Top 10 Best Colognes for Men

The Top Ten
1 Le Male - Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier is known for its iconic torso-shaped bottle and its unique blend of lavender, vanilla, and mint. First released in 1995, the cologne has become a symbol of daring masculinity and continues to be popular for its oriental fougère scent profile.

Although a popular choice for many men, this cologne is a surefire way to get compliments from the ladies! Ignore the reviews that say it's often too overused or smells like a men's nightclub washroom due to its popularity among guys. The reason we like it is because the ladies love it!

I own this one, and it's amazing! Many people have complimented me and started to love this beautiful scent. It's my second cologne. I also have Azzaro Chrome, which is still very good, but Le Male is better, I think.

2 Acqua Di Gio - Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani is a fresh and invigorating fragrance that captures the essence of the sea and sun-drenched islands. With its blend of marine notes, fruits, herbs, and woods, this cologne has been a staple in men's fragrance since its launch in 1996.

Being a woman, let me tell you, this cologne smells good on most men. This scent is appealing to every woman I know, and if we smell it on you, trust me, it ups your chances. It's expensive, but worth it for the higher-quality attention that you will receive wearing it.

I've been buying Ralph Lauren Polo Black for my husband, but now I will be buying him this. This is the best-smelling cologne I have ever come across. I don't have any idea what could possibly top this.

Yeah, I have just tried it. It's really gentle and subtle. The light, aromatic mystery of sea water fascinates me a lot. It keeps you fresh the whole day. It's the best choice.

3 1 Million - Paco Rabanne 1 Million by Paco Rabanne is a spicy and seductive fragrance that combines notes of grapefruit, mint, and blood orange in its top notes. Launched in 2008, the scent is housed in a striking gold bar-shaped bottle, emphasizing its theme of luxury and wealth.

This cologne is extremely appealing to women. I've had moments where I have been to strip clubs, and they've all sat on my lap because of its amazing smell. There were other times when a girl I used to date just licked my neck because she loved the smell. Needless to say, I'll be buying One Million for a long time.

This stuff is AMAZING! If you've never had the pleasure of its scent wafting through your nostrils, you've been missing out. Do yourself a favor and get this before it gets too popular. Then you can say that you discovered it before everybody else did.

4 A*Men - Thierry Mugler Launched in 1996, this fragrance is known for its sweet, warm notes including vanilla and caramel. It was designed as a counterpart to Thierry Mugler's earlier scent, Angel, which was geared towards women.

Honestly, this is the best cologne I've ever tried. I've received a lot of compliments from women. The scent never goes away, and that's what I like about it. It stays on forever. Women go crazy about it. You can go months without washing your shirt, and the smell will still stay on.

Everywhere I go, people say they love my smell. Even the top sellers of AMEN admit it's the best-smelling cologne. It's surprising that I don't see this in the top ten. But then again, I'm happy because the best products in the world are only known by a few.

5 Fierce - Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch is synonymous with the youthful, casual atmosphere of its clothing stores. With notes of fir, lemon, and sage, this woody aromatic cologne has been a hit since its debut in 2002 and is often the scent you smell when walking into an Abercrombie & Fitch shop.

I think it's a very underrated yet extremely great fragrance that can compete with other high-end men's colognes. Its price range ($80 for 3.7 oz) is also a very good deal. I think it's much better than most of its competitors, like SoCal by Hollister. Honestly, you could be as ugly as a dog, and this will still attract women!

This truly is one of the cleanest, sexiest smells, depending on your body chemistry. It has a nice, light feel on the body. I once met a lady who just smiled at me, and I could see the gleam in her eyes. Smelling great is a good thing, and this one is a winner.

6 The One - Dolce & Gabbana The One by Dolce & Gabbana offers a modern interpretation of classic tobacco and oriental notes. Launched in 2008, this fragrance is sophisticated and elegant, making it suitable for special occasions and romantic evenings.

This is the most amazing-smelling cologne I have ever had. My dad gave it to me as a gift, and after I finished the bottle he gave me, I went to the store and bought four more. I did this so that if I run out, I won't have to go a day without it. This cologne will practically get ladies into your pants. It is truly amazing. If Jesus used cologne, I'm sure this would be his choice.

In my personal opinion, this cologne smells of amber, ginger, and a slight hint of tobacco. I personally have this cologne and think it smells absolutely fantastic. I also have Paco Rabanne's One Million and a few other colognes, but it's hard to decide if I like One Million or this better.

7 L'Eau D'Issey - Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake is a complex fragrance that was launched in 1994. With its unique combination of yuzu, lemon, and woody spices, this cologne was groundbreaking in its use of unusual, exotic notes, making it memorable and long-lasting.

Bought this one after reading reviews on the internet. Absolutely beautiful! The fragrance takes you to another world. I will definitely suggest this one to anyone who wants to have a signature fragrance.

This was my signature fragrance for years. I always got compliments. I have been trying a lot of new stuff to take its place but have had no luck so far. I also found that this mixes great with other fragrances to create your own scent. I used to mix it with BLV Blue and got tons of compliments.

After a one-night stand, I was forced by the girl to leave my shirt that had this fragrance on it with her. Just one of the many great experiences I've had wearing this.

8 Dior Homme Intense - Dior Unveiled in 2011, this is an intense version of the original Dior Homme. The fragrance is a woody floral musk, distinguished by notes such as iris, ambrette, and cedar.

This is definitely a compliment-getter. It gives off a lipstick-y vibe, which is the flowery iris, but every time I wear it out, I get noticed. It's rich and sophisticated, and it lasts forever. Get your nose on it and buy a bottle when you see one. Don't let this slip through your fingers!

Sillage is beyond average. Projection is very good. Lasts long.

Fantastic scent, but hard to find!

9 Guilty - Gucci Guilty by Gucci is an invigorating cologne characterized by its lemon, lavender, and patchouli notes. Introduced in 2011, this fragrance has a moderate sillage and is often chosen by men who are looking for a fresh, contemporary scent.

A balanced fragrance with hints of citrus, alcohol, and woody aroma. The smell lingers for a long time and leaves a signature trail behind you.

I wear this every day, and I get tons of people who give me hugs just so they can smell me. Definitely worth the money.

This cologne is one of my favorites, and it's not cheap! Well worth every dime spent. I love it so much!

10 Cool Water - Davidoff Cool Water by Davidoff is a quintessential aquatic fragrance that was introduced in 1988. With its refreshing notes of lavender, mint, and rosemary, it is often credited with pioneering the trend of fresh, oceanic scents in men's colognes.

The ladies always approve. You can't go wrong with Cool Water by Davidoff. Some smoker friends have also said it has an odd fusion with the smell of cigarette smoke and doesn't start to smell bad after lighting one, but instead smells good.

I'm 65 years old, and when I wear Cool Water, young ladies comment on how brilliant it smells. Their boyfriends are then more than obliged to purchase their own. They don't want to be outclassed by the older guys!

This has been my favorite for over 10 years. It has a nice masculine smell, not like something like Eternity for Men, which takes on a floral, feminine smell after a while. You can't go wrong with this.

The Contenders
11 Dior Homme Sport - Christian Dior Released in 2008, this scent is a fresher take on the original Dior Homme. It features notes of citron, ginger, and cedar, making it a lively and energetic fragrance.

Just bought this one today and already love it! I received several compliments in the first few hours. Be careful how much you use, as it is really powerful and can be overwhelming.

In the top 3, no doubt. All the real women love it, and more.

12 Fahrenheit - Dior Introduced in 1988, Fahrenheit features an unconventional blend of leather, floral, and woody notes. The fragrance is often recognized for its distinct petrol-like opening.

I never cared for any men's fragrances until I smelled Fahrenheit. I crave the smell now. It's fresh, clean, and sexy. I get aroused by the smell. I have smelled many men's fragrances, but they all smell the same to me: fake and unnatural. Fahrenheit is absolutely amazing!

This cologne's scent is unlike any other's, and its smell lasts for long periods of time. It's so strong and wonderful. My dad always wore it. Even I, as a woman, find myself spritzing myself with it. It definitely deserves the number one spot.

13 Dolce & Gabbana - Dolce & Gabbana Dolce & Gabbana by Dolce & Gabbana is a spicy and masculine scent that was released in 1994. Characterized by notes of bergamot, tangerine, and cedar, it has remained a timeless choice for men seeking a fragrance with depth and complexity.

It's rare for me to smell another guy and want to know what cologne he's wearing. That's how I was introduced to this scent. I've owned everything, and this is by far the best cologne ever created. I retired it a long time ago, but in my heyday, I received lots of compliments like, "My sheets smelled like you in the morning." Unfortunately, it's become pretty played out. Everyone knows it, recognizes it, and probably even owns it. To me, it's so iconic that I can't even grab a bottle and reapply it. It would be like trying to relive memories or decades. If you're unfamiliar with it, I definitely recommend giving it a try. It's strong, so treat it like a wild bull and go easy on it. It'll treat you right. I have lots to say about colognes, but this will be the only one I comment on in this forum. It's probably not ideal as a daytime cologne, but I wore that scent all day and night.

14 Eau Sauvage - Christian Dior A classic since its launch in 1966, Eau Sauvage is a citrus aromatic scent. It features key notes like lemon, basil, and vetiver, remaining an iconic choice for generations.

Distinctive, refreshing, and very good to wear on hot days. Very masculine and clean. There is no other one like it on the market these days. It's a shame that it will soon be discontinued.

I've been using this for more than 30 years and still enjoy it very much. I just hope that they don't reformulate it too much. It would be a shame.

This is the best citric men's scent ever! It starts off refreshing and invigorating, then the dry down is still refreshing but goes a little woodsy and stays for hours.

15 Eternity - Calvin Klein Eternity by Calvin Klein is a classic fragrance launched in 1990, celebrated for its balanced composition of lavender, citrus, and green botanicals. Often described as a clean and crisp scent, Eternity remains a popular choice for daily wear.

It's a classic. I have a million colognes, but Eternity is always the one I reach for when I have a hot date or just want to make sure I smell great!

This is a great fragrance to wear to work - light, citrusy smell that develops into a more subtle fragrance by the end of the workday.

It has a very crisp smell, but it's not 'in your face'. It never fails to attract a compliment.

16 Bond No. 9 New Haarlem - Bond No. 9 A sophisticated fragrance that pays homage to the rich history of Harlem, New York. With a captivating blend of coffee, vanilla, and lavender notes, it's a unique and invigorating scent.

It's like walking into a Starbucks. Coffee with something to sweeten it up, and some cookies or baked goods being, well, baked. Definitely gourmand, and it makes your mouth water. Everyone will notice that you are wearing it within an 8-foot radius.

17 Hugo - Hugo Boss Hugo by Hugo Boss is a fresh and clean scent characterized by its combination of green apple, grapefruit, and basil. Introduced in 1995, this cologne aims to embody the urban, modern man and has remained a favorite for its versatility.

This should be ranked the #1 best cologne on here, with Gio at #2. If you've never smelled this stuff, do yourself a favor and find it. It's probably one of the most underrated fragrances of all time. I think they even sell it at Walmart now, which is crazy!

Hugo by Hugo Boss is one of the best well-balanced male fragrances of all time and can be worn by anyone, anywhere, at any time.

All Hugo Boss perfumes are aromatically fragranced. They look great, smell great, and even make the person wearing it smell great. Hugo Boss is perfect for people who like medium-strength perfumes. Thumbs up for Hugo Boss!

18 Obsession for Men - Calvin Klein Obsession for Men by Calvin Klein is a provocative fragrance that was introduced in 1986. Dominated by notes of amber, clove, and nutmeg, this scent is known for its powerful sillage and longevity, making it a statement fragrance.

Yes, it's been around forever and is the one to which all other colognes are compared. I would describe it as mellow and sweet. It's a must-smell!

You can never go wrong with Obsession. It's a definite must-have and the best of all time.

19 Versace Pour Homme - Versace Introduced in 2008, this fragrance is a woody aromatic scent that includes notes like lemon, neroli, and cedar. It's a versatile scent, designed to exude both elegance and masculinity.

Truly underrated and absolutely great-smelling. With over 150 different perfumes, this is in my top 3! It can be worn both in casual attire or a classy suit. Great projection, sillage, and longevity. A must-try. Not to be confused with other Versace scents. This one is called Homme.

If you are looking for a totally unique and identifiable fragrance, VPH will never fail you. ALL women, young and old, love this smell. I often have complete strangers approach me to ask what brand of fragrance I'm wearing. But beware of fakes!

20 Bleu de Chanel - Chanel Introduced in 2010, Bleu de Chanel is a woody aromatic fragrance that combines notes like grapefruit, incense, and ginger. It's often described as sophisticated, ideal for contemporary men.

This offer by Chanel is an all-around woody aromatic people-pleaser, and women are definitely attracted to it!

I just bought this cologne the other day. I love the smell. Also, I get so many compliments. It should be #1.

Great for the day. I love its freshness, but the longevity is not long on me.

21 Cacharel Pour Homme - Cacharel Launched in 1981, Cacharel Pour Homme is a woody spicy scent for men. Created by Gerard Goupy, the fragrance combines nutmeg, lavender, and bergamot to create a timeless, masculine aroma.
22 L'Homme - Yves Saint Laurent Launched in 2006, L'Homme features a harmonious blend of bergamot, ginger, and vetiver. The scent is clean, fresh, and versatile, suitable for both day and night.

I can't think of any other cologne that smells better than YSL. I first tested it in Carson's and have been hooked ever since. I can't really describe the smell. It's kind of sweet with a touch of spicy. I highly recommend it and don't see how it's not on this list.

Just bought it. The smell lasts long, and the odor stays in your nose and smells good all the time. It just fits. A close contender would be "Wood."

This is personally my all-time favorite and my main go-to.

23 Polo Sport - Ralph Lauren Introduced in 1994, Polo Sport is an aromatic green fragrance aimed at active men. It combines notes like mint, algae, and lavender, making it fresh and invigorating.

This has been in my collection for over 20 years, and I still get compliments whenever I wear it. It's one of my three "go-to" fragrances that never miss.

24 Emporio Armani - Giorgio Armani Emporio Armani by Giorgio Armani was launched in 1998 and is designed for the young and modern man. With its blend of apple, sage, and chestnut, it creates a subtly sweet and youthful scent that is perfect for casual occasions.

It smells really good and makes my nose buds tingle.

It's a classic that smells great and will get you plenty of compliments.

25 L'Homme Libre - Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme Libre by Yves Saint Laurent was launched in 2011. It is a woody aromatic scent, featuring a blend of bergamot, pink pepper, and nutmeg for a fresh yet sophisticated aroma.

Bergamot, pepper, and patchouli. Very masculine and outdoorsy, good for all occasions.

A very unique smell that is perfect for the summer.
