The movie is about a baby lamb who's mother is killed by a wolf and the lamb wants to kill the wolf in retaliation, he is eventually taken under the wolf's wing so he too can become more like him when the lamb grows up he turns into this very dark and grotesque ram with devil like horns, the wolf orders him to attack the sheep house that he grew up in he almost does it but is unable to and instead kills the wolf and all the sheep reject him because of what he has become and ends up becoming a loner. - egnomac
Definitely Top 10 material.

That claymation is kind of creepy at times. ESPECIALLY with The Mysterious Stranger.
Dark and creepy the story of a girl who is lead through a door in her new house that leads to a parallel similar to her own world only better only to find its all a trap set up by Other Mother who wants to lure Coraline into her world so she devour her. - egnomac

This movie is not only dark but incredibly depressing about an retired couple who survive a bomb blast and find nearly everything destroyed by the nuclear bomb blast and as days pass they get sick from exposure to the radioactive fallout but continue to be in complete denial being assured that everything is going to be all right despite things getting worst the movie ends with the dying couple getting into paper sacks as they crawl back into the shelter as they prepare for the inevitable. - egnomac
It may be an animated movie for adults but its pretty dark taking place mostly at a supermarket where food comes to life who sing to the gods aka the humans and look forward to being chosen and taken to the great beyond which is all a lie as most of them quickly realize the horrifying truth that awaits them after leaving the store. - egnomac
I'm not gonna lie to you: I was actually kinda of scared of this movie when I was first saw it as a kid, but when I watched again as I got a little older, it's actually one of my favorites now. A word of advice, though: don't show any movies like this to your little ones, at least until they're old enough to watch them.

Don Bluth's first major animated movie considered to be his best had plenty of dark moments including the flashback to when the rats were experimented on by the people of NIMH, Mrs. Brisby going to see the great owl knowing how dangerous it is and the possibility that she could get eaten then in the movie's climax main villain Jenner plots to have Nicodemus assassinated so he can easily convince the others to stay at the farm and continue to leech off the farmers resources which succeeds then leads to a deadly battle with Justin all while Mrs. Brisby's home with her family sinking. - egnomac
