Top 10 Most Disappointing Superhero Movies of the 2010s

There’s only less than a month until Infinity War comes out. I’m really looking forward to it. I hope it doesn’t disappoint. There have been quite a lot of superhero movies that looked like they were gonna be good, but ended up not being very good. So let’s discuss the most disappointing superhero movies of the 2010s.
The Top Ten
1 Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

This is what happens when you let someone who has no idea why people like Batman and Superman direct a movie about Batman and Superman. So many characters are poorly cast and act nothing like their characters, its dark and gloomy and has terrible writing. What a mess.

This is the biggest slap to the face to comic book fans ever! The DCEU is trash! These writers are trash! They should do the world a favor and jump off a bridge immediately! They don’t deserve to live! They don’t deserve to still be walking around on this planet after making a movie like this! DC would be better off if they just stop making movies! Wonder Woman was good, Justice League was okay, but even that’s not enough to save this miserable excuse for a company! They try so hard to compete with Marvel that they forget to actually tell a good story! Again, these writers can’t come up with a good story to save their lives! And one of them is gonna be working on Star Wars Episode IX! You can forget about that movie being good! Bottom line: DC sucks! They need to just give up!

This movie had the potential to be good, but there are so many things useless like batman nightmares and a terrible plot twist (MARTHA)

It's hard to be disappointed when people already knew this film might not work even when it was being conceived.

2 Fant4stic

This was such a disappointment the way they made doctor doom was just horrible and the way they look I mean the human torch was awesome in the film but everyone else was kinda of just a complete disappointment and they changed the story into something pier ugly

I’m glad Michael B Jordan went from being in one of the worst Superhero movies ever to bring in one of the best Superhero movies ever. I don’t know why I thought this would be a good Fantastic 4 movie considering there’s no such thing as a good Fantastic 4 movie. Unlike the others, this one didn’t try at all. The visuals were absolutely terrible. There was barely any action and when the action happens it’s done very poorly. Most of the movie is just nothing happening. Just these scenes that try to be dramatic but they try too hard to the point where it becomes painful to watch. This is why Disney owning Fox doesn’t seem like a bad idea. They could actually attempt to make a good Fantastic 4 movie. Honestly, Fant4stic is garbage.

It was so boring. The ending was unexpectedly bland and it feels so unfinished. 3/10

There wasn't even a stan lee cameo in this!

3 Iron Man 2

It was alright for its time but this movie has aged terribly.

Man, why did I once to prefer this to the original

It’s rare when a second installment in a franchise ends up being good. Incredibles 2 looks like it’s gonna suck. I’ve pretty much lost excitement for that movie. Iron Man 2 is the PERFECT example of a bad sequel. Considering how awesome the first Iron Man was and the fact that it started the MCU, this was a major let down. It’s not just the worst Iron Man film, it’s the worst MCU film. You know it’s bad when the only good part is when Tony Stark is sitting in a giant donut! Basically, the writing is garbage. They pretty much ruined Tony’s character. He gets his suit stolen? How dumb can he be? He’s also such an egotistical jerk! There was no substance at all! There wasn’t much of a story. For an action movie, there was little to no action. And the action scenes we got were mediocre at best. This is worse than every DC movie. So terrible.

4 Green Lantern

The Teen Titans Go movie is apparently gonna have Lil Yachty of all people play the Green Lantern. I watched a recent T.V. spot for the movie. They legit made fun of the Green Lantern movie. It’s the only joke in Teen Titans Go history that actually made me laugh. Because the Green Lantern movie is such an atrocity. It’s really hard to find anything good to say about it. It’s just very dull. The writing is garbage and the acting is really bad. There’s not really much to say. This is honestly one of the worst DC films. Even Batman Forever is better.

It was okay. Could of been better.

This was so terrible. It did not follow the orgirn story and messed up Sinestro.

5 The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I found this movie next level boring

You might find this hard to believe, but I like Amazing Spider-Man. Sure it’s not perfect, but it was mostly enjoyable. As for Amazing Spider-Man 2, I liked it when I first watched. After watching it a second time recently, I flat out hated it. Yes. My opinion on this movie has changed. I will say this. It’s still better than Spider-Man 3. Which isn’t saying much since that movie was unbearable. Amazing Spider-Man 2 has serious problems as well. The action scenes are absolutely atrocious. It’s like they’re trying to throw as much CGI into certain scenes as possible. Emma Stone is completely wasted. Which is a shame since she’s a great actress. The villains are very pathetic. Electro’s motivation is weak, the Green Goblin is too over the top, and the Rhino barely even appears in the film. The soundtrack is also very forgettable. But then again, Hans Zimmer hasn’t made a good soundtrack since On Stranger Tides. This isn’t the worst Spider-Man film, but it’s still ...more

6 Suicide Squad

With Batman vs Superman, I had no expectations for it, so it wasn't disappointing. This one though, I thought it was going to be really good

This film was a really fun surprise.

7 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

I’m not a Ninja Turtles fan, and I also really hated the first Michael Bay Ninja Turtles movie, but I was kinda looking forward to this one because it actually looked pretty interesting. I’ll say this. It was definitely better than the first movie. But it still kinda sucked. It has some of the same problems as the first one while also creating some new problems. The action scenes are shot very poorly. The characters are also extremely unbearable. Megan Fox doesn’t really have much of a character. Her only character trait is that she’s hot. Bebop and Rocksteady were very annoying. Krang was just straight up awful. The reason why I think this movie is better than the first is because it actually feels more like a Ninja Turtles movie. It’s still a Michael Bay movie but at least it’s a Ninja Turtles movie. And yes, this counts as a superhero movie. I looked it up on Wikipedia.

Am I the only one who hated the fact that they went to Amaz'nia, and there was a waterfall?

8 Avengers: Age of Ultron

Downey Jr, Evans, Johansson, Jackson, Hemsworth, Ruffalo, and even Spader deserved better than this generic hunk of garbage. First of all, Wheadon likened it to The Empire Strikes Back & The Godfather part II and it doesn't even compare to those cinematic masterpieces that did justice to their franchises unlike this bland kids film. I tell you this movie focused more on selling toys and overstuffing itself with mindless action & weak humor that engages the 4-year olds in the audience. The original was a fun decent popcorn film that engaged audiences young & old. It was very fun to see our favorite heroes unite on the big screen, but I don't think it was all that. Winter Soldier & Guardians were deeper and the humor was smart. Age of Ultron throws what made GotG & TWS so amazing and what made the first a good time at the movies out the window. Wheadon reassembles the majority of our favorite actorsactresses from the first film & some newcomers like Elizabeth Olsen & Aaron Taylor ...more

I feel like this person keeps going on thetoptens everyday, and keeps on voting this up. News flash, stop it!

This movie was never great! How are people finding it good when it's just a big toy commercial?

Avengers: Age of Ultron is still great. I wish it could've been better.

9 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

This is a pretty good movie, but it’s a disappointing sequel. Guardians of the Galsxy was great. It was a comedy film but it knew to also focus on the story. This one was just nothing but jokes and very little story. Some of the jokes worked and some of them were terrible. There are things to like about the movie though. Yondu is a very great character. He actually gets the most development in this. Which makes his the ending pretty emotional. I also like the visuals even though they went a little overboard with the CGI. The CGI still looks better than Ready Player One. Which I haven’t seen yet. I like this movie but it could’ve been a lot better.

10 X-Men: Apocalypse
The Contenders
11 Justice League

I expected better from this film, it was pretty boring to be honest...

Awesome film.

12 Thor

There was not a lot too choose from so this was the Guinea Pig and Dark World was worse

This was actually the third MCU film I watched. I started with Captain America: the First Avenger, then the Avengers, then Thor. Thor seemed like a very cool character. So I was excited to watch his film. Especially since my parents saw it before I did and they said they loved it. So I watched it and I didn’t like it at all. It’s just a cliché “fish out of water” story. Thor gets banished from Asgard and ends up on Earth. So he has to prove himself worthy. It’s very predictable. I knew exactly what was going to happen. Also, he meets Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings. The absolute worst characters in the MCU. One of my biggest problems is that they spend so much time on Earth that we barely get to see Asgard. This is why I prefer the other two Thor films because they take us to areas outside of the Earth. Which kept me very invested. Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings really bring the movie down for me because I thought they were very annoying. I’m glad Natalie chose not to ...more

13 The Avengers
14 Captain America: Civil War
15 Spider-Man: Homecoming

I probably liked it a lot because I had lower expectations from the Spider Man franchise after their other recent crapfests. In fact I loved this one!

This isn’t a bad movie, but as a huge Spider-Man fan as well as a huge MCU fan I went into this film with high expectations. Tom Holland is perfect as Spidey and Michael Keaton is perfect as the Vulture, but the writing kinda sucks at times. Like the Vulture being Liz’s dad? I didn’t see it coming but it was so cliché. And what are the odds of something like that even happening? Plus, that’s pretty much the only major role Liz has in the film. She pretty much adds nothing else and didn’t need to be there. They also completely ruined Aunt May in this film. Literally her only character trait is that she’s hot. The MJ reveal was disappointing. I also really hated Flash Thompson since he doesn’t really act like much of a bully. He just comes off as annoying. This movie can be enjoyable, but as a Spider-Man film, it’s a let down.

16 The Dark Knight Rises

I think this film is good.

17 Avengers: Infinity War
18 Black Panther

It wasn't bad, but not as great as it's been hyped up to be

19 Thor: The Dark World
20 Batman and Son

The film is called Son of Batman.

Never ever heard of it! LOL

21 X Men: Days of Future Past
22 The Lego Batman Movie

It could of been better if the jokes were more toned down and if the villains (other than Joker) got bigger roles. Also the recurring joke of Joker's obsession with Batman wasn't funny and Batman needed to calm down. He did TOO many jokes in the film.

23 Venom (2018)
24 Batman: The Killing Joke

WHO EVER PUT THIS IS NOT A FAN! This is my all time favorite Superhero film of all times!

Disappointing film.
