Actually, I went to Colombia this year, and I saw it's an AMAZING place to live in. Really. I did some research and Colombia is actually leaving all the negative lists (danger and kidnapping) and is being welcomed by list such as greenest countries, most innovative cities 2012 (because of Medellin), CIVETS (a bit like the BRIC's),... And yeah, today's situation in Mexico does remind everyone of the old Colombian drug war, which haunted Colombia's image for years and still does, but less.
