Top 10 Disney Animated Movies that Do Not Need Remakes

Disney has a lot of remakes on their schedule, so I think it's time we talk about the Disney movies that ABSOLUTELY do not need to be remade for any reason!

The Top Ten

1 The Lion King

On September 28, 2016, it was announced that The Lion King will be getting a live action remake! WHY!?!? The original was already perfect so why mess with perfection!? Apparently it will be directed by Jon Favreau who directed Iron Man and The Jungle Book (2016). I guess it makes sense that Favreau is making this since the live action Jungle Book movie was a success. But the live action Jungle Book was better than the original and I doubt they can make a better Lion King than the original! Also, there aren't any humans in Lion King! So the entire movie would probably just be CGI! I am not excited for this. Why can't they just show the Broadway musical in theaters? That would be awesome!

I'm really split on this. It seems that part of me wants to go see this movie out of nostalgia and remote curiosity, while another believes that this is nothing more than a pointless waste of time. I liked the original 1994 version. It was beautiful, well-crafted, intense, heartwarming and funny, and I consider it to be one of my top favourite Disney movies. In fact, I loved the second one too. This, on the other hand, doesn't seem to impress me that much. The animation looks awful - I thought it was another fan-made trailer when I first saw the trailer. But who knows, it might turn out good. It has a great cast. Hans Zimmer is back to do the score, and James Earl Jones is back as Mufasa. Just have to wait until July to find out. But that being said, the animated Lion King will always be the real Lion King to me - not this. How could they possibly make a "live-action" remake to the Lion King without it being exactly the same as the original? It's not like Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast where you can cast actors to play human characters. All the characters in Lion King are animals! They're all going to be CGI which is pretty much the same as animation anyways! What's next? A Fox and the Hound reboot? A 101 Dalmatians reboot? Wait. I should shut up. I don't want to give them any ideas.

Yes, they made a brilliant "The Jungle Book", I am waiting for "Beauty and the Beast"...but I think there should never be any live -action "Lion King". It contains gorgeous animation and live action visual effects can never overshadow it.

2 Tangled

I wouldn't mind them giving Frozen a live action remake, but Tangled in NO WAY needs one! Why do I always bring up Frozen when talking about Tangled? Something that I really like about Tangled is how fast paced it is! It has a lot of slapstick humor and some pretty cartoonish moments. Especially the scenes involving Maximus and Flynn which are very hilarious! I doubt they would be able to recreate that. Also, the hair! The hair is what makes Rapunzel so memorable! How would they be able to do that in live action!? Rapunzel is my second favorite Disney princess and one of the reasons for that is the hair! Even when her hair got cut short I still liked her a little bit. Brunettes aren't really my type but still! I think it's best to leave Tangled the way it is. But I still really want them to do a Frozen remake!

Why woukd they remake a movie that came out less than 5 years ago? It makes even less sense if they remake frozen.

They do need to make this one. It would be epic. No time soon though.

3 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Snow White is the first Disney animated movie! So obviously people expect Disney to remake this movie. Oh come on! We already have Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman! Isn't that enough!? Here's my real reason. The fact that this was the first Disney animated movie makes it very special. I honestly think Disney shouldn't make another Snow White movie. The rose red movie, however, I'm actually looking forward to seeing!

I actually really think that this, Aladdin and Pinocchio will get remakes

They DO need to make this one.

4 Lilo & Stitch

Aloha! Only 14 months until I go on a Hawaiian vacation! Anyway, if Lilo and Stitch didn't have any aliens in it, I'd say it was worthy of a live action remake. Imagine how creepy the aliens would look in live action! Stitch would probably still look adorable but I can't say the same for the others. This is supposed to be a family friendly film. At least the aliens in this movie are cartoonish and not too over the top to scare kids. If this was a live action film, the aliens would either be so realistic that they would scare kids or too cartoonish that they would scare kids. I like Lilo and Stitch but it's pretty overrated and I don't think it needs a remake.

It's getting one. Can't wait to see Furry Stitch.

5 Fantasia

Fantasia is still the best Disney film of all time! There is literally no way they can remake it! This film is a masterpiece! Although, there are reasons to remake it. It would make sense if they wanted to use a different art style. But we already got that in Fantasia 2000! So I don't see any need for them to do a remake of Fantasia.

I would hate seeing this. But I would love to see a Fantasia 3, and they have new ideas they can execute like they did in Fantasia 2000. It would be great to see Fantasia 3 and no live action remake.

They're doing a remake/re-imagining of the "Night on Bald Mountain" segment (I'm more inclined to go with the re-imagining).

I don't know how that would work?

6 Winnie the Pooh

Why would they remake this? I've never met anyone who hates Winnie the Pooh. When they release the live action movie, that might change. Remember the Book of Pooh? It was a live action series on Playhouse Disney in which the characters were puppets. I personally didn't like it but at least the characters looked like how they look in the cartoon! As shown in most live action remakes, they tend to change the looks of characters either for better or worse. I don't know what they're going to do for this film but after watching Paddington, it's possible to make a CGI character meant to be live action look like it's original counterpart. None of these points have anything to do with why I think remaking Winnie the Pooh is unnecessary. A lot of us have grown to love these characters from our childhoods. We probably wouldn't be used to how the live action film will turn out.

Winnie the pooh is probably the simplest of Disney's lineup. The animation was adorable in all its sequels and spinoffs. It gave off charm, and it now rests in peace. So why do we need to update it?

Again, they're planning on doing a re-imaging of the movie, not a straight-up remake. It's set to take place when Christopher Robin is an adult so this is by no means a re-make.

DON'T REMAKE WINNIE THE POOH PLEASE. IT SHOULD ALWAYS REMAIN THE 1900S STYLE HAND DRAWN ANIMATION IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN. THAT'S THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE! DISNEY, I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE LION KING BUT PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT REMAKE WINNIE THE POOH!

7 The Black Cauldron

I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but I don't want to see a live action remake of the Black Cauldron. It was a very forgettable movie. But then again, so was Pete's Dragon and they remade that. But Pete's Dragon had a parade float so it kind of had a fan base. Sure it would be cool to see a live action version of Black Cauldron but that wouldn't change the lack of chemistry between the two main characters, the weak plot, and Gurgi! Gurgi is the Jar Jar Binks of this movie! But if they end up remaking this film, I hope it's PG-13!

I've heard rumours about a darker live action remake

Please! This would be amazing.

8 Aladdin

It's been announced that they are making a spinoff about the Genie but I hope they never remake the actual movie of Aladdin! First of all, NO ONE can replace Robin Williams! Second of all, I'm certain that a live action film of Aladdin won't provide the same humor that we were used to. But if they were to do it, they should get someone very very hot to play Jasmine!

Ughh how can they remake this movie I'm saying this is such a good movie and now they remake it like first of all the movie is great and fine aladdin was fine being a poor street rat jasmine was fine being a dreamy princess and now jafar was fine being a scary villain and now genie is fine being a funny genie so what's wrong?

They are but with Will Smith as the Genie. I'm not kidding!

They're making a live-action prequel first.

9 The Aristocats

The Aristocats is one of the worst Disney films I have ever seen! Is it worse than Hercules? Oh yes! It's worse than Hercules! At least Hercules had a better story and at least one good song! Not to mention it didn't have any singing cats in it! Aristocats was so forgettable that I barely remember anything about it! But I remember that I was very annoyed by it. It would be weird seeing CGI cats in a live action film singing and playing instruments. I'm already afraid of cats so that would give me nightmares!

I love cats. I will tell you that right now. But I do not need my 4th favorite Disney movie in CGI. I can get why Disney would do it because there are humans in the original and it is a good marketing strategy.

Okay, so I guess somebody DOES want an Aristocats remake because they've disliked everyone here. Okay dude, I deleted my comment, are you happy?

I adore this film BECAUSE its in cartoon! I on the other hand hate all the crap like air buddies and such

10 Frozen

This shouldn't even be a movie in the first place. Most overrated movie of all time.

Disney should make animated remake of this movie with different story.

They should make this one but it's too soon so no time soon.

11 Zootopia

I'm a teenager and the bezt cartoon 2 me is this film...N I love the part that the rabbit went 2 Zootopia the song was very nice...

2 new to be remade

12 Pinocchio

Pinocchio is a movie about a puppet that comes to life, makes friends with a cricket, goes to pleasure island where people smoke and get turned into donkeys (kids movie) and he gets eaten by a whale. This is not the kind of movie that I want to see remade. Don't get me wrong, the original was good but I feel like it would be very creepy if it were made into live action. The kids turn into donkeys! Insert Shrek joke here. I also don't see how they could recreated the whale scene. I feel like if they remade it, it would be similar to Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Just plain creepy. Oh wait, they actually are remaking it apparently. Oh boy.

13 Inside Out

If the director is smart, then the remake could actually be pretty good. But if they just make it predictable and boring, the I would rather keep the original movie.

What I think is that this movie is family-friendly, funny, and has a great message. I don't think this movie NEEDS a remake, but lets see how it goes.

I Guess I Could see How the Remake could Work, But This Movie was Already Amazing so Let's not mess with it
