Top 10 Best Cities in California

The Top Ten
1 San Francisco San Francisco, officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California.

Great public transport and tons of tourist attractions, but traffic is atrocious. Living prices are absolutely outrageous, and there are homeless people wherever you look.

It's a fun city to visit. It has character and a lot to do. But it's also expensive, has bad politics, and many homeless/weird people.

2 Los Angeles Los Angeles, officially the City of Los Angeles and often abbreviated as L.A., is the largest city in California. It has an estimated population of nearly 4 million, and is the second-largest city in the United States, after New York City, and the third-largest city in North America, after Mexico City... read more

This should be first. San Francisco is awesome but so cold. Los Angeles has beaches, nice weather, celebrities. It's great for show business. It has awesome amusement parks and much more.

Fun city to visit. Always very lively. But tons of traffic, expensive, and kinda gross.

Los Angeles is the heart of California!

3 San Diego

Best weather ever, no smog, beautiful mountains, and really really safe!

4 Sacramento

It's okay. It's in the middle so you are near things. You are near the Bay, and you can go to Lake Tahoe. It just gets really hot in the summer.

5 San Jose
6 Fresno

Many people say Fresno is a trash city with dumb people, and they are right. But I think it is a native thing. If you grow up in Downtown or on the West Side, then yes, it is pretty crappy. But living anywhere else, it is a fairly moderate city, I would say. There is a bit more crime than a city our size should have, and we do have a homeless problem, but other than that, it is a cool city. Most people have a "If you're cool with me, I'm cool with you" attitude. It is very diverse, having large Hmong, Armenian, and Hispanic communities. We are between San Francisco and L.A., so you hear slang and see culture from both of those areas.

Honestly, there is not much to say about Fresno. The city has its pros and cons, but that kind of depends on where you are. It is a good place to visit, but you might want to think hard on whether you want to live here or not. I love the place and do not plan on leaving, but many people will understand why if you do not feel the same way.

7 Huntington Beach

Snobby but nice enough town in Orange County. It's pretty, good luck affording it.

8 Oakland Oakland is the largest city and the county seat of Alameda County, California, United States. A major West Coast port city, Oakland is the largest city in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, the third largest city overall in the San Francisco Bay Area, the eighth most populated city in... read more
9 Long Beach

Long Beach is, like, the best city to live in. We have really nice people, pleasant weather, and clean oceans. We also have some awesome sea life!

It looks like a really good city.

It's kind of hood, near L.A. It has a big boat and a good chicken restaurant.

I was born in Hayward, plus it's near the Bay Area, so I basically am a Bay Area girl. Now I live in a boring city east of Hayward. I want to come back to Hayward.
