Top 10 Most Disappointing Video Games of 2019

The Top Ten
1 Kingdom Hearts III

I enjoyed it, but I think the first and the second one were better. The game had a good story and graphics, but I think it wasn't as good as the games before it. (Please don't hate me, fanboys.)

2 Anthem

I thought this game would fail when the trailers were released - EA, you know - but I trusted the developers who brought Titanfall to us. However, the game was a disaster: horrible gameplay and story, and of course, microtransactions.

How can someone be disappointed with EA? You know exactly what to expect from them. They constantly deliver horrendous games.

3 Super Mario Maker 2

Disappointed that most of the things I wanted in it didn't happen, and the amiibo suits were cut.

4 FIFA 20

If you want to buy a soccer game, buy Pro Evolution Soccer, not FIFA. Why is this worse than FIFA 19? Here are my reasons:

- No Juventus, Boca Juniors, River Plate, Colo-Colo, and Brazilian League.
- All they added in kick-off were the Romanian league and Volta. Add more stuff!
- The career mode is a disappointment.
- The graphics are the same as in FIFA 15. Improve them more like in PES!
- The Brazil soccer team is such a disappointment. No real players, except for Neymar.
- When the ball boy throws the ball, it floats on his or her hands!
- Many glitches, more than FIFA 19.
- No UEFA Euro 2020. Why? Because PES will add it as an add-on.

I highly recommend you to not buy this game. It's probably the worst EA game of the year, worse than Anthem.

It's a shame people waste their money on this game.

The same game over and over. What did you expect?

5 Team Sonic Racing

This game is only fun when playing with friends.

15 characters? That's it? Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had almost triple that amount. Also, don't forget this game got delayed by half a year, and it didn't make a difference in the amount of characters.

Here's a tip on making kart racers: Don't give yourself restricting limits. Don't be scared to step out of your comfort zone and add more.

Overall, not only did I have nothing to do on the holiday season, but the game also isn't even that good.

It was good, but it could have been so much more.

6 Days Gone

I thought this game would be amazing when they announced it. I even told my friend, who's an Xbox fanboy, that he would sell his Xbox to buy a PS4 after it. But no, the game is so boring, full of glitches, copy-paste missions, and a bad story.

The glitchiness was so bad, I had to power off my Intel Core i7 laptop (one of the fastest) and it temporarily scarred my laptop.

Anyone want to point out the horrendously long loading times?!

7 Left Alive

I didn't play this one, but I have heard that it wasn't that good.

8 Shenmue 3

I know this game wasn't released yet, but I think that it is going to be bad. The developers don't have any new ideas, and the budget is so low compared to the first two games.

9 Pokémon Sword and Shield

Nintendo should shut down their entire company and let Sony and Microsoft dominate the gaming industry. Childish video games are not the focus of the gaming industry anymore. People should play more mature video games instead of indulging in what this user refers to as an autistic abomination.

10 Crackdown 3

The game was a big disappointment to me. It had a boring story, dull graphics, and activities. Just play the first and second one, and that's it.

Of course, they have to let the series down like this.

The Contenders
11 Jump Force

When they announced it, I said, "A fighting game with anime characters. It's the game of the year already," but the game was so boring. The characters were basically doing the same thing over and over and were just bad. Here's some advice: keep your money and buy Mortal Kombat 11 instead.

Easily the most disappointing. There was a lot of hype, and the game was hot garbage. Not even average, just straight trash.

A crossover with anime characters would have been awesome, but it was poorly executed, I mean, VERY poorly.

12 Tom Clancy's The Division 2
13 Apex Legends

Another battle royale game. What else did you guys expect from gaming these days?

14 Mario Kart Tour
15 Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes
16 Devil May Cry 5
17 Metro Exodus
18 Far Cry: New Dawn

This game was so short, and I didn't like the new RPG system. But at least it was for 30 dollars, so...

19 Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
20 Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

I waited for this game for THREE YEARS! They messed up so much here. Where are the Miis? Why is the story so linear and anticlimactic? I didn't even bother buying this game. This game should have been delayed a few months to add Miis, at least, but no, they took the easy way out.

21 Rage 2
22 Wolfenstein: Youngblood

A sign Bethesda is officially dead! Can Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 save them? They've been releasing awful games since 76.

This game is terrible and a far cry from its predecessors.

23 Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

The fact this came from a highly popular series is just sad.

24 Angry Birds Ar: Isle of Pigs

Why is this not in the Google app store?

25 Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Don't get the wrong idea. The game in and of itself was awesome. However, the Switch version was filled with bugs and glitches when it was released. And it was delayed by a week to give Artplay enough time to fix these issues. There were also some framerate issues as well as input lag and watered-down visuals on this version. Probably the biggest game-breaking glitch was where you need to acquire items from chests to proceed, and they're already open. It's still a great game. Just don't expect the Switch port to deliver the same experience as the other versions.
