Top 10 Classic Examples of Nightmare Fuel from The Simpsons Excluding "Threehouse of Horror Segments"
For this list we will be looking at the most nightmare fuel moments from the Simpsons we will not be including any moments from the Treehouse of Horror segments as there's already a list for that and it wouldn't be fair as they would take up most if not all of this list.
After Homer shows up late picking up Bart from soccer practice Bart becomes understandably pissed at him as Homer tries and fails to make a decent apology to Bart then looks at Homer and envisions turning into a rotting corpse as his skin melts off as he says "NOW HOW ABOUT A HUG".
In this episode Marge becomes pregnant with Lisa and when Bart is unwilling to give up his crib for the new baby Homer decides to build a clown bed for Bart but the end result is something completely horrifying and nightmarish as if the design wasn't terrifying enough Bart begins to hear the bed talking to him saying "If you should die before you wake" as the bed suddenly comes to life and begins laughing maniacally terrifying Bart as well as any kid who watched it at the time.
While riding a ride which is a clear parody of Disney's It's a small world attraction Bart dares Lisa to drink the water which Lisa is uncertain it is water and after pressure from Bart and Aunt Selma ordering her to drink it she does and begins hallucinating as she looks at Slema who now resembles a green monster with multiple eyes as she begins to completely freak out.
While walking home from Moe's Homer gets lost and ends up in the woods where he has a run in with a green glowing figure that resembles an alien and as its speaks to him he flees in terror.
Bart runsaway after being punished for destroying Lisa's Thanksgiving centerpiece and as he decides to head home right as he is about go inside he has vision of what could possibly happen as he envisions himself apologizing to Lisa only to be told by Marge that his apology is no good and Homer orders him to beg her for forgiveness as Bart repeatedly says he's sorry as the whole family begins blaming him for everything as Bart continues apologizing everyone begins chanting "IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT! " over and over again until he is brought back to reality.
After finding out the Simpsons kids have not been baptized Ned decides to perform the baptist himself by taking them to the Springfield river as neither Bart or Lisa is happy with this as Maude informs them that Maggie isn't scared as Bart replies its because she can't talk as Maggie removes her pacifier and says "Daddly Doodly" before twisting her head around to face Bart and Lisa like from the Exorcists.
As Marge waits impatiently for Homer to come home to tell him off after getting advice from Dr. Marvin Monroe Bart, Lisa and Maggie go up to her asking when's dinner as she quickly turns around and roars at them with a terrifying expression scaring the kids into backing off.
After Bart's latest mishap which involves stealing a cop car a new more strict judge orders that he and Homer be shackled to each other and while playing baseball at school while Bart is running from base to base Homer ends up being dragged alond the field which have glass and other sharp objects as Bart reaches home plate he is horrified as the Homer's now mangled body as he tries to hug him before collapsing on the field.
After Homer and Bart transform a horse Duncan into a more badass racing horse the jokey's kidnap Homer and reveal themselves to be magical elves who are ticked off that Homer and Bart's horse keeps winning and order that he lose the next race or they will eat Homer's brain, the moment alone caused some controversy for portraying the jokey's as murderous magical elves, if it were part of a Treehouse of Horror segment it wouldn't be so bad bur for a regular Simpsons episode it feels really out of place.
