Top 10 Classic Examples of Underrated Animated Series that Were/are Overshadowed by Extremely Overrated OnesUp to two "overshadowing" shows at a time, please

The Top Ten
Granted, Rocko is actually a pretty OVER-rated show nowadays as far as animated surrealist sitcoms are concerned, but back in the 90s, this show was the literal DEFINITION of this, and to this day is hands-down one of THE greatest satire shows of all time.
It was a smart version of Ren & Stimpy combined with an actually FUNNY and more adult-oriented version of Spongebob (and a great big combination of basically all of the best things about pretty much every Nicktoon EVER, most notably the original trio of Doug, R&S and Rugrats, let's not forget that)...
Yet for some reason, despite being more than debatably THE best show of the traditional Nicktoons (not counting Avatar and Invader Zim, as they are both extremely anime-styled in their own ways), this show simply never caught on the way that most of the more popular Nicktoons did.
Shame too, because this entire series as a whole (even WITH all of its filler episodes) is probably THE funniest thing to ever come out of ...more - xandermartin98
Rocko deserves better - Not_A_Weeaboo
You haven't seen how good a show based off of a video game can REALLY be until you've watched Earthworm Jim, enough said. Basically Freakazoid on LUDICROUS amounts of steroids, this gorgeously produced, all-star voice-casted and insanely high-budgeted (not to mention disastrously short-lived) masterpiece of an animated superhero spoof is just so damned good that I almost lack the words to describe it...oh, I know, HILARIOUS - xandermartin98
Again, you haven't seen Butch Hartman's best work until you've seen this (honestly, FOP is good but VERY far from great) - xandermartin98
Danny Phantom isn’t overshadowed. It’s popular and gets just the right amount of attention. - Not_A_Weeaboo
Whoever that one guy (gal? ) that claimed Gumball to have "the best animation style in Cartoon Network history with absolutely no contest" was, you might want to get your eyes checked, because this show did the whole "photographic backgrounds" thing both first and also insanely more effectively (also was a pretty disturbingly insane show in general, which just added to its awesomeness) - xandermartin98
Overshadowed at its time by B&BH due to B&BH being pretty much the only animated thing that MTV is known for (and as much as I hate to say it, rightfully so when this, Daria and Metalocalypse are removed from the equation); overshadowed now by Total Drama because of all the ignorant kids who think that TD's art/humor style originated specifically from TD
(also, CH is an utterly ingenious and razor-sharp parody of teen-drama shows and you absolutely need to watch it right now) - xandermartin98
Probably the SECOND best show to ever be based off of a video game (with Castlevania hopefully taking its place if and when Konami decides to stop teasing us and actually make it a full series for God's sake), the F-Zero anime is downright horrendously clichéd and predictable but is absolutely incredible regardless and boasts easily one of THE all-time greatest series-finale closing scenes in all of recorded anime history, BY FAR (Captain Falcon performing his signature Falcon Punch directly into Black Shadow's face so devastatingly hard that it completely vaporizes his entire body and causes the entire PLANET that the two of them are on to explode so violently that it shoots a massive vertical laser beam all the way up and down the entire galaxy, anyone? ) - xandermartin98
It might not have looked as good, but it was FAR more innovative at the time and was overall a much more sophisticated show for what it was worth; if you're a fan of ugly CGI cartoons, go ahead and give it a shot some time - xandermartin98
Simply by virtue of being the much classier and lesser-known alternative spin-off to an extremely iconic yet completely brain-dead series - xandermartin98
You know, I personally don't actually find Futurama to really be all that great when compared to Rocko, Danny Phantom and the like myself; however, it deserves its place here due to how horribly the Fox channel treated it in favor of Simpsons; even after it jumped the shark in its later seasons, it was still light-years better than what Simpsons turned into during the 2000s, I can GUARANTEE you that much - xandermartin98
Again, not overshadowed. - Not_A_Weeaboo
Mixing Back To The Future with Ren & Stimpy and Futurama? Heh, that's cute; personally, I prefer modernized Rocko's Modern Life but told from the perspective of R&S's Mr. Horse myself - xandermartin98
Nah. This show's honestly overrated.
