Top Ten Best Cornerbacks Going Into the 2020 NFL Season
Gilmore is the only correct answer here. He’s the reigning defensive player of the year, and the Patriots are lucky to have him. They are missing a lot of defensive players from last season, but Gilmore is not one of them.
White rivaled Gilmore as the best cornerback in the NFL last season. He is a part of an elite Bills secondary. Don’t be surprised to see him compete for defensive player of the year this season.
The first team all-pro really shined for an elite Ravens team, though he was overshadowed by Marcus Peters. Not to mention how low he was on the Top 100 Players in the NFL list.
Ramsey had sort of a down season being traded from the Jaguars to the Rams. He only recorded one interception, but now he gets to play his first full season with the Rams. Expect more production from him.
Peters was a pick-six master last season, being traded from the Rams to the Ravens. He made an already good Ravens secondary elite. He made a good duo with Marlon Humphrey.
Slay had a down season by his standards in Detroit last season, but now that he is in Philadelphia, expect him to help fix what was among the worst secondaries in the league last season.
Lattimore doesn’t get a lot of interceptions, but that barely matters. He is an elite player in a deep Saints secondary.
Sherman had a resurgent second season with the 49ers last season, being named a second team all-pro. He is getting older, but his play hasn’t slipped much.
Haden is getting older like Sherman, but his age didn’t show in one of the best seasons of his career with the Steelers last season.
