Debut Albums Considered the Weakest/Worst of Their Band

The Top Ten

1 Pablo Honey - Radiohead Pablo Honey - Radiohead Product Image

The unpopular Pablo Honey, despite being far from being a bad album, people always put as the worst Radiohead album by a reason, not only it aged poorly compared to their later work, it's also the only Radiohead album when they tried more to be on a musical trend (Grunge) instead of creating their own identity

Pablo Honey and King of Limbs be like: "I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo, What the hell am I doing here?, I don't belong here."

I am jealous it wasn't me who thought of this list idea

Pablo honey is the worst one correct

2 I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love - My Chemical Romance I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love - My Chemical Romance Product Image

Not really a bad album, but compared to Three Cheers of Black Parade, is not as well constructed or interesting as the other albums, despite being arguably the heaviest/most agressive MCR album

I love it, but Three Cheers wins by a lot

3 Bleach - Nirvana Bleach - Nirvana Product Image

Now Bleach is far from being a bad album, arguably is the best album on the list, however we need to remember that is the album that came before Nevermind and In Utero, even if is not a bad album, it's still the weakest out of Nirvana's studio albums

4 All We Know is Falling - Paramore All We Know is Falling - Paramore Product Image

Kinda similar case to Pablo Honey, not really as inventive or interesting as their later albums, and aged way worse than the rest of their stuff

5 Speak and Spell - Depeche Mode Speak and Spell - Depeche Mode Product Image

Similar case to Pablo Honey and AWKIF, compared to the rest of Depeche Mode's catalog, is neither as strong as their later albums, specially the stuff between Black Celebration to Ultra

6 Confusion is Sex - Sonic Youth Confusion is Sex - Sonic Youth Product Image

This case is really interesting because is not really their weakest or less interesting album, but kind of their most inaccessible, Sonic Youth's albums might not be really catchy or accessible, but this one is definitely hard to get, compared to their later output

7 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Red Hot Chili Peppers Red Hot Chili Peppers - Red Hot Chili Peppers Product Image

RHCP's debut album has some similar feel to Pablo Honey, compared to the rest of their stuff it hasn't aged too well and is not a replayable as the rest of their other albums

8 Dinosaur - Dinosaur Jr. Dinosaur - Dinosaur Jr. Product Image

Similar feel between Pablo Honey and Bullets, is not a bad album, but compared to the rest of stuff that Dinosaur Jr. has made through their lifetime, this one is not as strong

9 Metal Magic - Pantera

Now most of the albums from this list are here just because they are weak compared to the rest of their band's output, but this one is so far the only album from the list that is really bad, in almost every single aspect

10 Sounding the Seventh Trumpet - Avenged Sevenfold Sounding the Seventh Trumpet - Avenged Sevenfold Product Image

Kinda self-explanatory, but to be honest I really don't have much kind to say about this album. Most of the songs just sound like bad metalcore. Thankfully the band improved with 'Waking the Fallen', and got even better with 'City of Evil'.

The Contenders

11 Rush - Rush Rush - Rush Product Image
12 From Genesis To Revelation - Genesis From Genesis To Revelation - Genesis Product Image

This one is kind of an special one because it really feels like it isn't a good album, and coming from the same band who made Foxtrot, SEBTP, TLLDOB and Invisible Touch, feels really weird to have this one compared to their stuff, but the prog and the pop stuff

13 39/smooth - Green Day 39/smooth - Green Day Product Image
14 No Doubt - No Doubt No Doubt - No Doubt Product Image
15 David Bowie - David Bowie David Bowie - David Bowie Product Image
16 The Party's Over - Talk Talk The Party's Over - Talk Talk Product Image
17 Your Favorite Weapon - Brand New Your Favorite Weapon - Brand New Product Image
18 Cheshire Cat - Blink-182 Cheshire Cat - Blink-182 Product Image

I don't know but I've heard this always considered their worst album.

I mean if you are talking about their pre hiatus stuff then yes, but their latest 3 albums are weaker than this one

OK. I had just heard some people say that this was their worst album.

19 An Anatomy of the Beast - Intestine Baalism An Anatomy of the Beast - Intestine Baalism Product Image
20 Pale Folklore - Agalloch Pale Folklore - Agalloch Product Image

Great album, but compared to their future 3 albums, is neither as good

21 Leisure - Blur Leisure - Blur Product Image
22 Count Your Blessings - Bring Me the Horizon Count Your Blessings - Bring Me the Horizon Product Image

I thought this one was okay

23 Ember to Inferno - Trivium Ember to Inferno - Trivium Product Image

Ranked the lowest on this site's list of best Death album and also the lowest rated Death album on Prog Archives and for a while the only Death album not bolded on RYM
