Top 10 Cities that Deserve an XFL Team in the Future

So the XFL is here... and so far so good. This new league is overall much better than the AAF ever was. If there’s a spring football league that would work this is it. I do wish there was more than 8 teams however. If they have a successful run I say adding 4 teams wouldn’t be an issue. Here’s some ideas where they should expand to. I know it’s early but if this league is successful they have to consider adding new teams
The Top Ten
1 Chicago Chicago, officially the City of Chicago, is the third-most populous city in the United States. With over 2.7 million residents, it is also the most populous city in both the state of Illinois and the Midwestern United States. Chicago is considered one of the most important business centers in the world... read more

It makes sense. They have a decent fanbase for their sports teams. There’s also not a lot of support for the league up north. Chicago is one of the biggest markets without an XFL team. There’s potential for it to work

2 San Diego

San Diego has been screwed over by the NFL who walked out and the AAF who folded on them. This new league has potential and San Diego has a passionate fanbase. Perhaps the XFL can win over the broken hearts of Chargers fans

Just because the NFL was dumb enough to leave, the XFL should not be. Should the 9th team.

3 San Francisco San Francisco, officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California.

Another large market that has shown they can support multiple franchises. Makes a lot of sense for them to get one. Could be a fantastic rivalry with LA if all goes well

4 Memphis Memphis is a city located along the Mississippi River in southwestern Shelby County, Tennessee, United States.

Memphis has the Liberty Bowl and a Football audience already in place with the Memphis Tigers in college. Adding an XFL team could be a good counter to the Tennessee Titans in Nashville

Memphis had a team in the original XFL so they should have one

5 Oklahoma City

Would need a stadium. Unsure if the baseball stadium is suitable or desirable.

OKC is a city that doesn’t have a lot in terms of professional sports but they have the market for it. They support the Thunder and there’s a lot of support for the OU Sooners and OSU Cowboys. Giving them an XFL team would give these two fanbases something to unite them

6 Charlotte

The Carolina Panthers have drawn in some nice appeal plus they bring more southern representatives. The Carolinas know a thing about football just look at Clemson South Carolina or even North Carolina. It’s a football town alright

I'd like to see an XFL team in Charlotte.

7 Orlando

Another city that has shown they can support a professional sports team. Remember in the AAF the Orlando Apollos were very successful and had a fair sized fanbase. Plus there’s Disney so that always brings in a crowd

8 Philadelphia Philadelphia is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the sixth-most populous city in the United States, with an estimated population of 1,567,872 and more than 6 million in the seventh-largest metropolitan statistical area, as of 2016. Philadelphia is the economic and cultural anchor... read more

Another city with passionate fans that love their Eagles. An XFL team would fit in well here and give some more support in the Northeast

9 Portland Portland is the largest city in the U.S. state of Oregon and the seat of Multnomah County. It is a major port in the Willamette Valley region of the Pacific Northwest, at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers.

They have a good amount of support for the Blazers and on top of that they also have Oregon and Oregon State both who are passionate fans. There’s enough space for them to have a team. It could be a good rivalry with Seattle

10 Salt Lake City

Well judging by their AAF team they weren’t exactly supportive of it. They might not be the best fit

The Contenders
11 Atlanta Atlanta is the capital and most populous city in the U.S. state of Georgia. With an estimated 2017 population of 486,290, it is also the 38th most-populous city in the United States.
12 Pittsburgh Pittsburgh is a city in the western part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania and the second most populated city in the state.

I live near Pittsburgh, so I would like to see an XFL team in Steel City.

13 Phoenix Phoenix is the capital and most populous city of Arizona, with 1,626,000 people. It is also the fifth most populous city in the United States, and the most populous American state capital, and the only state capital with a population of more than one million residents.Phoenix is the anchor of the Phoenix... read more

They could support it maybe. There’s a decent following in the area for other Arizona teams

After losing the Raiders this year, this city will be hungry for a football team

WLAF tried to go here. I'm sure Ohio State can rent the Shoe for 5 home games a year.

16 Lincoln
17 Louisville
18 Cleveland
19 San Antonio
