Top 10 Best Disney Animated Movies of the 90s

The Top Ten
1 The Lion King

I'm still not excited about the remake. The Lion King is an animated classic! I would even say it's one of the best animated films of all time! It's dramatic, funny, and emotional! I really love the animation! You could tell that the animators put a lot of detail into the environments! The characters are also great! Scar is an excellent villain! He even gets an awesome villain song! He also kills his own brother! I remember when I first saw this movie, I kind of shed a tear when Mufasa died. It's really hard to see why anyone would hate this movie! It's amazing!

No animated movie will ever top this.

2 Beauty and the Beast

Yeah, the live action Beauty and the Beast movie wasn't good. Wasn't bad either, but I consider it as the most overrated Disney movie ever! I mean, seriously? I can't believe people actually prefer it over the original! Sure it answers some of the questions that people had about the original, but it creates even bigger problems! Also, EMMA WATSON SUCKS! The original will always be one of my favorite Disney movies! It had this kind of charm that the live action one doesn't have! I actually cared about the characters in the original! Belle and Beast actually look like they love each other! And Belle can actually sing! This is a very well written movie with great songs and great characters! As for the new one, the script is trash! This movie was nominated for best picture but I doubt the new one will be! Beauty and the Beast will always remain a classic!

3 Aladdin

I can't wait until the Broadway musical starts touring next year! Aladdin is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker! They have also directed Great Mouse Detective, The Little Mermaid, Hercules (ugh), Treasure Planet, Princess and the Frog, and Moana! Aladdin is by far their best film! Aladdin and Jasmine have such great chemistry and when they're flying on the carpet, we feel they're connection! I don't understand how Jasmine didn't recognize Aladdin as Prince Ali though. But I still like their relationship! The absolute best character in the movie is the Genie! Robin Williams was a comedy genius! I still miss him. Most of the Genie's lines were ad-libbed! Which makes it even funnier! Aladdin has great songs and great visuals! One of Disney's best!

4 The Hunchback of Notre Dame

This is one the best Disney films of all time! Unfortunately, it came out at a time when Disney wasn't doing so well. It came out after Pocahontas which was a huge hit. And it came out before Hercules which, well, I'm not a fan of. But Hunchback is pretty awesome! The dark atmosphere is what I like most about it! It's not afraid to go as dark as it does here! The Hellfire scene alone is just beyond awesome! And this is only rated G for some reason. This movie has great songs and great characters! Frollo is such an intimidating villain! Like wow! I really hope they do a live action remake of this movie one day!

5 Mulan

I'm really upset that the live action Mulan remake isn't gonna have any songs in it. Anyway, Mulan is awesome! Both the character, and the movie! She is a very tough and attractive girl who goes into war in place of her dad to protect him. She cares a lot about her family! This movie shows that girls can be just as tough as men! And it does it very well! Not only are the message and story great, it has some pretty funny humor! Mushu is really funny in it! Too bad he became one of the worst characters in the sequel! I'm excited for the live action film! I really hope they cast a super hot actress as Mulan!

6 Toy Story

The best Pixar movie ever made!

7 Toy Story 2

Toy Story 2 is Pixar's third movie and the sequel to their first movie, Toy Story! When Toy Story came out, everyone loved it! Toy Story 2, however, is even better! They introduced us to new likeable characters and they made it more emotional! This along with Toy Story 3 and Finding Dory are the only good Pixar sequels. Cars 2 and Monsters University sucked! Cars 3, however, looks pretty good. Toy Story 3 is better than Tiy Story 2 in my opinion, but I can't put it on the list since it's not a 90s movie. Toy Story is definitely a great sequel to a great movie!

8 Tarzan

Put you're faith in what you most believe in. Two worlds, one family. Trust your heart. Let fate decide. To guide these lives we see. Tarzan is pretty great! I don't know why I avoided watching this for a long time! I really enjoy the characters, the scenery, and the songs! The relationship between Tarzan and Jane is very great! Jane does whatever it takes to teach Tarzan how to be a proper gentleman! That shows how much she loves him! I'll admit, Clayton being the villain is pretty predictable. But to be honest, I don't think they were really hiding it. There are songs in this but instead of having the characters sing them, Phil Collins sings them. Normally, something like this would anger me, if it wasn't done to perfection! Phil Collins' songs in this movie are brilliantly! And a big part of the reason why this movie is great!

9 The Nightmare Before Christmas

'Twas the Nightmare Before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was peaceful, not even a mouse. I watch this movie every year on both Halloween and Christmas! And that's what makes it so great! It's a movie that celebrates two popular holidays in a very creative way! This movie is a musical and the songs are very excellent! My favorite is Kidnap the Sandy Claws! The stop motion used for this movie still holds up! The monsters look very creative and very detailed! This movie even has it's own ride at Disneyland during Halloween and Christmas! It's very cool!

10 Hercules

Best Disney movie what's not to love about a classic hero saving the day.

My favorite Disney movie!

The Contenders
11 A Bug's Life
12 A Goofy Movie

This movie is basically what Cars 2 did wrong. Making a comic relief character the main character! In this movie, it actually works! This is actually a pretty heartfelt and smart movie! Goofy wants to spend time with his son Max so they go on a road trip. Along the way, they really start to get along in a great father and son relationship! For a movie called "A Goofy Movie" there are some pretty grown up moments! There is still humor in this and it's actually really funny! It's a very good movie! Extremely Goofy Movie, however, sucks!

13 Pocahontas

Strange thing is I don't hate this movie anymore. It has great visuals, semi-decent characters, and amazing songs! I feel like I've been a little too hard on this movie! And I've grown to really like the character Pocahontas! She's adventurous, brave, beautiful, and she has a great voice! So yeah. I don't hate this movie anymore! But I still can't get over the fact that she was able to learn English from THE WIND!
