Top 10 Best Detroit Lions Players Going Into the 2018 Season

They’ve been a back and forth team over the years, with potential at every position. Now they’ve prepared over the offseason, and their players are more ready. Who are the best of them? We’re looking at the top ten best Detroit Lions players going into the 2018 season.
The Top Ten
1 Matthew Stafford John Matthew Stafford is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. The #1 overall pick in 2009 selected by The Detroit Lions, Stafford has a critical acclaim in his stats. Stafford is the fastest player in NFL history to reach 30,000 passing yards. In 2016, he also broke the record for most comebacks in a season with eight. Stafford maybe one of the better Lions Quarterbacks in recent memory, but his record on the road against winning teams may haunt him with the 5-46 record. He also one of two veteran active quarterbacks to have never won a playoff game the other being Andy Dalton. In 2021, he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams.
2 Marvin Jones Marvin Lewis Jones Jr. is an American football wide receiver for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football at California.
3 Darius Slay Darius Demetrius Slay, nicknamed "Big Play Slay", is an American football cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League.

The man finished with 8 interceptions, which was tied with Kevin Byard for the league lead. That brought him to his first pro bowl and first team all-pro honor. He’ll lead a promising cornerback group in Detroit in 2018.

4 Ezekiel Ansah Ezekiel Nana "Ziggy" Ansah is a Ghanaian-born American football defensive end for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League.
5 Golden Tate III Golden Tate III is an American football wide receiver and punt returner for the New York Giants of the National Football League.
6 LeGarrette Blount

He’s a huge upgrade in the running back department over Ameer Abdullah. He played well in place of Darren Sproles in Philadelphia in 2017, and I see no reason why he won’t be the first Lions back to rush for over 100 yards in a game since 2013.

7 T.J. Lang Thomas John "T. J." Lang, Jr. is a former American football guard of the National Football League. Lang was drafted 109th overall in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He spent 8 seasons with the Packers before spending his final two with the Detroit Lions.

In his first year with the Lions, he made the pro bowl, and besides injury, I see no reason why that will change.

8 Kenny Golladay

He was very promising as a rookie, pulling in 3 touchdowns with over 400 yards receiving. If Golden Tate departs after the 2018 season, Golladay will be their number two receiver.

9 Matt Prater

He’s a top five kicker in the NFL, and he made 30/35 of his field goals with the season long of 2017 at 58 yards.

10 Jamal Agnew

A promising cornerback and punt returner who returned 2 punts for touchdowns in 2017, and had 643 return yards, earning a first team all-pro honor in his rookie year.
