Top Ten Competitively Unique Pokemon

THIS IS NOT A LIST OF TOP TEN BEST POKEMON. I want to be VERY clear on that and I am very much aware there are plently of lists similar to those lines. What makes this list different is I am only including Pokemon who are specifically unique COMPETITIVELY, they stand out and are used very differently than most other Pokemon. They aren't exactly good, they aren't exactly bad. These special Pokemon are meant to be gimmicy, resulting in strange competitive uses.
The Top Ten
1 Ditto Ditto, known in Japan as Metamon, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

The ability to transform into your oppenent, copying stat boosts, typing, ability, everything. Pokemon breeders should be well familiar with this little guy, as he is very important in breeding, taking the form of different Pokemon and utilizing their strengths. You can imagine how Ditto can take advantage of a strong opponent by simply transforming into it! What holds it back is Ditto molecular HP, the only stat that isn't copied. This is often fixed by giving him a Focus Sash or Choice Scarf though. It's funny how just a pink blob makes such a big reputation.

2 Zoroark Zoroark is a dark type Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game freak's Pokémon franchise. It evolves from zorua at level 30.

Zoroark is as mischievous as he looks, courtesy of its ability Illusion. Similary to Ditto's Imposter, Zoroark takes the form of a different Pokemon, but on YOUR team. It technically isn't a transformation but an illusion, because Zoroark doesn't copy anything from the Pokemon except its indistinguishable appearance. This causes obvious problems in a battle because the opponent won't know if he's fighting a Zoroark or not! He is a sneaky trickster, to say the least.

If you are playing competitively, zoroark is a beast depending on who he is disguising as. Disguising as a Pokemon 4 times weak to Psychic when there is a psychic type as your opponent is a free hit! If your faster then you can kill them without even revealing yourself! How O.P is that?

Surely gives a headache to the opponents in competitive battling. The beginning strategy (whatever they had) can be partially foiled. Like let Zoroark take the appearance of your team's Gengar.

You should disguise it as a confragious. If your opponent uses a psychic type move it, has no effect because it is a Zoroak You swap into a real confragious. Your opponent use a fighting type move against it but it is a confragious not a Zoroak and is actually a ghost type and has no effect.
It trolls people.

3 Shedinja

What is possibly the best trait any Pokemon can have? Well, not being hurt by anything obviously! Shedinja quite possibly comes closer to that then any other Pokemon could with its crazily overpowered ability Wonder Guard. Wonder Guard gives Shedinja immunity to any direct attack that isn't super effective, giving it a total of 13 immunities! However, there's a lethal catch. Shedinja can only have 1 HP regardless, meaning if it gets hurt, it gets HURT. This flaw ruins Shedinja severely as there are tons of ways to inflict damage indirectly (i.E. Hail, Spikes, Poison, etc). Shedinja doesn't have much support in its base stats or learnset either, hindering Shedinja as nothing more but a lost cause. That's quite fitting too, as Shedinja itself is ghostly remains of an evolved Nincada.

If you hack you can get a sturdy shedinja. Shedinja has a max HP of 1 so it will never die.

Shedinja is useful it knows mud slap

4 Smeargle

One move: Sketch. This glorious move allows Smeargle to copy any move in the game except Sketch, Chatter, and Struggle. Sporting the largest movepool possible, there are literally TONS of roles Smeargle can play competitivly, the sky is the limit. Definitely a unique threat, Smeargle puts the "un" in unpredictable.

5 Aegislash Aegislash is a fictional creature in the Pokemon Franchise. Introduced in Gen 6, it is a Steel/Ghost Pokemon. It is the evolved form of Doublade, and the final evolve form of Honedge. Classified as the Royal Sword Pokemon, it is said to detect innate qualities of leadership. According to legend, anyone who is recognizes as a royal leader by Aegislash is destinied to become king. Its signature moves, King's Shield, protects it from attacks, as well as halving the attack stat of a Pokemon that comes into physical contact when the move was used.

Whether you were aware or not, there was a lot of hype for Pokemon X and Y, specifically amongst the competitive fanbase. A special type combination has been awaited since Pokemon Gold and Silver, and that would be the great Steel/Ghost type! Game Freak knows there's a huge competitive community, and they proved it by creating Aegislash, the competitive player's holy grail. This chivalric Pokemon is an example of how a gimmick goes horribly right. Shield Aegislash has impenetrable 150 base defense and sp defense on top of 9 resistances and 3 immunities. It doesn't stop there, when it enters Blade form, it swaps to 150 attack and sp attack, giving it the ability to switch from offensive to defensive whenever it feels. Top it off even more by giving it great moves such as King's Shield, Shadow Sneak, Swords Dance, Automize, and Sacred Sword. Aegislash is simply too good to be true!

6 Shuckle Shuckle, known in Japan as Tsubotsubo, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Base 230 defense and sp defense is high enough to make a grown man cry. Shuckle here actually sports both, having both highest defense and sp defense in the game. As scary as it may sound, Shuckle is particularly harmless, literally. His regular offense are among the bottom five, in fact the rest of his stats are pitifully low as well. Shuckle can't even use his steller defenses properly either due to such slow HP. Regardless, Shuckle can still be really fun to use. A popular move to give Shuckle is Power Trick, which swaps his defense stats with his offense stats, giving him base 230 attack and sp attack! No other Pokemon as such zany stat distribution to date!

Have you ever tried Mew transforming into shuckle in doubles?

7 Wobbuffet

Wobbuffet! Literally just a punching back. What makes Wobbuffet so unique is its move pool, it can only learn seven different moves, none of which are direct attacks. The chosen moves, however, are designed to reflect back the opponents attack with twice as much damage! The foe can't even cower because of his ability, Shadow Tag, which prevents escape, forcing you to continue fighting. With a base HP of 190, Wobbuffet has no problem at all absorbing in a hit and throwing it right back with Counter or Mirror Coat. A whole new level of strategy was born when Wobbuffet's pre-evolution Wynaut hit the scene in Ruby and Sapphire. They were given Encore, which forces the opponent to keep using the same move three turns in a row. That makes and easier prediction so Counter or Mirror Coat work effectively. The two have been through a lot the past couple of years, falling from the titen Uber tier in DPP all the way down to the newly created PU tier. Either way, you had better beware when facing ...more

8 Slaking Slaking, known in Japan as Kekking, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Here lies a classic case of wasted talent. Slaking has what will become a developed theme throughout this list; great stats. Slaking great stats are nothing but useless, thanks to his ability Truant. Truant forces the user to goof of, wasting every other turn. Game Freak is just a bunch of trolls, the invention of Slaking proves it exactly. There are actually multiple Pokemon who suffer this fate, namely Regigigas and Archeops, but I have chosen Slaking because he happens to be a prime (ate) example of a hindering ability. As a result of this, the only competitive set Slaking can perform is a hit and run tactic. Leaving in Slaking generally is considered a bad idea as opponents can easily take advantage of the free turn Truant gives. I guess Slaking here just want to do things his own way...

9 Deoxys Deoxys, known in Japan as the same name, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Deoxys can appear in four different forms, Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed. Each of these forms have power greatly invested in its respective form. While each Deoxys performs rather similarly in competitive battling, it is interesting how each form usually has the highest base stat of its kind. Deoxys-Speed is the fastest Pokemon in the game, making it ripe for setting up as a lead. Deoxys-Attack also has the highest attack and sp attack in the game, on top of its blistering speed. Whichever form you choose, Deoxys is no disappointment.

10 Gardevoir Gardevoir is a third-generation Pokémon species originally introduced as a Psychic type creature in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
The Contenders
11 Wishiwashi
12 Delphox Delphox, known in Japan as Mahoxy, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

No Pokemon gets as much hate as Delphox.

13 Eevee Eevee, known in Japan as Eievui, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise first introduced in the games Pokemon Red and Blue. Considered as the evolution Pokemon, it has the most evolutions out of all Pokemon species. Eevee can evolve to Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon depending on the method used. It serves as the mascot in the game Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee!

I have to explain this: It can evolve so many types, called eeveelutions.

14 Vespiquen

It has THREE signature moves!

15 Unown Unown is a Psychic type Pokémon from the Johto region, taking on the form of letters and punctuation. It is often considered the weakest Pokémon, with low stats and access to only one move, Hidden Power (which can be learnt by nearly every Pokémon anyway)
16 Malamar Malamar, known in Japan as Calamanero, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Looking purely at this thing's design, you can tell there's gonna be something unique about Malamar. In fact, there is. Malamat is one of few Pokemon who can take advantage of the ability Contrary. Contrary reverses stat drops to stat changes will rise instead of fall and vise versa. Given a move like Superpower, which would normally lower attack and defense after use, it will rise instead! This trait is what makes Malamar so good, he is able to get strong and stronger the longer it's out. Relating to stat changes, Malamar gets a signiture move Topsy-Turvy, which will completely reverse all stat changed to an opponent. Will these valuable traits, Malamar can be a very high ceiling Pokemon competitivly. But it is not without its cons, however. Malamar is pretty lackluster when it hasn't built up on any Superpowers yet. He isn't very fast and is EXTREMELY vulnerable to bugs! But, if you switch him in at the perfect place at the perfect time, the results are deadly. So if you are ever to ...more

Your 3Ds has to be upside down to get it and there is nothing more unique than that

17 Houndour
18 Delibird

It can only learn Present w/o TMs. It is the only pokemon that can learn Present.

19 Muk Muk, known in Japan as Betbeton, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Stinky. That why it is unique

20 Sylveon Sylveon, known in Japan as Nymphia, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
21 Rotom Rotom, known in Japan as the same name, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Rotom has its own room and can change its form and type in there whenever you want. Each form have a spicific move only for the form. (And if you refuse to teach it, Rotom cannot go into the machine)

22 Salazzle

Salazzle is The ONLY Pokemon that can Poison Metal Type and Fire Type Pokemon because of its ability Corrosion.

23 Chatot

Since chatot can mock your voice at Nintendo 3ds, I think it is very unique and special. The player itself is able to control the effectiveness of its signature move, Chatter. but it has been deleted when gamers started "Chatter"ing bad words.
