Greatest Classic Rock Songs

The Contenders: Page 8

141 Unforgiven - Metallica
142 Anarchy In the Uk - Sex Pistols
143 The Razors Edge - AC/DC
144 Light My Fire - The Doors

This song knocked the Beatles out of the number one spot and the Beatles are quite possibly the greatest band of all time. Pretty good for a first hit song.

This is definitely top ten worthy. The Doors are the most brilliant band of their time. Them and The Beatles are king. The Beatles pioneered music and then The Doors turned it upside down. Light My Fire was a massive hit and it is an amazing song. Long live Jim Morrison.

I fail to see how Know Your Enemy by Green Day is above this. Green Day isn't classic rock and they're only okay. The doors is classic rock and they're great. I'm not even a huge doors fan but I think this song should be up higher

It couldn't get much higher.

145 Iron Man - Black Sabbath

I love this song. I don't really care for metal.

Even in the 2015s, no band can produce the rhythm of the Black Country as they did.

146 You Can't Always Get What You Want - The Rolling Stones

This song deserves to be much higher. Along with Sympathy for the Devil and Gimme Shelter, this is one of my 3 favorite Rolling Stones songs. - stevekubin

A semi-hidden b side classic

147 Amazing - Aerosmith

Anyone who doesn't like this song is crazy, This song is Amazing. Thus the title! This is one song by Aerosmith that is definitely underplayed.

Amazing is a good song but this isn't exactly a classic

That is rock' n roll

148 Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

Seriously, why aren't there about 20 or 30 Queen songs on this list? Fat Bottomed Girls, Hammer To Fall, Keep Yourself Alive, Spread Your Wings, 39, Killer Queen, Who Wants To Live Forever, Too Much Love Will Kill You, We Will Rock You, Somebody To Love, Tie Your Mother Down, A Kind Of Magic, Innuendo, One Vision...I could go on.

Amazing song, seem that Freddie enjoy while singing this song

159th?! come on, it's the best Queen song, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is overrated as hell...

Okay, defining Classic Rock as 60's, 70's and early 80's (before synthesizers became popular) rock, blues rock, psychedelic rock and hard rock (exluding metal and punk movements, because they are a bit separate from the classic genres), this is my top:
1. "Don't Stop Me Now" - Queen
2. "You Shook Me All Night Long" - AC/DC
3. "Paint It Black" - The Rolling Stones
4. "My Generation" - The Who
5. "Break on Through (to the Other Side)" - The Doors
6. "La Grange" - ZZ Top
7. "Highway to Hell" - AC/DC
8. "House of the Rising Sun" - The Animals
9. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" - Pink Floyd
10. "Riders on the Storm" - The Doors
11. "Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeppelin
12. "Sweet Home Alabama" - Lynyrd Skynyrd
13. "Behind Blue Eyes" - The Who
14. "Dream On" - Aerosmith
15. "Layla" - Derek and the Dominos
16. "Get Off of My Cloud" - The Doors
17. ...more

151 Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin

Why in the world is immigrant song in this position? This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!

One of Zep's greatest! Immigrant song is perfectly written and the timing of the music is perfect for the words. Feel the beat & listen close, you can practically see in your mind the Vikings rowing the warships! & the war cry of the Vikings is so very perfectly worked in. I understand this list is of people voting for their favorites and I am ok with that. BUT a true music lover and/or connoisseur has agree this is a perfect song. & that's all I have to say about that!

152 Unchained - Van Halen

Damn the guitar though

Piano man? Really? Counless hours of headbanging there.

153 We Will Rock You - Queen
154 Blitzkrieg Bop - The Ramones

Come on you gotta be kidding! This song is a classic!

155 Send Me an Angel - Scorpions V 1 Comment
156 Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses

So I was at this tiny bar in Malaysia, and a band was playing. Some local girl came on stage, asked the band to play this song, and she sang. Best live performance I've ever heard in my life.

This song is top ten worthy. Meaningful lyrics and one of the greatest guitar solos ever. what is it doing at 274? Guns and Roses kept classic rock alive when people everywhere were abandoning it for nirvana.

THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER! Everything about this song is awesome! The lyrics, the intro, the solo and I just love the "where do we go now" part! I can't believe it's not in the top 10!

Classic, perfect, great great vocals magic guitar solo and no padding
