His songwriting partnership with Paul McCartney remains the most successful in history. The Beatles was my childhood. I loved their songs when I was younger and I still do.

The man who the world knew as David Bowie was an actor, a painter, a philosopher, and many other things. But first and foremost, and what he was known for most, he was a rock star, covering every genre from psychedelic folk to industrial. His influence on fashion, music, and pop culture in general remains as his legacy--along, of course, with his unforgettable music. David Bowie was a great actor and a great musician. I especially loved him as Jareth the Goblin King in the movie Labyrinth. It makes me sad that he died. After finding out that he died, I listened to some of his music for days in a row. I'm still sad. He was just amazing! I think it's awesome that a new constellation was named in his honor.
I was just talking to Petsounds about this and actually got my whole list idea from the conversation. David played the Goblin king in one of my favourite movies The Labyrinth and I used to watch it when I was little with my mom. It was a huge part of my childhood.
I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence, how David Bowie shaped my teen years.
I haven't listened to him for years or seen all of his movies, but you sure bet my kids will.

He's a great person, despite his music, but he's blamed for so much. He doesn't deserve the hate and criticism that he gets. I kinda feel sorry for him. And his music does have meaning even if it's misunderstood by lots of people. Also, under the makeup and crazy costumes, he doesn't look that bad and he has a wonderful personality. I have a lot of respect for him even if a lot of others don't.
