Top Ten Best Classic Nintendo 3DS Mario Games

The Nintendo 3DS is one of those nintendo systems with so many games! So many games so that I see there to be the classic Nintendo 3DS games, and the modern Nintendo 3DS games. The classic ones are the ones that came before the amiibo was made (or at least the games without amiibo support, so that means games made after Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam are not allowed on the list (including Paper Jam)), and in this list we will be ranking the classic Nintendo 3DS mario games, so without further ado, let's start!
The Top Ten
1 Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

I never played the original or this version but I grew up with the original Rareware trilogy and I loved it! So I don't see what can be so bad about this one

2 Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Bros.

It took a long time for me to accept that this game was even better than Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, that game was one of the best I have ever played due to its originality and creativity! However, this game is superior to that game is every possible way imaginable! It's even more unique and creative! The setting is pherhaps even better, and the story is about as good as in Superstar Saga! Antasma was an excellent villian and Bowser was very intimidating! I loved the dream worlds and how important Luigi is! This game is one of the greatest of all time! I don't understand how people ca say it's one of the worst mario rpgs! Tutorials and graphics don't make a game! It's originality and gameplay that does that! And this game was in fact one of the most original!

I give this game 10/10

3 Luigi's Mansion 2

This is one of the most recent games I have played, and it's a great game definitely! I also released a spoiler free review on it which you can check out for mroe information on why I really liked this game, anyway. This game was very memorable and fun to play through! It's very original and the bosses and mansions all stand out from one and another! My only problems are that the game feels a bit too linear, the music was dissapointing and the fact that it wasn't that scary. But other than that it's a very great game!

I still have the OG 3DS model. So the thing that I hate about this game is that it's not compatible with my Circle Pad Pro but, people who have The New 3DS/2DS XL models, it absolutely works with the extra buttons.

4 Mario Kart 7

Mario Kart 7 is not only the first Nintendo 3DS game I got, but it's also my favourite Mario Kart game to date! This game sure does lack single player versus mode, and the battle mode isn't the absolute best since you can't decide how many rounds you want to play, the courses, music and online is what makes me love this game so much! This game by far had the best online in the mario kart series in my opinion for some reason! I also liked the roster, sure, it lacks Waluigi and has Metal Mario instead, but the choices in this roster were so obscure! Wiggler and Honey Queen are characters you don't normally get to play as in mario spin-offs! This is definitely my favourite mario kart game!

Now this should be one.

How is this not #1

5 Mario Party: Island Tour

This is in my opinion one of the greatest mario games of all time! You guys probably already kjonw how muh I love modern mario party, especially the earlier ones! While Mario Party Island Tour isn't my favourite mario party, it's definitely my second favourite! It's even the best classic Nintendo 3DS mario game in my opinion! So why do I love this game so much? Well, the answer is easy! It's so unique and creative! The boards in the game are short, but they all have a different aspect of winning them! There's the luck-based Banzai Bill's Mad Mountain, the skill-based Kamek's Carpet Ride, and so on! Each board is something different and unique and I love it! There's a such a big variety in boards! Alright, the music is also excellent! For me it is very nostalgic! The final bowser battle and Let's Go are some of my all-time favourite songs! I loved the boss battle minigames as well! To be honest, the only thing I did not like about the game was maybe that the story mode was a bit ...more

In my opinion this is the worst Mario party game (I still like it but, compared to the other Mario party games its not that good)

I kinda liked it.

6 Super Mario 3D Land

Now one thing that's true about this game is that it's not the most original mario game, and the level design and story is very boring! However, this was the first mario game to mix 2D and 3D and it was quite an original act! I like it! However, the reason this game isn't original, is as you read above, the story and level design is basically the same as every other mario platformer. But this game is still a lot of fun!

7 Mario Golf: World Tour

This game is really fun and it's the only Mario Golf game I currently own. The roster is fantastic in this game, one of the best in the entire mario series and the challenges and game modes are all really fun and addicting. It's great if you want to get familiar with golf. Although the lack of a story mode is a bit disappointing but still it's great.

8 Mario Tennis Open

See my comment for Mario Golf: World Tour, same thing applies here except I'm not sure about getting it since I already have Mario Tennis Aces on the Switch, it looks like a fun game though

9 Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

Haven't played it, but it looks pretty boring, I heard it's the bad version of Smash 4 whereas the Wii U version was the good one

10 New Super Mario Bros. 2

Fun game. I was told it was awful but much to my delight, it's really an enjoyable game.

one word to describe it : awesome

I love this game

Underrated.

The Contenders
11 Paper Mario: Sticker Star

I haven't played it yet, but I'm not planning to either! It looks so bland and boring and there's barely anything original or interesting about it!

Oh no. This game sucks.

Worst game ever.

12 Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

If you mean the 3DS version it's a MODERN! It came out in 2018!
