The Contenders: Page 15

281 Renegade - Styx V 1 Comment
282 Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent

Hard rocking balls to the wall song that should be in the top ten.

283 Sunshine of Your Love - Cream

This song's heavy psychedelic riff got me into rock music when I was a child. It also got me into this band. This song was ahead of its time, being released in May of 1967. This band, especially this song, influenced heavy metal bands, such as Black Sabbath and Deep Purple.

What is wrong with this list?!?! This song has one of the most killer and badass riffs in music history and is creams best song. Why is this so low. This should be in the top 20 for sure.

284 Close to the Edge - Yes V 3 Comments
285 Stone Me Into the Groove - Atomic Swing

Many of you people that go all the way down the list are looking for something new. Well now you have it. An underground song from an underground band from an underground music scene is Sweden. The point is... THAT THIS SONG ROCKS! I'm not joking, as it has a perfect blend of everything, from Psychedelia to Glam to Grunge to Zappa to Pop to Folk and back to Psychedelia... plus many more on the way. This is also not their only good song, as others, such as the Flasher are also great, but either way, check this song out! You won't be disappointed!

286 Rock Candy - Montrose

Is there any classic guitar riff that has the thunder and grit of Rock Candy? Read the Sammy Hagar bio - despite all those tremendous years with Van Halen and as a solo artist, when other Hall of Fame rockers jam with Sammy, he says they all ask to play ROCK CANDY first! Montrose was too short lived as a band, but one of the greatest and most underrated bands of all time!

287 For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica
288 Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica
289 Hangar 18 - Megadeth
290 Ticket to Ride - Beatles

I'm not a particular fan of this one but the songs it currently sits behind is embarrassing.

291 School's Out - Alice Cooper

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is the first song of Alice Cooper's I've seen on this list. How is this so low? Where "I'm Eighteen" or "Billion Dollar Babies? " - maarilynmaanson

Why is this so low!?!?!

Classic

292 Hello Again - The Cars

This is, without a doubt, one of their best hits. I love this song so much. I could hear it again and again. Even the music video isn't that bad. The first time watching the official music video, I watched it about three times in one day. The Cars ROCK! Such a great band and not enough recognition. I wish Benjamin Orr was still here. He was so awesome; the rest of the band are awesome too. CARS FOREVER!

293 No Such Thing - Tommy Shaw
294 Song 2 - Blur
295 Zombie - The Cranberries
296 Right Now - Van Halen

This song is simply amazing. When the intro comes on you can tell that this one is going to be a good one. The dramatic piano solo into the amazing lyrics to the peppy piano solo is just outstanding. This should definitely be number 1 no contest

Would have loved to see Hagar do more with Van Halen, they were great together.

297 Take It Off - Kiss
298 Always - Bon Jovi V 1 Comment
299 Jumpin' Jack Flash - The Rolling Stones V 1 Comment
300 Great Balls of Fire - Jerry Lee Lewis
