Best Designed Gen 1 Pokemon

kempokid
I was surprised when I saw the lack of lists based on pokemon design considering how people often rave about this topic whenever a new generation comes out.

The Top Ten

1 Victreebel Victreebel

I just love everything about how this one looks. The colour palette is really nice and the resemblance to a pitcher plant is cool. - kempokid

2 Articuno Articuno Articuno, known in Japan as Freezer, is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

The only one of the 3 legendary birds that I really like how it looks. The more simple design works well in maintaining the majesty without looking stupid or generic, which is the problem I have with the other 2 birds. - kempokid

3 Scyther Scyther

I adore how Scyther looks, it's a nice mix of cool and terrifying. I like its blade hands especially - kempokid

He's really green and green is a great color on creatures - darthvadern

4 Beedrill Beedrill

Another case of a pokemon looking awesome but being weak. I find it a shame especially in this case due to how brilliant its design is. - kempokid

5 Dragonite Dragonite Dragonite is a character from the Pokémon franchise by Nintendo. It is a dragon and flying type Pokémon created in the first generation of Pokémon. It is a Pseudo Legendary Pokémon.

I just find it to look absolutely adorable. Possibly my favourite looking dragon type in the whole series - kempokid

6 Haunter Haunter Haunter, known in Japan as Ghost, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

Just a cool looking ghost type pokemon. - kempokid

7 Onix Onix

It's a real shame that Onix isn't very good, because its design makes him seem very formidable. - kempokid

8 Slowbro Slowbro

As said in my comment about Psyduck, it's art to make something look as derpy as it, so what do you call it when it is more so? - kempokid

9 Psyduck Psyduck

I think that it's a true art to make something look as derpy as Psyduck. I can't help but love it for this reason - kempokid

10 Gengar Gengar Gengar, known in Japan as Gengar, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.

While I find it to be a slight step back compared to Haunter, Gengar still looks absolutely menacing, especially with his wide grin. - kempokid

Gengar is a very creative design
