Best Comeback Albums EverMetal_Treasure
The Top Ten
I believe this was the first time a legendary band had a reunion tour? Nevertheless, this album takes the band into new directions and it never rests on the past. Five masters of their respective instruments!
I wish system of a down releases a new album so that it could be on this list. - LightningStrike
The members have been getting into disputes with each other recently, so I seriously doubt that an album will come out, but I still love their work and hopefully they'll work together to release some new material in the future. - Catacorn
Best come back
An awesome album of 1984 released after 9 years of silence. One of their best albums actually, if you ask me. Even the bonus tracks are amazing, esp. Son of Alerik. The album went platinum in the U.S. Ritchie Blackmore said that the song Perfect Strangers is his favorite Deep Purple song. - Metal_Treasure
Released in 2013, it was the 1st album after Forbidden (1995). Whole 18 years!
Forbidden was a disappointment - as Tony Iommi himself stated, this album should be forbidden.
The album 13 was much better accepted, basically because it featured Ozzy after decades of absence. Nostalgia. The album sounded to me like a recycled material from their previous hits but I have to admit it was a very good summary of their earlier work. It's their final album because they disbanded. - Metal_Treasure
An unbelievably powerful album from front to back. - Relixx599
After 14 years of silence from 1996-2010, Accept made a great come back. - Metal_Treasure
This is one of the best albums ever - Legend1221
If you guys can't pick Green Day, then you are an American Idiot!
After a series of disappointing albums, released between 1994 and 2016, this album of 2016 was pretty good and eventually won Megadeth their first Metal Grammy. - Metal_Treasure
After this came the Book of Souls. In my opinion, one song on Book of Souls, Empire of the Clouds, is actually better than their 80s stuff (they were still masterpieces, mind you). - PhoenixAura81
The return of Bruce Dickinson after two albums with Blaze Bayley Iron Maiden fans were excited to finally have the Iron Maiden they know and love back - germshep24
Great back to thrash album that showcases their amazing skill.
This album was a great comeback to the more thrash roots - germshep24
This album rules
Massive improvement over their previous album. I know that's not saying a lot because St. Anger was terrible, but still this was good. - truckturner
After 12 years of silence (1983-1995), Rainbow released this pleasant album. Their final album. - Metal_Treasure
This was a good continuation of their comeback album but it isn't a comeback album, for it to be a comeback album they would have had to had announced their retirement or had a split up to return - germshep24
If a band takes a break from making albums whether that is 3 or ten years their next album isn't automatically a comeback if it is over 10 years sure, especially when their last album before it was a good album and no the vanity album Lulu doesn't count as their album that is a Lou Reed album that happened to have Metallica providing the instrumentals and back up vocals - germshep24
This album is amazing and Spit Out the Bone is the best song of 2016. - PhoenixAura81
Spit out the bone!
That's not really a comeback... - JoLeKosovo
First thing I thought of when I saw this list. After a 2-year period of the world hating him, and his world crashing down launching him into a state of deep depression, he focused that energy into creating the greatest album of all time. - TheParasiter
No, this album sucks. Ya can't argue with the facts. - NickelbackLinkinPark4Eva
Monster, All Of The Lights (including the interlude), Lost In America, Power, Dark Fantasy and much MUCH more. What's not to like?
One of the longest period between two albums : 33 years. - JoLeKosovo
After 33 years of silence the godfathers of death metal came back! - Metal_Treasure
I was waiting for this to show up. Fantastic album and my favorite from this band. - cjWriter1997
From 1990 to 2006 they didn't release any albums (16 years). This album came out in 2006. - Metal_Treasure
Why is this considered a comeback album? It came out in 1980, their previous album in 1979. Two consecutive years. They didn't go anywhere. - Metal_Treasure
I think it's considered a comeback album because some people thought they would disband after Bon Scott's death. - JoLeKosovo
Surprised this isn't higher. - truckturner
After being disbanded for almost 8 years, Daughters return with a mighty fine album. - cjWriter1997
Should be number 1 - benstewart1805
11 years after their last album came out. - winterbreeze
Sorry but we can't call it a comeback album because it technically isn't one. - ParasN2000
Saved a genre, this man is a god
Should be at number 1
Can we call it a comeback album if it was just one bad album behind a return of the roots album, I would think MMLP 2 was his comeback album - germshep24
A great album, shocked nobody votes for it
I'm shocked and insulted nobody put this on the list before me. The last album before this one was Dear Agony, which was released in 2009. This album was released in 2015. After Dear Agony, Benjamin Burnley (the singer) got ill and some members left, but they came back! This album should be #1 because not only it was released 6 years after the last one, but also because in my opinion, that was their best album of all!
WHY IS IT SO LOW? IT WAS 16 YESTERDAY AND IT IS 45 NOW? SERIOUSLY? PUT THIS AT #1!
Definitely the best album klf made. Sweet solos made by him. A cool reprise of faded. Awesome Album cover... The reasons vary!
After a series of bad albums with a Black Sabbath (Sabotage, Technical Ecstacy, Never Say Die), Ozzy made a much needed move away from Black Sabbath with his solo career and it worked wonders make back to back wonderful albums this Diary of a Mad Man and Bark at the Moon - germshep24
From the depths of their classic folky roots. Heart restorm the charts with a slick clean album. With the then sound of the 80s. Heart showed the new comers that the 70s artists where not past it. Such a great reinvention of a band that stills rocks great albums out over 30+ years later since this release. Christ, there should be a few Todd Rundgren albums up here too.
After being on hiatus since 2000, the band had reunited; They started getting back together around 2003, but it was not until 2011 that they recorded a new album. And it was great.
Moreover, I notice many albums on here are not technically comeback albums. This one is. - JoLeKosovo
So. You're a legendary progressive band. You go on hiatus after multiple lineup changes. You return seven years later with a different lineup, again. And you proceed to create an acclaimed prog masterpiece.
The secret? The lineup. Adrian Belew, Robert Fripp, Tony Levin and Bill Bruford are ridiculously talented in their fields. Bravo, King Crimson, bravo. - JoLeKosovo
This Album Combines The Greatness Of Cypress Hill And 90's Beats.
Heck Yeah - cypresshillbiggestfan
Definitely a great comeback album!
Not a comeback album. - JoLeKosovo
