Top Ten Best Cornerbacks Going Into the 2020 NFL Season

The Top Ten
1 Stephon Gilmore

Gilmore is the only correct answer here. He’s the reigning defensive player of the year, and the Patriots are lucky to have him. They are missing a lot of defensive players from last season, but Gilmore is not one of them.

2 Tre’Davious White

White rivaled Gilmore as the best cornerback in the NFL last season. He is a part of an elite Bills secondary. Don’t be surprised to see him compete for defensive player of the year this season.

3 Marlon Humphrey

The first team all-pro really shined for an elite Ravens team, though he was overshadowed by Marcus Peters. Not to mention how low he was on the Top 100 Players in the NFL list.

4 Jalen Ramsey Jalen Lattrel Ramsey is an American football cornerback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. He played college football at Florida State and was drafted by the Jaguars fifth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Ramsey had sort of a down season being traded from the Jaguars to the Rams. He only recorded one interception, but now he gets to play his first full season with the Rams. Expect more production from him.

5 Marcus Peters

Peters was a pick-six master last season, being traded from the Rams to the Ravens. He made an already good Ravens secondary elite. He made a good duo with Marlon Humphrey.

6 Darius Slay Darius Demetrius Slay, nicknamed "Big Play Slay", is an American football cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League.

Slay had a down season by his standards in Detroit last season, but now that he is in Philadelphia, expect him to help fix what was among the worst secondaries in the league last season.

7 Marshon Lattimore

Lattimore doesn’t get a lot of interceptions, but that barely matters. He is an elite player in a deep Saints secondary.

8 Richard Sherman Richard Kevin Sherman is an American football cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League.

Sherman had a resurgent second season with the 49ers last season, being named a second team all-pro. He is getting older, but his play hasn’t slipped much.

9 Byron Jones
10 Joe Haden Joseph Walter Haden III is an American football cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.

Haden is getting older like Sherman, but his age didn’t show in one of the best seasons of his career with the Steelers last season.

The Contenders
11 Xavien Howard
12 Chris Harris Jr. Christopher Harris Jr. is an American football cornerback for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League.
13 Jaire Alexander
14 Casey Hayward
