Top 10 Most Cursed Sports Teams

These teams have not had much success in the past, whether it might be countless playoff heartbreak, or just being plain bad.
The Top Ten
1 Cleveland Browns The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Browns compete in the National Football League as a member team of the American Football Conference North division. The Cleveland Browns are one of the four teams to have never been to a Super Bowl, and one of two teams to go 0-16.

As much as I hate the Cleveland Browns(I'm a Steelers fan), I do feel bad for them since they have had little to no bright moments since the 64 NFL Championship win over the Baltimore Colts. I would say that I wish they could get better but I can't because it would be a disgrace to wish your rival was better, but apart from that, I do feel bad for Cleveland.

They've had a lot of bad luck over the years but something tells me Baker will be different. He may finally give that team something to celebrate besides just a win.

Until this team wins the championship, the Browns will forever be haunted by words that hurt a lot to the Brwons fans: The Retirement (Jim Brown), Red Right 88, The Drive, The Fumble, Bottlegate and worst of all The Move.
Its Joeysworld

2 Chicago Cubs The Chicago Cubs are an American professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. The Cubs compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the National League Central division.

The Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1909, its been 107 year streak on not winning a World Series, then finally, the Cubs won the World Series beating the Cleveland Indians.

Another reason why I hate voting just to express my opinion. Also, change the name of this list to 'Most cursed North American sports teams' it would suit this list a lot better.

Yeah yeah they broke the curse but it still doesn't mean it didn't happen. 108 years is a long time

3 Toronto Maple Leafs The Toronto Maple Leafs, officially the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club and often simply referred to as the Leafs, are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto, Ontario. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.

Like the Browns, was once a model franchise. But they haven't won the cup since 1967 and since then have been a doormat of the NHL.

4 Buffalo Bills The Buffalo Bills are a professional American football team based in the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area that competes in the National Football League. Buffalo Bills had the longest playoff drought of any team which came to an end in 2017.

This one speaks for itself. Went to four straight SB's, lost them all. Only sports team that hasn't been to the playoffs in the century.

I chose this team because they haven't made the playoffs in the last 16 years, until it finally broke in 2016.

I see nothing wrong with this being here considering that they have lost the most Super Bowls in consecutive appearances as well as having the most super bowls lost along with Minnesota. I would like to see Josh Allen bring a championship to Buffalo in 2022 hopefully or at least some point in my life this great dual threat guy will be the guy to do it and make Buffalo proud and be able to break the curse once and for all

GO BILLS! (These are words coming from a Steelers fan. I only want the Bills to win one because I would like to see more teams have their chance unless it is AFC North rivals or New England or for the moment, Tampa Bay).

5 Minnesota Vikings The Minnesota Vikings are an American football team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Vikings joined the National Football League as an expansion team in 1960, and first took the field for the 1961 season.

Being a Vikings fan myself, it was very painful to put them on the list. They're probably the "best" team to be on the list, but they have been ripping fan's hearts out for years and years.

Not a Vikings fan but the 2017 postseason was a perfect example. They had a Minneapolis miracle against New Orleans and then they followed that game with an absolute meltdown against Philadelphia who won the super bowl

Probably the 4th, maybe 3rd, most cursed team in the league after Detroit, Cincinnati, and then Cleveland. I mean cursed when I say playoff games. The Minnesota Vikings have 30 playoff losses, which is the most ever in NFL history. They lost 4 Super Bowls in an 8-season span. First, they were upset by Kansas City in 1969, then run over by Larry Csonka and Miami in 1973, ripped and torn apart by the Steel Curtain in 1974, and of course, beaten by total dominance by both the offense and defense by Oakland in 1976. Since then, every time they have gone to the NFC Championship, everything has gone wrong for them in the end. First, Gary Anderson missed the field goal in 1998, then Brett Favre threw the ball when he should not have, and finally succumbing to an underdog No. 1 seeded Philadelphia Eagles team led by a backup quarterback. No matter what happens in the regular season, everything just goes all wrong for them in the postseason.

6 Los Angeles Clippers The Los Angeles Clippers, often abbreviated as the LA Clippers, are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles.

Recently became good, but that doesn't erase their early years of being a doormat. They are one of three teams that have yet to make it to the Conference Finals

Chris Paul went to the rockets.

7 Detroit Lions The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team based in Detroit, Michigan. The Lions compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference North division. The Detroit Lions are one of the four teams to have never been to a Super Bowl, and also one of the two teams in history to go 0-16.

In the past last few years sure we made two playoff appearance only to lose go figure it's the Lions, anyways since then we have lost big major pieces of our team like Ndamukong Suh, Calvin Johnson, & Stephen Tulloch in a way. Now entering this new season I am approaching it with an open mind as if I know what will happen no need to overreact the result will be the same to me and hope for better of this team. If I'm correct in the future, If Stafford incredibly under performs to his expectations this year combined with terrible coaching then they should be considered top 5, If not top 3 I have suffered with this team for quite a long time of losing seasons and typical results over and over.

I feel like Detroit wouldn't be so bad if not for Bobby Layne cursing them after being traded to Pittsburgh(my favorite team). It's been almost 65 years since they have won a championship and in my opinion, it's all Bobby Layne's fault(this is only to be funny, I not blaming the former star). Plus only one playoff win in the last 65 years. This team needs to start rising just like Cincinnati did this year(despite the fact that I was completely against them winning Super Bowl 56).I may not be a fan of the Detroit Lions but I do feel bad for those who are fans. The worst of it all for this snakebit team was when 50 years ago when Chuck Hughes died on the field of a heart attack and clogged arteries. This team is nothing but despair, tragedy, sadness, and lost causes. I really do feel bad for all of Detroit even for going 0-16 in 2008 once also. I can go on and on about the worst things in Lions history of bad things that have happened but I think I've covered everything that is good enough.

8 Texas Rangers The Texas Rangers are an American professional baseball team based in Arlington, Texas located in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

A lot of you guys will be against me, but I decided the Rangers are haunted enough to deserve a spot on the list. Made it to two straight World Series, but lost them both, the latter in agonizing fashion.

9 Philadelphia Eagles The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional football franchise based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Eagles compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference East division.

I still can't believe they made it to the NFC Championship game four straight years in a row, yet made the SB only once, losing to New England. Their fans will tell you that as successful as they have been in the regular season, they are almost guaranteed to choke in the playoffs.

10 San Jose Sharks The San Jose Sharks are a professional ice hockey team based in San Jose, California. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League.

I'll admit it, I had a tough time deciding who should have taken #10, but the Sharks are one of those teams that will do really well in the regular season, only to choke in the playoffs.

The Contenders
11 Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks
12 Buffalo Sabres The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The perfect team to be cursed, here's a few reasons, the Broad Street Bullies beat the Sabres IN Buffalo in the 1975 Stanley Cup Finals, "No Goal" in the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals, the breakup of the French Connection, the tragic death of Tim Horton, the 1992-93 Canadiens in a 7-game heartbreak loss, the Non-Goal that counted in the Flyers ellimnating the Sabres in the 2000 playoffs, 6 head coaches since 2013, the firing of Ted Nolan despite being named the NHL Coach of the Year, and so on

13 New York Knicks The New York Knickerbockers, commonly referred to as the Knicks, are an American professional basketball team based in the borough of Manhattan, in New York City.

Yes they've been good and at times great BUT since 1973, never won the NBA Championship. Among the key curses we're signing Spencer Haywood, Bob McAdoo (even though he still had good seasons even in New York), Marvin Webster, The injury of Scoring sensation Bernard King in 1985, The Bulls of the late 1980s and into 1993, Larry Brown as head coach and even Lenny Wilkens as head coach, John Starks' awful 1994 nba finals Game 7 performance and finally Phil Jackson as General Manager.

15 Washington Capitals The Washington Capitals (colloquially known as the Caps) are a professional ice hockey team based in Washington, D.C. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference. The Capitals are owned by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, headed by Ted Leonsis. From 1974 to 1997 the Capitals played their home games at the Capital Centre, in... read more

Washington Capitals--Sharks joined the NHL in 91, Caps have been breaking their fans hearts since 74

16 Cleveland Indians The Cleveland Guardians are an American professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Guardians compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the American League Central division.

The Cleveland Baseball Club should win it all...but they ditched their good players. They should rename the team The Cleveland Naps next year because we'll be sleeping throughout their games until 2068!

They blew the World Series to the Cubs a few years ago. And being in Cleveland doesn't help.

17 Detroit Pistons The Detroit Pistons are an American professional basketball team based in Detroit, Michigan. The Pistons compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Central Division.
18 Arizona Cardinals The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football franchise based in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

They haven't won any championships since 1947.

19 Atlanta Falcons The Atlanta Falcons are a professional American football team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Falcons compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference South division.

After witnessing them blow a 28-3 lead in the super bowl I'd say it must have been a curse.

20 Minnesota Timberwolves The Minnesota Timberwolves are an American professional basketball team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
21 Toronto Raptors The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association, as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Atlantic Division.

23 Phoenix Suns
