Top 10 Cities with the Best Sports Fans

The Top Ten
1 Chicago Chicago, officially the City of Chicago, is the third-most populous city in the United States. With over 2.7 million residents, it is also the most populous city in both the state of Illinois and the Midwestern United States. Chicago is considered one of the most important business centers in the world... read more

Chicago is obviously the best sports city from Wrigley to us cellular/comiskey. Cubs fans consistently attend games and support their team no matter how bad they are. White sox fans are very passionate especially when they see a cubs fan. Bulls games are very exciting. With the madhouse on Madison rocking, you can't hear yourself think. Even though the Chicago stadium isn't around anymore, which was arguably one of the loudest and best atmospheres to be in as a fan. The hawks games are killer with the signature national anthem that gets loud cheers throughout. Bears fans are easily some of the best since they brave the freezing weather to support their team every game. All Chicago athletes will tell you that the fans are amazing since we are always loud and present. The hawks have had 200+ sellouts in a row. Not to mention that at most games on the road the other team's stadium contains mostly Chicago fans. Need I say that a few years ago the bulls received mvp chants at away stadiums as well. Chicago fans aren't confined to Chicago, they are all over the US making Tue most hostile environment more welcoming to our teams.

2 New York The City of New York, often called New York City or simply New York, is the most populous city in the United States. New York City is also the most densely populated major city in the United States.

In no other city is a fan so hard in their players because we want them to do well so bad. The Yankees have spoiled us the last 17/18 years but man, the day the Knicks win their 1st chip in 40 years will be a day I never forget. The Rangers have won 1 Stanley Cup in the last 73 years, but we still stick with them every year because they're our teams. No city cares more about sports than we do... And I'd bet on that. LET'S GO YANKEES KNICKS RANGERS!

We have the best fanbase. If you go to a giants, jets, Yankees, Knicks, etc game dealing with New York, you can see we want our team to win. I went to a Knicks game a few months ago and they sucked this year, but you could see that we wanted them to win. They lost".

3 Cleveland

Denver & Cleveland are my two favorite cities but Cleveland fans are some of the most loyal fans you will find. I have family in Ohio and they are always wearing there Indians' or Browns' jerseys. It doesn't matter if they go 0-16 or lose the World Series, they won't leave Cleveland.

When you have places like Detroit, New York, and Green Bay over Cleveland it's hard to take this list seriously. In my opinion, Cleveland fans are top 3 at least top 5.

Great fan turnout with poor team results. Owners and management should be ashamed to have Cleveland fans.

4 Detroit Detroit is the largest and most populous city in the U.S. state of Michigan. Located across from Windsor, Ontario, Canada on the Detroit River, Detroit had an estimated population of 672,662 in 2018.

Detroit fans are the best in the world! We're blue-collar, hard working people, and we expect our sports teams to be the same. We're extremely loyal and dedicated to our teams! If you haven't been to a game in Detroit, surrounded by all the fans, you haven't been to a real game.

Should be number one honestly...Four Major Sports Three Competitive. (hockey town) biggest college football stadium (ann arbor)

All 4 teams have experienced success, (Lions: BEFORE the Super Bowl) and our fans have always been there to root them on, especially in hockey (Hockeytown)

5 Boston Boston is Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Founded in 1630, it’s one of the oldest cities in the U.S.

Boston has true fans as do Chicago too. Whenever the Celtics play the Bulls it is an intense rivalry however it is respected. Saying they are true fans brings me to mention New York. Too many band-wagon fans that know nothing about the Yankees but still represent the team by wearing their hat. If you hate New England Fans, think first; in baseball, we hate the Yankees; in basketball we hate the Lakers (and Heat cause of Ray... Smh); in hockey we hate the Canadians; and in football... Well we don't like many teams but mostly the Giants.

6 Philadelphia Philadelphia is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the sixth-most populous city in the United States, with an estimated population of 1,567,872 and more than 6 million in the seventh-largest metropolitan statistical area, as of 2016. Philadelphia is the economic and cultural anchor... read more

Passions, you want passionate fans? This is Philly. Hated by others for the exact reason that makes them the best sports fans in the world. Philadelphia fans will be there for their teams regardless of their record-- when good they'll cheer, when bad they'll boo. These fans are an extension of their team. They're real.

Boston Sucks, New York Sucks, Chicago sucks and the other cities aren't even worth writing that they suck (I.E. Pittsburgh). Philly fans rule most intense, loyal, loudest, and dedicaded fans in the WORLD!

7 Green Bay

Packers have an amazing fan base. They're the only team in all of Major North American Sports to be owned by the fans. Also, the Packers have sold out every single home game since 1960. That's 80,000 fans a game from a city with a population of only 100,000. Also their season ticket waiting list is over 110,000 people. If you get on the list, you surely wont get season tickets in your lifetime.

The Green Bay Packers are simply the best sports franchise on the face of the Earth. Owned by its fans. No other organization can say this. How much closer can you get to your team?

8 Kansas City

Royals. 800,000 people at a parade! Chiefs!, Sporting KC! Even something for the NASCAR enthusiast. Great college basketball in and around town, not to mention the Big12 and NAIA tourneys and the College Basketball HOF. The amazing Negro League Baseball Museum. Next year the National Championships of skating and probably another World Series championship. We could go on and on...

The Chiefs and Royals fanbases are some of the most passionate fans around just like imagine waiting so long for a Super Bowl and World Series supporting the Chiefs and Royals through thick and thin. It's been rough at times but we remain loyal

9 Denver Denver, officially the City and County of Denver, is the capital and most populous municipality of the U.S. state of Colorado.

Avalanche! Rapids! Broncos! The other teams aren't as wonderful at the moment but they get wonderful fan support as well.

Bronco fans are the best! Sold out stadium for years! Always a fun place to go

10 Liverpool Liverpool is a city and metropolitan borough in Merseyside, England. As of 2018, the population is approximately 494,814.

The English are fanatics like no other. -1 to Philly, their fans are just plain disrespectful.

The Contenders
11 Dallas
12 Buffalo Buffalo is the second largest city in the U.S. state of New York and the largest city in Western New York.

Granted it's one of the smallest markets in all of sports, but anybody who grew up with the Sabres or the Bills will tell you that it's more than just a part of our culture. Those teams are a part of our soul.

Gritty, Tough, Never give up after all these years.

No other city is close to Buffalo fans.

13 Los Angeles Los Angeles, officially the City of Los Angeles and often abbreviated as L.A., is the largest city in California. It has an estimated population of nearly 4 million, and is the second-largest city in the United States, after New York City, and the third-largest city in North America, after Mexico City... read more
14 Pittsburgh Pittsburgh is a city in the western part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania and the second most populated city in the state.

Steelers, Pens, Bucs! I could talk about how awesome they are but this is amount the fans of Pittsburgh. Being a Pitt guy that lives in the south, I do not get to go to many home games, like when I was young. I have seen my teams on the road though, and I've got to say Pittsburgh travels well. Especially the Steelers. I went to a Steelers-Titans game in Nashville last year and it was easily 2 to 1 in favor of Steelers fans. It was a home game. The game in Jerry World 2 years ago was almost 50/50 in the heart of Cowboy country. AMAZING! Pens fans travel really well, also. Bucs have been bad for a while but the fans have been loyal and well deserving of last years success. Finally!

Here we go Steelers!
Let's go Bucs!
Let's go Pens!

15 Reykjavík
16 St Louis St. Louis is an independent city and inland port in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is situated along the western bank of the Mississippi River, which marks Missouri's border with Illinois.

We take pride in all our team no matter what, where can you go that does the same. We live and breath sports and we don't buy our way to the top. We have some of the greatest players of all time. Thanks to all the amazing support they get from use fans!

17 New Orleans
18 Seattle Seattle is a seaport city on the west coast of the United States. It is the seat of King County, Washington.

Easy to root for your team when they're winning, but much harder when the chips are down. Seattle fans pass the loyalty test! Seahawks, Mariners, Sounders, Storm, PLUS all the transplants who remain classy when their home teams come to town!

With the fields so close to downtown and huskie stadium within walking distance. Seattle is the best!

If you're basing off loyalty... Seattle wins by a land slide. Mariners don't get as much loyalty for some reason, I agree that I'm not that into them, even when they were pretty good. But sonics, sounders, storm, and seahawks fans, gone through some tuff times. Even when they're doing bad, hawks and all them, tickets get sold out quick, AND NOW WE WON THE SUPER BOWL HAHAAHAA #Winning #HawkDynasty #HAHA #FINALLY
