England can trace its history as far back as the 10th century, but modern England didn't start till the Norman Invasion of 1066. We do! We really really do! We do. We do. We do! It's okay, just trying to convince myself. I say we do, what I mean is, we DID. England hasn't produced a really good belly-laugh inducing sitcom since the 1990s. But she still tries, bless her.
I agree that England should be first on this list as England really does have the best sitcoms and the best sense of humor - but United States at #4? What is this person going on about?
Where do I start? Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Bleak Expectations, Only Fools, Dad's Army, Fawlty Towers, The Young Ones; and so many more! And they're all hilarious! Who wouldn't vote UK?
It's the English accents that do it. Say the same line from an English sitcom with a Yankee accent and it just wouldn't have the same effect.
You're right. With sitcoms like these, USA shouldn't be second. They shouldn't even be on this list!
The United States is better than England.
I like Father Ted. American comedy is too stupid. English humor is also very funny, with Fawlty Towers being my fave.
