal songwriter, but tragically took him away from us.
I WONDER WHOM ADDED THIS - Puga
Who added my princess?
Youngest female musician to write, produce, and perform a Billboard #1 single, at age 17.
Managed to parlay her childhood stardom into a successful Broadway career.
Her amazing talent was recognized as early as age 3, but due to an abusive mother, did not enter a major music conservatory until age 14.
The Yodeling Kid!? - Ananya
I love both Johnny and Mackenzie's songs especially Day and Night and Teamwork
Mackenzie and Johnny are both very talented!
Long before she became a worldwide opera star as an adult, she appeared in a 1930's movie, billed as an "8 year old sensation", but in reality was about 11-12 years old.
Record it's my party when she was 16 and it hit number 1 and you don't own me when she was just 17 ( and you know what I mean) she hit number 2 but the beatles over took her number 1 spot - scoopoo
Lead singer of The Boxtops with a #1 hit single "The Letter" at age 16, though he looked older.
They are the best
Get her off the list! - Ananya
Had a #4 solo album and #1 single at age 14, a record at the time.
Very beautiful, and based on that, has been the beneficiary of fully-manufactured Disney stardom, complete with professionally written songs and the finest auto-tune equipment money can buy.
As a child, was more well-known for her great instrumental abilities, although she did sing. Her singing voice really came into its own when she became an adult.
Sickest child singer/rapper ever, he has more talent that Freddy Mercury and Michael Jackson combined. Am I funny now?
Are you serious? I've never heard his songs, but there is NO WAY he is more talented than Freddie Mercury or Michael Jackson were, let alone both of them combined. - allamassal
At just 14 years old he sung 'Tomorrow' for the band 'Silverchair' which went on to become #1 in Australia and a worldwide hit. I thought his singing in the original studio recording was good, but when I heard the band perform the song live at the MTV music video awards in 1995 in New York City, I was completely blown away by the power and passion in his voice, it sounded phenomenally better than the studio version.
