Top 10 Most Disappointing Disney Movies

Just a reminder, disappointing does not equal bad. So not every movie on this list has to be a bad movie.
The Top Ten
1 Cars 2

So two lists ago, I got a lot of hate for bashing this movie. Which apparently means people actually like this movie. For some reason. So let me get this straight. Frozen is a no, but Cars 2 is a yes? Weird. Still, a majority of people out there hate it! It's not disappointing as a sequel, but it is definitely disappointing as a Pixar film! I've liked every single Pixar film up until Cars 2 came out! There's some pretty great action scenes, but that doesn't make up for the terrible story, childish humor, and dumb characters. And by dumb characters I mean Mater. I suggest watching MrEnter's review of the movie. He goes into more detail on why it sucks so much. At least Cars 3 looks like it's going to be awesome.

So disappointing that it deserves to be on the list.

2 Beauty and the Beast (2017)

Beauty and the Beast and Rogue One share the same problems. They're cash grabs built on nostalgia. And they have pretty bland characters. Anyway, the live action Beauty and the Beast movie was directed by Bill Condon who directed Twilight: Breaking Dawn. So I'll admit, this was a step up from that crap. There are certain movies that should just stay animated and not be recreated in live action. Beauty and the Beast is one of those movies. They tried to make the living furniture seem very realistic while also trying to make us believe that they can move. As a result, it lead to some terrible CGI! Just look at the wardrobe! She looks creepy! There a few new scenes added in the movie and they were completely pointless and the stuff they used from the original were rushed. Emma Watson was the worst thing about the movie! She can't act and she can't sing! But people love her because she was in Harry Potter. This movie isn't bad but I left the theater feeling very underwhelmed.

3 The Good Dinosaur

What really confuses me is that people aren't complaining about cars 2. It had violence. This movie was pretty good, and people you know why the good dinosaur was a little to intense? It's called peril. come on people up had it so why can't the good dinosaur have it?

4 Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

I can safely say that At World's End is the only Pirates of the Caribbean film that I just do not like. And I know a lot of people really hate the Pirates sequels, but I thought Dead Man's Chest and On Stranger Tides were pretty decent. I've also heard that Dead Men Tell No Tales is really good! By the way, I almost got tickets to an advanced screening of that movie, but I was about two minutes too late. So why don't I like At World's End? Because it was a lot longer than it should've been and there wasn't much excitement in it. The story was a little too complicated to follow. It's mostly exposition through dialogue and not enough action. As a fan of this franchise, this was a disappointment. I wasn't as captivated by this one as I was with the other ones.

Its way too long.

5 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

When I first saw this movie, I thought it was great. But after watching it again, I can see where people are coming from when they say that it's disappointing. I wanted this movie to be awesome but it has a lot of bland and forgettable characters. The thing that made the other Star Wars movies (excluding the prequels) so great was the characters! I actually cared for them and wanted them to succeed. In Rogue One, I didn't care what about what happened to them! I barely even remember their names! I also thought there was a lot of fan service. They throw in so many references to the original trilogy to the point where it gets annoying. R2-D2 and C-3PO even make an unnecessary cameo. However, the best scene in the entire movie is the ending when Darth Vader is killing a bunch of rebels! That scene alone was worth the price of admission! But I still thought this movie wasn't very interesting and tried too hard to be a Star Wars movie.

It's so unneeded. It was doomed from the start because Star Wars fans already know what happened. It really has no reason to exist. The heros were mediocre and had potential but died before I had the chance to really care

I agree with you MegaSoulhero. The movie did have forgetable characters & the plot the not great. What a disappointment

I love The Force Awakens, but I was very disappointed with this Flick!

6 Mulan II

Mulan is one of my favorite Disney movies! It had great action, great characters, and showed us that women can be just as tough as men. Also, Mulan is hot! Mulan 2, however, literally did the exact opposite of what made the first movie so great! The action scenes are dumbed down, the characters are either jerks or idiots, and they pretty much ruin the moral of the first movie by having Mulan care more about love rather than what's right! The live action Mulan remake is coming out next year. Which means I will be reviewing the first movie as well as this awful sequel next year before the remake comes out. And I am going to be so hard on it! I'm gonna go into a lot detail! And that review will probably be the angriest I'll ever be! This movie does everything wrong. It does not work as a sequel and it does not work as a movie.

Well, what did you guys expect from a direct-to-video sequel? A masterpiece? DTV sequels by Disney almost always suck.

7 Dinosaur
8 Brave

I'm not hating on this movie at all but I felt it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The theme seemed promising at the time but I remember when I finished watching it the movie's plot just felt so familiar like I had seen it before but in another movie. Of course back then I didn't realize right away, but it just never clicked on me to be a true "masterpiece". In my point of view Wreck it Ralph was superior in every way, it has a more unique theme and a more memorable story and cast not to mention my nerd hype seeing actual video game characters in it. What I'm trying to get at is that Brave's awards felt like they were more appropriate to Wreck it Ralph.

I really like Brave! It's the most underrated Pixar movie in my opinion. But what I think made people upset was the misleading trailers. Yeah, I can understand. The trailers made it look like the movie was going to take us on this epic adventure and stuff, but it turned out to be about the mother being turned into a bear. I'll admit, that kind of made me a little angry. But what saved this movie for me was the relationships between the characters. There was also some pretty funny humor and gorgeous animation. I just wish we got kind of a better story. Still a good movie though!

Frick you brother bear copy wreck it ralph could wreck you and your ugly hair

Hate this film So much

9 Iron Man 2

Iron Man 2 is the sequel to the very first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man. And this is the worst movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, this is the only movie in the MCU that I legitimately hate! Most of the scenes in this movie don't make any sense! And most of them don't add anything to the plot! There's very little action and some of the characters are wasted. Black Widow gets introduced but she doesn't do much. And Whiplash is in the movie but he gets very little screen time. I also found the villain to be very forgettable. But that's a problem with most Marvel films. Iron Man 2 is definitely the worst Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

10 Fantasia 2000
The Contenders
11 Chicken Little

This movie is very disappointing.

12 Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland is based on the popular area in Disneyland. I have mixed feelings about this movie. It's not bad, but I was still a little underwhelmed by it. The characters are great, the visuals are great, the story however, not so great. I felt like there was a lot of wasted potential here. The movie is called Tomorrowland but the actual Tomorrowland parts of the movie are mediocre at best. Look, this movie was written and directed by Brad Bird. He also worked on Iron Giant, Ratatouille, and most importantly, The Incredibles! One of my favorite movies of all time! So Tomorrowland was kind of a step backward from his previous works. The writing is kind of a mess. It doesn't know what kind of tone it wants to have. The movie is definitely worth watching but I expected a little more from it.

I liked it, I liked all the references since Tomorrowland was my FAVORITE land. The only problem is that when I search up "disney tomorrowland" it pulls up photos from the movie.

13 Maleficent

This movie was so boring to me and I went to see it twice because at the time my parents assigned me to take care of my sister and she wanted to see this movie.

14 Cars

How can you put this movie on here it is awesome great story some sad some happy it is full of every thing and that is fun as a kid

15 The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea

You know, a Little Mermaid sequel could've worked. But the one we got was a bunch of crap! It pretty much has a similar plot to the first movie. It involves Ariel's daughter, Melody, wanting to explore the ocean. But of course, Ariel won't let her. Ariel is basically a hypocrite in this movie! I already hated her in the first movie, but here she is even worse! And that says a lot! She doesn't understand the problems her daughter goes through even though she had the exact same problems as a teenager! Ursula's sister, Morgan, is pretty much just another version of Ursula. She even has the same voice actress! This movie tries too hard to be like the first one and it ultimately fails.

It's a direct to video sequel you really can't expect that much.

16 Eternals
17 Saving Mr. Banks
18 Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
19 Thor: The Dark World
20 Ralph Breaks the Internet

I was expecting an actual sequel to "Wreck-It Ralph", not a commercial for the Internet itself.

This felt more like The Emoji Movie more than an actual sequel to Wreck it Ralph.

21 The Lion King (2019)
22 Zootopia

@Bikerninja1997 - What are you talking about? Also, this list is not about something that you love, it’s actually about disappointing movies made by Disney.

23 Frozen
24 The Black Cauldron
25 Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World
