The Top Ten
1 State Anthem of the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics)

A beutiful anthem that creates the feelings of pride in the world's first Socialist country and the workers' victories over Reaction and Fascism.

So iconic, it invokes such a feeling of patriotism even if you never visited it.

2 Auferstanden aus Ruinen (German Democratic Republic)

A beutiful song (better than Deutschlandlied, in my opinion) that illustrates the day that Germany and its people rebuild their fatherland after World War II.

3 March of the Volunteers (People's Republic China)

It's a simple anthem that encourages the people to rise up against their oppressors.

4 Mila Rodino (People's Republic of Bulgaria)

It is a very patriotic song with a great tune.

5 Kde domov můj and Nad Tatrou sa bkýska (Czechislovak Socialist Republic)

It two anthems with basically, the same tune (with different lyrics in Czech and Slovakian). It is a calming song.

6 Hey, Slavs (Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia)

A great anthem dedicated to the Slavic peoples and it helps reflect how Tito was able to unite many different peoples under one flag.

7 La Bayamesa (Republic of Cuba)

A very patriotic anthem that reflects Cuba's independence from Spain.

8 Himnusz (Hungarian People's Republic)

Interestingly, as the original song was somewhat religious, the government tried to change the anthem into more of a Communist anthem, but they eventually decided to just use this song without the lyrics.

9 Aegukka (Democratic People's Republic of Korea)

A great patriotic song from the infamous North Korea.

10 Tiến Quân Ca (Socialist Republic of Vietnam)

An anthem about the soldiers leading the Vietnamese people to victory.

The Contenders
