Italy has so many iconic landmarks, which give an idea to tourists of what Italy's like. Italy's landmarks are easily identifiable and aren't overrated.

My favorite landmark is the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It's unique since it's slanted because of the land where it built.

Milan Cathedral, Colosseum in Rome, Leaning Tower in Pisa, Arena in Verona, Pompeii Ruins near Naples, Dolomites in Trentino-Altoadige, Ponte Vecchio in Florence! They're not simply Italy's landmarks: they're world landmarks.

The Eiffel tower is the most visited building in the world and the most expensive about 420 billions dollars.
Le Louvre is the most visited museum in the world.
France itself the most visited country in the world, with 83,000,000 foreign tourists in 2016 (despite of terrorist attacks).
The Mont Saint-Michael, the most beautiful historical fortification, abbey (as Island) in the world (Unesco).
Some less known like the Millau Bridge, highest bridge in the world.
Landmarks like in French Polynesia; Tahiti, Bora-Bora are unique for a European country, added the rain forest of French Guyana and you can imagine.
