Top Ten Contemporary Blues, Southern & Country-Rock Bands You Should Know About

While great Blues / Southern-Rock bands such Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, The Band, The Marshal Tucker Band are my favourites of these genres, now and again it's nice to venture out, to dip your toe in fresher waters. These bands are more often overlooked, overshadowed by the great classics. It's time to point the spotlight on these other bands in the Blues, Southern and Country-Rock Bands. 9 The Black Keys The Black Keys is an American indie rock and blues rock duo formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001 by Dan Auerbach (vocals, guitar) and Patrick Carney (drums). The band has often been compared to The White Stripes as they are also an indie rock duo, that works with low fidelity equipment. The band is most well-known for their 2011 album "El Camino", which contained some if the bands most well-known songs and earned two Grammys.

I hear them on the radio sometimes.
