Top 10 Cover Songs Better Than the Original

The Contenders: Page 4

61 Say Something - Cheyenne Jackson and Jackie Evancho

Their marvelous duet from Jackie's PBS special "Awakening - In Concert".

62 Land of Confusion - Disturbed

Disturbed does it pretty badass, but I still like the Genesis version best.

Way better than the Genesis version

63 Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin
64 Sorry - Kristian Kostov
65 One Way or Another - One Direction

This cover is not better than the original! One Direction sucks dick!

This should be on the list of 'i needed a therapy after listening to this'

66 Friend of the Devil - Counting Crows
67 White Room - Demons & Wizards

A Cream cover - better than the original. Just give a listen. - Metal_Treasure

Sounds very similar to the original to me. It's personal preference but I can't see how you claim it's definitively better. To me, for a cover version to be regarded as "better" than an original that is considered great it needs to have a significantly different take or add outstanding unique elements that enhance the song - and it's still a difficult attempt - Billyv

68 Got to Get You Into My Life - Earth, Wind & Fire
69 Surfin' Bird - The Ramones
70 The Loco-Motion - Grand Funk Railroad
71 Titanium - Kristian Kostov
72 Anyway that You Want Me - Spiritualized
73 Forever Young - Youth Group
74 Grenade - Ariana Grande
75 Please Mr. Postman - The Beatles

It's good, but not as great as the others

76 Word Up! - Korn
77 The Rains of Castamere - Jackie Evancho

From "Game of Thrones", this has been covered by several other artists, but Jackie Evancho completely made it her own, and this version was formally released as a single by SONY Masterworks.

78 Surfin' USA - Blind Guardian
79 Venus - Bananarama
80 It's a Sin - The Cr├╝xshadows
