Top 10 Countries With the Best Singers and Bands
Filipinos are best known for singing, no matter what age, race, gender, or whether they are a professional or just a simple citizen of the country. I think it's part of their culture. Karaoke is everywhere. Most Filipino families used to celebrate birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and other special events with karaoke. That's why it has been adapted by generations.
Obviously, Filipinos are known for bananas, mangoes, food delicacies, and islands. However, Filipinos are also good at singing, which you can find everywhere. Filipinos barely use auto-tunes. You can try it and you can ask someone for them to sing something to you, and it's really great, I swear. But because of their economics, or whatever it's called, their talents for singing are not well-known around the world. Also, some of them are too shy, or they do not realize what a great talent they have. They keep looking down on themselves, but not all of them. There are still Filipinos who are showing their great talents not only in their country but also to the world.
I really have many things to say about their singing, but I hope this helps.
I don't care what anyone says, America created the most popular genres in the world. So, all these people saying K-pop is good should remember they use a lot of auto-tune as well. Because in reality, they can't sing any better than anyone else. They are literally just popular off their looks. I think India also has some really great singers, especially Latin Americans with beautiful voices like Luis Miguel, Yuri, and Ricardo Montaner. But either way, America will be number one regardless because it created the remarkable genres we have today.
Plus, I have not seen any better singers than Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, among many other legendary artists. As for the Philippines, I don't really have much of an opinion on why it's number 1. I have never heard any type of Pinoy music, so I can't say it's bad or good. But I think America deserves its place.
QUEEN! That's all that needs to be said. The greatest band on the planet. EVER! Most talented, most awesome, most eclectic, and absolutely the most phenomenal band ever to grace the Earth! QUEEN will always be the very BEST! They sound totally new, fresh, relevant, and oh so timeless. Never old, stale, dated, or boring like a lot of others. Every song is so different from any other. No two sound even similar. They're so completely diverse, from the intensity of Stone Cold Crazy and Dead On Time to the loveliness of Love Of My Life and Save Me, there is something for everyone.
QUEEN is truly jaw-droppingly awesome, with four of the most talented musical geniuses ever, symbiotically weaving their brilliance into a treasure trove of sheer ecstasy! QUEEN!
Canada should be after the United States. Canadian singers rock! There are so many: Shania Twain, Avril Lavigne, Victoria Duffield, Alyssa Reid.
Justin Bieber is from Canada, and his songs drive people crazy.
It borders Norway to the west and Finland to the east, and is connected to Denmark in the southwest by a bridge-tunnel across the Öresund. At 450,295 square kilometers (173,860 sq mi), Sweden is the third-largest... read more
We have Avicii, Robyn, ABBA and we have won the Eurovision Song Contest 6 times. We are the most beautiful people walking this earth...
PewDiePie. Okay? We have the best singers.
Well, AC/DC has sold over 90 million albums. The Bee Gees have sold over 80 million albums, and Olivia Newton-John has sold 30 million albums. These three artists started their recording careers in Australia. But other Australian music exports like INXS, The Little River Band, Kylie Minogue, and Men At Work have all sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
Some more include Silverchair, with over 10 million albums sold, John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes (solo) and Cold Chisel "combined," and country singer Slim Dusty with over 6 million albums sold. That's all quite impressive for a country of 24 million people.
I am surprised this is not first. After all, most classical composers came from Germany. Besides, they have a nice, strong voice filled with accent.
Finland has to be in the TOP 10! Apocalyptica, Finntroll, Korpiklaani, Negative, Children Of Bodom, Hanoi Rocks, Nightwish...
As far as French bands go, well, pretty much everyone's familiar with the likes of Daft Punk, Air, and Justice (whose new album is out this week). But that's not all there is to French music, you know. The country has given rise to a number of fascinating musical movements over the years, from the modern chanson of the 1960s through the cold wave of the 1980s (check out this excellent compilation if that genre interests you, by the way) and the more recent explosion of French dance music.
The Carmen opera from the French composer Bizet is the most played in the world. From Bizet to Daft Punk, passing by Edith Piaf and French RAP (2nd in the world behind the USA), France should be higher.
Norwegians have the most beautiful voices in the world. Their voices sound even better when they sing.
Norway should be higher. It has really great singers and bands.
It is situated 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington,... read more
I don't understand why New Zealand is so far down when it rightfully should be up there at the top. Most people in NZ can sing, and that's no exaggeration. The Maori culture has a big music influence. There's not a soul in NZ who doesn't know at least two people in their own family that can sing.
New Zealand has so many great country singers and songwriters, like Lorde and Brooke Fraser. Most people in NZ write their own songs or sing great songs in new ways.
NZ singers are amazing! Such soulful tunes. I'm glad it's at 8th, but we need it higher!
Indian classical music is the best in the world. Even some from the West come to learn Indian music. No other country has music as soothing as Carnatic and Hindustani music. As a learner of Carnatic music and someone who has listened to Western music too, I proudly say that our music is far ahead. However, it often goes underrated. Many Indians are blindly following the West. Even many Indian songs now are composed in Western scales, which is not good. Our music is our identity. Punjabi music, Hindustani music, and Carnatic music must be the top three.
This is so biased. Who the hell did this research! I disagree with South Korea being 20th. There are so many more strong singers in South Korea than even in America or the UK. However, as most South Koreans don't sing in English and the fact that South Korean music isn't marketed globally, you can't really benchmark Korean music. What the West is exposed to is just the tip of the iceberg. Even some of the world's best musicians are from South Korea.
South Koreans are extremely tenacious and don't settle for mediocrity as a nation. There is so much competition, and if you don't keep up with producing music regularly, you just don't make it in South Korea. Hence, most Korean artists study music and singing and are way better than Americans, who often don't know technique. Filipinos, I believe, probably have natural talent, but here again, it's because they sing English songs. I have watched singing competitions and noticed how many are really good in America and the UK. You can really count on your fingers. Watch South Korean shows, and 90% of entrants sing extremely well.
Lebanese singers have great talent and voice. They can also speak fluently in three languages. The best singers are like Elissa, Nancy Ajram, and Myriam Fares.
We have the best DJs who are known worldwide, and a lot of the shows they have in other countries began in the Netherlands, for example, The Voice of...
Just watch The Voice of Holland, and you'll understand!
U2, Enya, The Dubliners, The Pogues, Ronan Keating, and so on. Ireland has, in my opinion, the best artists.
Ireland's singers have a distinct voice compared to others if you get what I'm saying.
I mostly heard of it through anime. But even if the language barrier is present, the emotions reach.
Just think of great bands like L'arc en Ciel or X Japan—that's just the cherry on top! There are lots of great artists in Japan, and they can perform without autotune (mostly, anyways, lol). And not all good Japanese music is in anime; in fact, anisongs can't be compared to the real thing. Anyways, it's better than most music from the USA. I'm neither American nor Japanese.
Are you kidding? Pakistani singers are actually the best. I don't like being biased because I haven't checked out some of the countries that are top on here, but in this case, it's Pakistan that's underrated. NFAK would have performances where English people would go to see even! And we need more of that today because Pakistani classical music is the best. They are just killing it in every genre of music, if I'm honest, but sometimes there's such low exposure, well, because it's Pakistan. And that's sad.
This is true. Bands were popular during the 90s, and around that period, Pakistan's pop scene was flourishing. At present, I think looking at everything Pakistan has to offer, they have definitely made their mark and done justice to music that Pakistan has always excelled in. Bands are very much alive in Pakistan. I wish the world could give Pakistan a chance of listening to their music too.
Shakira, people! Also, Juanes and every singer of urban music is somehow related to them. I believe they need bigger appreciation.
Colombia has Shakira, the maximum Latin American female artist, and Juanes, the top male artist with the most Latin Grammys. Also, rising stars are J Balvin, Maluma, & Karol G.
