Top 10 Cover Songs of the 2010sMetal_Treasure
The Top Ten
Excellent Black Sabbath cover.
Havok are a new(er) thrash metal band. No disrespect to Black Sabbath but I like the cover better than the original. Love that double bass drumming they added.
By the way, Children of the Grave is my fave Black Sabbath song with Ozzy. - Metal_Treasure
I mean is a good list but a better title to this list would be "best metal covers of 2010s" - Pato_cargo
I disagree - this list is open to all music genres. Also, this list got to #1 on the Hottest New Lists. Seems people liked it a lot. And obviously nobody cared about your opinion. - Metal_Treasure
Awesome. Pure Emotion.
#9? Best cover EVER, vote this baby to the top!
Better than the original. - Solarian
Disturbed may not be the best band but this is great, even Ill say that - EliHbk4 Comments
2014. Dio cover. - Metal_Treasure
Everyone needs to listen to this cover of Fleetwood Mac, it is one of the most chilling songs I've ever heard. It cuts very deep. - Y2K
2014. Falco cover by a German metal band. The original is sick! And the cover, too!
The song refers to Mozart. - Metal_Treasure
Deep Purple cover. It's a live version that was so good that was included in the tribute album "Re-Machined: A Tribute to Deep Purple's Machine Head." Chickenfoot is the band of Joe Satriani. - Metal_Treasure
I really dig this cover. Joe Satriani's playing here is awesome, and the whole band is riding on full cylinders. - Gg2000
Yes, they were riding on full cylinders and this is the only correct way to play Deep Purple. Because Deep Purple also rode on full cylinders. - Metal_Treasure
Tame Impala cover.
Better than 100% of Taylor Swift's songs about nothing interesting.
This is actually a really good cover. - The01Bro
2018. A really good cover. Originally by Toto, 1982 - Metal_Treasure
Amazing cover5 Comments
2013. Thin Lizzy cover. The best song on Megadeth's album Super Collider, LOL. Super Collider was really bad. - Metal_Treasure
2014. Bee Gees rock/metal cover. Love it. Play the sample to hear the vocals without the original falsetto. Sounds better to me. - Metal_Treasure
Cheers for introducing me to this song. Nice cover! - punksnotdead
It sounds cool - PatrickStar3
A cover of a song by the Cranberries.
This is probably the best cover this year, and just so so good anyways - EliHbk
It's like a tribute to Dolores O'Riordan who died in 2018 at 46. She was the singer for The Cranberries. R.I.P. Dolores. - Metal_Treasure
Rufus & Chaka Khan cover. - Martin_Canine
Deep Purple cover. It was on the album "Re-Machined: A Tribute to Deep Purple's Machine Head." - Metal_Treasure
Rainbow cover - Metal_Treasure
Ke$ha cover. - Martin_Canine
That's very interesting. I know Meryl Streep sang ABBA in the film Mamma Mia but still. And Cher still has it at her age! Amazing.
Thanks for this song, Martin! (and for all other songs you added to this list! ) - Metal_Treasure
ABBA cover. - Martin_Canine
Both versions were big hits in Austria, with this cover version being slightly more successful, topping the charts while the original peaked at number two. Both get lots of airplay now (the original version in The Magician Remix).
I personally prefer the cover version on any level. Vocals, overall guitar based style, whistle segment. - Martin_Canine
Lykke Li cover. - Martin_Canine
Disney/Bette Midler cover - Martin_Canine
Grauzone cover. - Martin_Canine
Cacophony cover (Cacophony is the band of Jason Becker and Marty Friedman, ex-Megadeth) - Metal_Treasure
I like this cover. - Gg2000
I like that J. Fla's vocals aren't as digitally butchered as Cabello's, although it does lack the characteristic brass segment and the second verse. Both versions have their pros and cons. - Martin_Canine
Camila Cabello cover. - Martin_Canine
It's technically a cover because it's originally by Megaherz, but Eisbrecher was founded by former members of Megaherz, namely the singer and keyboarder. - Martin_Canine
Megaherz cover. - Martin_Canine
The three songs are from a cover album in which German chanson singer Annett Louisan performs ten German language hit songs from all kinds of genres in her style. It's a really good listen, and I'd say she does all songs justice. - Martin_Canine
Rammstein cover. - Martin_Canine
Tokio Hotel cover. - Martin_Canine
I really like Tokio Hotel... but Kelly Clarkson nailed it better. Bill Kaulitz's autotuned voice turned the ballad into a dystopian, futuristic tune, fitting the album's tone, but Clarkson is more delicate, and I'd rather hear a minimalistic piano ballad with more natural sounding vocals. - Martin_Canine
Gary Moore and Phil Lynnot cover, 2015 - Metal_Treasure
Awesome Black Sabbath cover (Dio era). - Metal_Treasure
2011, A cover of a Fleetwood Mac song.
It’s from 2009, but I agree it’s a great cover. - 3DG20
2010, A cover of a Duran Duran song.
I love this song! I mean both the original and the cover. Thanks again, Martin. - Metal_Treasure
Die Toten Hosen are German legends, Falco was an Austrian legend. Actually weird this cover is so little known. - Martin_Canine
Falco cover. - Martin_Canine
So so good - EliHbk
It's a cover of a Third Eye Blind song.
Pink Floyd cover, 2018 - Metal_Treasure
Dio cover. - Metal_Treasure
A very good Annihilator cover. - Metal_Treasure
Ed Sheeran cover. - Martin_Canine
Is this a joke. Get this cancer off the internet - YeezySeasonApproaching
Blind Guardian cover, 2013.
Blind Guardian went death metal. Melodic death metal. - Metal_Treasure
Dire Straits cover - Metal_Treasure
Yamasuki cover. - Martin_Canine
The more often I listen to this, the less I like it. Rihanna CAN sing, as she shows on songs like "Love on the Brain" or "Higher" (although said tunes were recorded six years later, maybe she improved), but on here she audibly has to try very hard to hit the notes, and so the performance ultimately comes off as flawed. I initially liked it, because it sounds honest and emotional, but once that wears off, you're better off with the original. - Martin_Canine
Bob Marley cover. - Martin_Canine
