Top Ten Most Difficult and Dangerous Sportsequestrian502
The Top Ten
Any one who says gymnastics should be number one is WRONG. you have to get your self in the air which is hard but try getting a 2,000 pound horse in the air it's a lot harder. Gymnasts fly of things sitting still imagine if your mat was alive and could kill you any second along with your bars, beam, and vault moving warp speed and flipping on that. I trick ride and did gymnastics and trick riding is a million times harder because you also have to pull 2,000 pounds while your flipping super fast and high in the air upside down and it's definitely not the same as taking a flip in the air like I use to do.
Its definitely the most difficult and dangerous sport
I am a horse rider and I really dislike people making comments about how horse riding isn't dangerous and how it isn't a sport! Apparently we just sit on the horse back and let it do the work whilst we twiddle our thumbs. Those people do not understand the trust we put in a animal that has a mind of its own and the effort it takes to train and look after one animal. Just because we don't fall as much as rugby players doesn't mean it isn't as dangerous. One fall can cause a lot of harm to our bodies. One fall can end or seriously damage someone's life. You have no idea of what the horse is thinking or about to do. You could be thrown off on to a fence in a click of a finger. End up in hospital and broken your neck. Sliding underneath the horse wilst galloping or falling underneath a 1000lb animal at top speed can end a life. You play football? Great! I'm an equestrian. I train a difficult animal who could flip at any second. I put my trust in that animal. You've hurt your leg? I've ...more - Prikarnik01
I have been riding for 5 years (I am 12), and it actually really helps with my current mental state, it helps calm me down. But it is still bloody hard. Just this week someone at my barn broke broke their ankle. And people say it's easy. Come on, mate.V 31 Comments
I don't play soccer or football but I do gymnastics. I admit that soccer is hard, but I believe that football and gymnastics. I play football with my brother all the time and just playing it with him and his friends wow. You have to be fast and you get a lot of head injuries. I watch this show Friday night lights and this dude got paralyzed just by a tackle. He can never walk again. Gymnastics I don't know how to explain injuries that happen. Doing double backs off a beam. What if you don't land right and break your ankle. What if you land on your neck? That's what goes through the minds of gymnasts. How would I know? Because it goes through my head every single day. We do have way more practice than soccer players and football players. We practice for four hours every single day. We have to run 2 miles and condition for 2 hours. Tell me that's not hard. Then you have to do regular practice and everything has to be spot on. Yea it's very hard. Soccer players you try something other ...more
Soccer? really? Sorry but so what you messed up your leg but football you can mess up your head, your brain. that's permit you can get paralyzed. I do have to admit that soccer take more individual skill, but football you have to be in better shape. I don't know!
You can be hit while your running with the ball not in the chest but in the legs and you could break both your legs
I'm a girl and don't play this sport, but it clearly is very hard and dangerous. So many players get injured in this. - equestrian502V 4 Comments
I am so glad soccer is finally on the top of these lists because it deserves to be. Sure it's not as dangerous as other sports(although it is still extremely dangerous) but it is much more difficult. It is not just kicking and running. Just to receive the ball you have to check your shoulder, receive it with the right kind of technique, communicate to your team, and quickly decide what to do because the other team is racing towards you. That's just receiving the ball. Imagine everything that you would have to do. Vote for soccer.
Soccer means so much to me. And to be on this list proves that we are more than what people think. They're all like man soccer looks so easy all you have to do is run and shoot. We'll if your reading this and your a person that said that. I just want to tell your that we are WAY, WAY, WAY more than that. So I hope you get my point.
We do actually get hurt! My friend was 11 when she snapped her ankle in the game! My coach slit his knee open and was gushing blood he pulled up his sock taped it and continued the rest of the game. later when he was taken to the hospital the doctor had to stick his hand in his knee then stitch it
I play soccer and it's my life, it is dangerous yes, but not as dangerous as some other sports. Mostly dangerous because of how physical some games can be and how fit you need to be. Most injuries are torn ligaments and such. And head injuries due too heading the ball. And when something like a split knee does happen, it's a little bit of a freak accident. The most common injuries are spranged ligaments and some concussionsV 11 Comments
Dancing: one false mover you are injured for life
You can tear your feet, pull muscles, etc. - equestrian502
In my opinion,
it is the most useless thing to do - Ananya
I have been a competitive cheerleader and dancer since I was 1.5 years old. There are 1000+ people staring you down. 4+ judges watching your every move. Mess up? 3 point deduction. No facials? 2 point deduction. My coach screams at us and if you don't do exactly what you are told you get kicked off the team. So, if you say cheerleading and dance isn't a sport? You are dead wrong and you need to get a reality check ASAP
Lacrosse is a really physical sport if you want proof go on youtube and search up war on the floor
Lacrosse is a very dangerous sport we are are getting beat up by sticks with a half inch of foam/plastic to protect us. Also soccer players, you guys frustrate me so much the only thing you guys have is a longer game, in lacrosse we wear a ton of equipment and we run the same length and width of a field. And don't even get starts on rock hard pieces of rubber flying 40-100 mph on the field...
Lacrosse is very dangerous, cross checks and body checks and very fast moving projectiles (50-100 mph) makes the sport even harder
I'm not even going to start on this one. This is such a violent sport. I have no idea why I put it down here but these come to mind late. Laugh out loud. - equestrian502V 3 Comments
I'm only. Eleven years old but I go to the high school practices sometimes if the coach is mad we will wrestle for an hour straight and then go straight in to conditioning and then wrestle for another 3 hours
I don't play this sport, but obviously it's physical. - equestrian502
I'm 10 and I wrestle for my primary school. I have to practice 5 days a week and practice is just like the real thing. I've had a concussion before but I was nearly put to a stop to my dream sport by tearing my ACL and blowing out my quadriceps when I was prepping for a match.
My brother had 2 concussions and sprained his ankle badly while wrestling.V 3 Comments
This should be number 1. I don't ride bulls, probably because in the equestrian world it's considered a suicide sport, but I can see just from watching it at rodeos how dangerous it is. I would never have the guts to try it, I'll stick with horses, thanks. - SassyEquine
Why is cheerleading above this? Cheerleading can get dangerous but this is a sport where a 200 pound wild beast is intentionally trying to kill you so it's either ride or die.
Bull riding is by far the most difficult sport. Just think you're on a 2 thousand pound Animal that is trying to kill you while you're on its back
This should be the 1st or 2ndV 2 Comments
It is the hardest, and the 4th dangerous, It should be the most dangerous and hardest.
For gymnastics you need balance gracefulness concentration strength and so many other things. You could get killed in gymnastics. There are so many ways to get hurt. Soccer and football and others have gear but we have NOTHING! There are many athletes that have had to quit or worse because it's dangerous and because it is too hard. If you want to be an Olympic gymnast you might have to quit school! So don't tell me that this sport isn't hard or dangerous!
Gymnastics is more harder than cheerleading trust me I went with my friend Alisha to her bring a friend to cheerleading day it was boring I didn't even brake a sweat and didn't even have fun it was really boring gymnastics is defiantly more challenging comparing to more sports!
Gymnastics should be WAY before Dance, Cheerleading, Soccer, Football, Horseback Riding, etc. I'm not going to share my reasoning because of course, I gotta hit the gym for 6 1/2 hours. Plus, this website isn't accurate. They just throw sports up here and let people vote. People probably vote twice. Gymnastics is the hardest and most dangerous sport there is. Horseback Riding? I'm literally dying over here. How is that even dangerous? You get thrown off a horse? Okay. Well gymnasts get flung off beam and bars. Even vault. So everybody...Gymnastics is the hardest. Just admit it.
I'm sorry, but " How is riding even dangerous? " " You get thrown off a horse, okay? " How is falling off a bar onto a padded surface more dangerous than getting bucked off of a galloping two ton unpredictable animal that could kill you with one misstep? My friend fell off of our calmest horse at the walk and broke her ankle. My trainers friend got ran into the fence by a young horse and she broke her neck and died. I'm not saying that gymnastics isn't hard, or that it's not dangerous, because I actually really enjoy watching gymnastics and am highly aware of the risks and injuries that people suffer, but horse riding definitely deserves to be on the top of the list. - SassyEquine
I'm a gymnast and I've gotten 5 concussions, broken arm spine wrist leg & all my toes. laugh out loud. I have also broken both of my collar bones. This should be 1# most dangerous!V 5 Comments
When I was spending my holidays, my cousins pushed me in a swimming pool and I didn't know how to swim, it was such a dreadful situation. - Ananya
I'm not talking about the regular swimming for fun. I'm talking about the actual sport. You could pull muscles, damage your lungs, etc. You could even drown, if you're not up to it. - equestrian502
Swimming requires a lot of strength. It is very amazing todo and fun but very dangerous
Cheer leading is much more than what other people think we don't do pop warner or sideline cheer this is different Allstar cheer we throw girls up in the air and you expect them to twist pull positions in the air coming from a flyer that's not easy having your bases and back spots under that might be moving it takes muscle and squeezeing every bone in your body and for the backspots you may not think there a big deal but they save lives every day without them a flyer could easily fall and brake something but that is not all we do we have to tumble twist our bodies in the air back flips front flips and if you get injured unlike other sports you don't get pulled to the side and not play the game no if you get injured you have to continue because everyone is a puzzle peice and you need everyone to complete the puzzle and the coaches are tough if you fall and get injured they take care of you but if you multiple times 50 sit-ups 50 push-ups 50 happy-stars but at the end of the day all ...more
Really football is in front of cheerleading oh yea cause tackling is so hard and catching and throwing is so hard! I like to play football for fun but cheerleading is WAY more difficult and dangerous then football and hockey and lacrosse and all those sports! Cheer you break something while on a compititon may you duck it up keep cheering and leave your worries behind! Football can't cause that much more injuries than cheer! Cheer causes death, broken bones, fracturing bones and SO much more! Football I understand like breaking your arm (not that often) but cheerleading causes way more difficulty and dangerous tricks then football... You try twisting in the air like doing a back handspring, or full or tucks I would LOVE to see a football player do our job for once see how hard cheerleading is! They would probably break their arm in minutes!
I am a competitive cheerleader and it takes passion for the sport you have to work together as a team to win you don't need a trophy or a medal to win you have your team that's happy that is what matters and I think that it takes a lot of we edgy and strength to push through it we don't complain if we get hurt we just keep going we workout we run laps it is as hard as any other sport on this list we work together as a team.
Thanks for reading and if you want to see something really cool look up Worlds 2014
It is difficult and dangerous to do cheerleading. People think that cheerleaders don't have to build up stamina, strength. Cheerleaders have to lift girls 5 ft in the air if not more the bases have the risk of their fly not hitting it and all the flyers weight coming down on them and if the flyer falls you run a mile do push-ups and crunches. Cheerleaders have the risk of getting severe concussions break bones strain muscles and hurt their flyer.V 6 Comments
Surfing is far and away the world's #1 extreme sport, and I don't think anyone realizes it. There are a ton of things that make surfing dangerous (read: deadly), but all you REALLY need to have for your trump card, win-any-argument-hands-down, fact, is one word. Sharks. SHARKS, people! Along with everything else that can kill you, not just what's in the water - not to mention the water itself - and beyond all the danger factors that exist beyond that, you've got the world's most perfect killer skulking around under you. Usually in water that you can't see through, which helps speed up the mini-panic attack you're having if you let yourself think about it as you wait for a wave, but that's even a blessing in disguise in a way, because if a shark wants you, and you're dangling off a piece of wood in the middle of the ocean in little else but a bikini, consider yourself lunch - and why make it worse by allowing clear water to make you aware of your ultimate demise? Because there's ...more
Okay listen up you cheerleaders, football players, and Dancers because you hate of the top of your mouth and don't even know what you're saying. Surfing is the ultimate danger sport behind Bull and Horse Riding. Firstly, you're "field" is trying to kill you. Waves are very tough and no there are no lifeguards. Secondly, surfing has more dangerous "opponents" than these sports on the list. And no they are not people they are every person's greatest fear. SHARKS. Now that is a opponent. Thirdly, we don't wear padding like you football players. We have just a swim shorts and sometimes slippers. Fourthly, it's SWIM or DIE. The waves can easily hurl you off your board and then whip you underwater. Fifthly, sometimes you get knocked by your own board. I once had my board hit near my private part and that hurts a lot. And most importantly, we need balance and full attention. We have to practice constantly not sit lazily and shake our pom poms. In Summary, surfing is the 2nd most dangerous ...more
Sure there are dangerous sports, but surfing's "playing" field is actively trying to kill you. There is no sport on this list where you get pummeled by the field its self and it can drown you. In all the other sports there are refs and emergency help near by. Surfing, you have your self and maybe the other surfers around you. And the there's sharks, but that subject is covered elsewhere.
Wipeouts on razor sharp coral, drowning, getting knocked out by another surf board or even your own, being held under water by tons of monster waves, oh and then there are those things like... SHARKS! Every year people are killed surfing (from top professionals down to beginner level).
I saw some guy's throat get slit by another players skate
You're on skates and on ice. You also get hit by 200 pound players and a rubber puck
I play hockey and it hurts when the puck hits your balls
Ice hockey is figure skating in a war zoneV 1 Comment
One wrong move and you might find yourself falling off a mountain.
Most dangerous and demanding sport of all time - JoshM
Is indeed a difficult sport, it takes 3-4 years for some people to even land a jump, much less rotating 3-4 times in midair. if anything is done wrong it can lead to injury and much less fatality. I've almost hit 10-20 people in the face from doing a certain spin or jump and the toe picks can take out someone else's eye with no problem. the bruises are extreme and we spend 2-9 hours practicing and practicing so we can score a medal in a 2 minute program.
Figure skating is really hard! It requires years of work to get good
Definitely hard but AMAZING
Not a sport - SassyEquine
The list of deaths go on forever and deaths happen in the modern day and age even with all the increased technology of safety
Rugby League and Rugby Union should be way up the list. There have been players who have ended up paraplegics playing these really tough matches. Others have other serious injuries too numerous to mention.
I don't know IT SHOULD BE 1ST!
Each week you end up at least one pulled muscle and multiple bruises. my friend snapped his arm and carried on playing because we had no subs (this was in under 13's as well) I know countless people who've had concussion and had to be ambulanced away. bloody noses are just part of the everyday game.
Ok you get injured for life in dancing but your dead for life if you make a mistake in parkour
It is difficult. I do not do parkour but I have seen them train and workout. They need a lot of strength and agility. They are risking their lives everyday just for the adrenaline rush of it. This should be higher than surfing. Surfing you have water. Ya you can drown but here you could fall and have a huge drop and die. You end up with broken everything in parkour. You need to do tons of activities to get in shape.
If you can do parkour, you will feel that our are the king of the world, I'm doing it (temporary stopped) since I was a child and I (surprisingly ) don't get injured - Ananya
Parkour is way to extreme to be number 19.
Muay Thai is definitely the most dangerous of all sports, cause it has incredibly deadly strikes and dangerous throws and sweeps. you have extremely deadly strikes punches, and bone crushing kicks and you have 2 other strikes unique to Muay Thai the knee, and the elbow
It's the most dangerous of all cause of its 8 incredibly deadly strikes it has punches, kicks, and knees and elbows that make Muay Thai a uniquely dangerous martial art
I am a 13year old girl and I do muaythai.I believe muaythai is a very dangerous sport because 1: you can get very bad injuries from the 4 main strike punch, kick, knee and elbow two of which can brake your nose etc and slice the skin. 2: we do very dangerous sweeps and take downs (I have seen a snapped knee in this sport before) and 3: yo. Can get you rips, neck, nose, arm, leg etc... All of them can be broken. So I believe muaythai is definitely a more deadly sport and deserves not to be number 17
Pole vaulting is gymnastics on a moving bar.
Skateboarding is not only physically challenging it is mentally challenging and it is very dangerous I play many sports and skatebakeding is defiantly the hardest! I've broken more bones skateboarding as well. Trying to learn things is frustrating and painful! I've played soccer basketball gymnastics and skateboarding is by far the hardest
It is easy now, at least for me. Yes once it was difficult, but not now - Ananya
This is already on the list, it's like fourth - SassyEquine
You could get out with broken bones or tearing ligaments I have been hurt for so many years to get the best result now I am the best in my team
It is a very dangerous martial art cause it has none crushing locks, deadly chokes, strangle holds, take downs, and throws and will give a much smaller opponent a huge advantage over a much bigger opponent
It is hard come on!
You have to always be aware of what you are doing.you are going at top speeds crossing the wake. You are at the mercy of the driver. You have to have a lot of strength to pull through. Your heart has to be strong.
Blackouts, sharks, strong currents; all whilst holding your breath 30++ meters under the ocean. Get stuck in an underwater cave or tangled in some seaweed and you are dead. Despite the dangers you need to maintain a yoga like calmness during the entire activity to be any good at it.
Cross Country is a very difficult sport. You have to really want something to get it, it is not just handed to you. Like my coach says, "Dig deep and embrace the suck! "
Bmx it is a lot harder than a lot of stuff.
You need lots of dedication to this sport
Cricket is a useless game where eleven stupids plays and crowd of stupid watch...
I'm a wakeboarder and a lot of times I get hert but my buddy had a almost lost his leg from it
Almost every wakeboarder I know has broken his leg or broke an ankle.
Spinning and flipping on a board is extremely dangerous and can easily brake something but it is toataly worth it
But I still do it anyways self defense and safety reasons arts/culture and calming to autism
