Top 10 Cities that Should Get an NFL Team

The Top Ten
1 Salt Lake City, Utah

Salt Lake City is the largest city in Utah by population and by area. It also has the state capital building inside that city and also the oldest settlement. That city should've deserved to have an NFL team a long time ago but refused. It should have professional football and soccer. It has an NBA team whey they shouldn't, so they need to relocate. The NFL franchise in that city should've been publicly owned back then just like the Packers, the only other city in America besides the City of Salt Lake is Providence that I wished should've also been publicly owned as well.

2 Portland, Oregon Portland is the largest city in the U.S. state of Oregon and the seat of Multnomah County. It is a major port in the Willamette Valley region of the Pacific Northwest, at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers.

Portland, and the whole state of Oregon need an NFL Team. For football, they only have Oregon and Oregon State.

The NFL stadium should be located down in Salem, which is a much smaller local market than Portland.

Need diversity in the football world. Let's go!

3 San Antonio, Texas

The raiders may move to san antonio!

It's a good fan base a big place spread out no collage or nfl teams

4 Des Moines, Iowa

Huge, populated cities don't need to have an NFL team, they are too greedy. The small market, like the Packers, are successful that are liked, not hated because they are small market. Big markets are worse than small market because some huge cities already have the other Big 4 major pro sports. NFL teams should definitely relocate in the near future. Little Rock, Boise, Des Moines, Jackson, Providence, and Salt Lake City are perfect cities for NFL teams.

The state of Iowa doesn't have a major pro sport team. Des Moines is the states capitol and largest city, and the city population is perfect, not too big for an NFL team and its stadium. Besides Des Moines, think of other cities like Little Rock, Boise, Jackson, Providence, Salt Lake City, and Charleston WV as we know of can and should be perfect cities to have.

5 Columbus, Ohio

Columbus is growing! We're crazy about our sports! People would love to come on away games to see EVERYTHING Columbus has to offer! The highways are easy for commuting! I don't see how Cleveland and Cincinnati would have a NFL team over Columbus. I've been to all cities and am amazed we do not have the pleasure.

The Browns and Bengals are always terrible. Let's get a decent team in Ohio!

6 Albuquerque, New Mexico Situated in the high desert of New Mexico, Albuquerque is known for its unique Southwestern culture and stunning natural landscapes. The city hosts the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, one of the world's largest hot air balloon events. Its Old Town area preserves Spanish colonial and Native... read more

The NFL team in New Mexico should be called Santa Fe Browns. I mean Santa Fe instead of Albuquerque, which is the oldest city in the state and also have the State Capitol building located in Santa Fe. At least half of State Capitol cities in America should have an NFL team/stadium instead of biggest cities in many states, unless it's the State Capitol and biggest city in the state with population less than 300 thousand people with no other pro sports teams around, then it will be perfect.

7 Toronto, Ontario Toronto is the most populous city in Canada, the provincial capital of Ontario, and the centre of the Greater Toronto Area, the most populous metropolitan area in Canada. Toronto is an international centre of business, finance, arts, and culture, and is recognized as one of the most multicultural and... read more

The best place to put a nfl team in Canada would Saskatchewan they sellout every game and make the third most money for teams behind the Maple Leafs and Canadiens in Canada. The Toronto Argonauts in the CFL struggle to get 15,000 people at there game Toronto just is not a Football market

Toronto definitely needs an NFL team, anyone that says that's Toronto wouldn't be a big NFL market needs to get out of their house more. Every sunday I go out to watch football, and every bar in my city is always packed with NFL fans.

8 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The opportunities this could bring would be worth the cost and battle between Kansas and Dallas

Oklahoma has been looked over for years by the NFL because of Dallas and Kansas city

9 Omaha, Nebraska
10 Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Well, Milwaukee already has Bucks and Brewers and Green Bay only has Packers

The Contenders
11 San Diego, California

It's a beautiful city with awesome beaches and really deserves an NFL team

Beautiful city, 9th largest population in the US of A, great weather especially for future SBs

12 Boise, Idaho

States of Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming. That's 23 out of 50 US states that still doesn't even have a single major pro sport team and that should change soon in almost all states that I listed on here. At least have an NFL team and some even soccer. Boise is the state capitol and largest city and one of the oldest settlements in the US State of Idaho. The city should have a retractable roof stadium that can and should be shared with a University program, other cities should also be Little Rock, Hartford, Des Moines, Jackson, Manchester, Providence, Columbia, Salt Lake City, and Charleston WV as well as Boise. That should and will be a blast and perfect fit with the league.

13 Hartford, Connecticut

Connecticut doesn't have a major pro sport team in generations. Small cities are much better than big cities for a profession American Football team and its stadium. Other cities like Little Rock, Wilmington, Tallahassee instead of Jacksonville, Miami or Tampa, Boise, Rockford or Springfield instead of Chicago, Des Moines, Topeka, Lexington, Augusta, Grand Rapids instead of Detroit, Jackson, Independence or St. Joseph in Missouri instead of KC, Carson City instead of LV, Manchester, Trenton, Santa Fe, Albany instead of NYC area, Dayton instead of Cincinnati or Cleveland, Salem, Providence, Columbia, Salt Lake City, Richmond, and Charleston. They can be separated from other sports.

14 Honolulu, Hawaii Honolulu is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Hawaiʻi. It is an unincorporated part of and the county seat of the City and County of Honolulu along the southeast coast of the island of Oʻahu.
15 St. Paul, Minnesota
16 Montreal, Quebec
17 Orlando, Florida

Just relocate the Jag's there and you got a brand new franchise

18 St. Petersburg, Florida
19 Louisville, Kentucky

They should bring back the Colonels and have KFC as their sponsor. They could even have someone dress as Colonel Sanders for the mascot and serve KFC buckets in the stands at halftime.

20 Vancouver, British Columbia Vancouver is a coastal seaport city in western Canada, located in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia.

Actually, it should be the other Vancouver instead of in Canada. It should be the one in Washington state next to Portland Oregon. The NFL should have teams in smaller markets just like they did back in 1920. The Packers play in Green Bay Wisconsin with a city population of just 110 thousand people and still fill up Lambeau Field with no other sports around town. Cities like Little Rock, Boise, Des Moines, Jackson, Carson City, Manchester, Santa Fe, Albany, Salem, Providence, Columbia, and Salt Lake are perfect fits and better cities than much larger cities for a team.

21 Providence, Rhode Island
22 Montgomery, Alabama
23 Jackson, Mississippi
24 Little Rock, Arkansas Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas, is located along the Arkansas River. The city played a significant role in the American Civil Rights Movement, with the Central High School National Historic Site commemorating this history. The William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum is a prominent landmark... read more
25 Memphis, Tennessee

When the NFL expanded in the mid 1970's (Seattle & Tampa), two other cities (Memphis & Birmingham) were promised by then commissioner Pete Rozelle that when the NFL expanded again, these two cities would be the two favorites to land expansion franchises. Almost 50 years later, both cities are still waiting.

I think that Memphis and other Southern United States Major Cities are underrated in my opinion. The South is the #1 region for NCAA Football and just Football in general. There's at least 6 Southern U.S. Cities that I could name that I believe need to have NFL Football Teams. If Memphis were to actually get an NFL Football Team, they obviously would have to be put in the NFC Southern Division since the Tennessee Titans already play in the AFC Southern Division. It would look like this with just Memphis added in a 5"Team NFC Southern Division:

(NFC Southern Division):
1) Atlanta Falcons
2) Carolina Panthers
3) Memphis, TN (NFL Football Expansion Team)
4) New Orleans Saints
5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
