Top 10 Cover Versions of Blind Guardian Songs
Some of the songs were included in the Blind Guardian tribute album Tales From the Underworld, released in 2003. It had 14 songs. But on this list there are songs that weren't on the tribute album.
Heaven Shall Burn made a death metal cover of this Blind Guardian classic and invited the original singer Hansi Kursch to provide additional (clean) vocals. I think it worked out very well because Hansi voice added epicness to the cover (or, saved the epicness of the original).
I love how extreme metal bands actually listened to Blind Guardian (there are more extreme metal bands on this list).
A very good rendition by a Serbian metal band formed in 2009. To be honest, I don't know many Serbian metal bands and was quite surprised. Moreover, Numenor (Númenor) started as an epic black metal band that later incorporated symphonic and power metal elements. No, it isn't what you thought - this cover doesn't have any black metal air to it, it's pure power metal and the singer's got a surprisingly good clean voice. He used harsh vox only for 10 seconds and it was done so tastefully that honestly, I think it was great. They nailed the instrumental part as well.
Númenor is the name of the five pointed island given to the Dúnedain in the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien. Now I understand what these two bands have in common - Tolkien!
Delirious is a German thrash metal band and they made the original even more thrashy than it was. And I liked it. This cover song is from the Blind Guardian tribute album Tales From the Underworld.
Disforia is a US metal band formed in 2007 (Power/Progressive Metal)
It's a live version included in an album of the trio in 2007. A female singer provides the vocals and she's a great singer - very clean angelic voice yet powerful.
They used harsh vocals, making the song sound a bit extreme but I liked it.
They played this ballad much faster and it sounds like a fast power metal song. An interesting rendition that was on the Blind Guardian tribute album I mentioned.
An instrumental version on harp twins (there's a video clip on YT)
