Top 10 Disney Movies that Got Unneeded Sequels

Basically for this list, we are going to talk about Disney movies that didn't need sequels but still got one, or are getting one.
The Top Ten
1 Cars

Time to get angry! CARS DID NOT NEED A SEQUEL! I'm not saying Cars was a bad film. It was ok but definitely not worthy of a sequel! But, you know, it's Pixar. They always try their hardest with these films. EXCEPT FOR CARS 2! There was nothing good about it! ! So horrible! It is right up there with Home on the Range! The movie is about Mater becoming a spy while Lightning McQueen races in a world grand prix! That's right! Mater is the main character of the film! You're not supposed to make the comic relief character the main character! THAT NEVER WORKS! EVER! I haven't even gotten to the worst part yet! THEY ARE MAKING A CARS 3! WHY!?!? John Lasseter needs to stop! He is such an idiot for making Cars 2! I don't know why a Cars 3 is being made! I'm probably still gonna see it anyways but I'm probably not gonna like it! You suck, John Lasseter! Cars definitely didn't need a sequel and it most certainly doesn't need another one! Cars 2 is absolutely awful! Still better than Mulan 2 ...more

Why Did Disney Ruin My Childhood So Badly With Cars 2

2 Frozen

#GiveElsaAGirfriend! A couple of years ago, Frozen 2 was announced. People are either excited for it or they are boycotting it. Unlike a lot of people, I like Frozen and I even consider it as one of my favorite films. The only problem I have is, well, it's everywhere. A bunch of merchandise in the stores, children constantly singing the songs, there's a Frozen show at Disney California Adventure, and there's a ride at Epcot. Frozen is everywhere! I'm sure when Moana comes out, Disney will stop making such a big deal about it, but with a sequel, it will be everywhere again! Also, I just don't feel like we need to continue this story. I was fine with the short, Frozen Fever, because it was just about Anna's birthday and was only 7 minutes long. I don't exactly think an entire sequel can work but I don't know. Maybe it will be good.

The first film was crap, and sequels are known for beeing even worse than the sequels

3 Alice in Wonderland (2010)

This movie was hated by critics and many others, but it made a lot of money so they decided to make a sequel! I put Alice Through the Looking Glass in my predicted worst movies of 2016 list. I may have been wrong about Finding Dory, but I was definitely right about Through the Looking Glass! 29% on Rotten Tomatoes whereas the first one has 52%. Alice in Underland was an absolute disaster! The fact that they made a sequel really bothers me. I'm sure Tim Burton won't ruin anymore classic Disney films. Oh wait, he's making a live action Dumbo movie. I wonder who Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter will be playing.

I loved the first live action one but wasn't big fan of the new one

4 The Lion King

Lion Guard sucks! But that's not what we are talking about. The Lion King was given a straight-to-video sequel called Simba's Pride. I know the only reason for this sequel being made is because the first one made so much money, but the problem is, it's kind of risky making a sequel to a very popular film because it might ruin it. Lucky for them, the sequel was actually not that bad. Does that mean I'm glad they made a sequel? Not really. The first one was perfect the way it is and they should've just left it at that.

Yes... TLK doesn't deserve to exist in the first place, and The Lion Guard just makes it worse! I HATE TLG with a passion.

Timon and Pumbaa kill the franchise, I think!

5 Mary Poppins

Yep! Mary Poppins is getting a sequel in 2018! For many people, this movie was too good to get a sequel. For me, this movie was so bad that it doesn't deserve a sequel! At first I thought the new Mary Poppins movie was going to be a reboot, but it's actually a legit sequel! It's called Mary Poppins Returns. Instead of Julie Andrews, Mary Poppins will be played by Emily Blunt out of all people. Lin Manuel Miranda who you may know from the popular musical Hamilton will also be in the movie. All I'm hoping for is that Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke at least make a cameo!

While no one can compete with Mary Poppins, this was actually long awaited but never got into the works.

I disagree. Emily Blunt is a fine person for the role... and at least it's NOT EMMA WATSON.

No actress can ever beat Julie andrews

6 Mulan

With Moana coming out, it's safe to say that Mulan is no longer the hottest Disney princess. I still like her though. Mulan was such a great movie. It ended with Shang falling in love with Mulan and Mushu getting a job as Royal Guardian. So why did they make a sequel? This movie had great songs, a great story, great characters, great morals, that's what makes it a great movie. The sequel, however, forgot EVERYTHING that made the first movie so great. I didn't want a sequel since the first movie was perfect the way it was. But since they decided to make one, you would think they would at least TRY to make it good! Instead, they gave us an awful, horrendous, piece of... UGH! It is definitely one of the worst sequels to ever be made and one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Period! I still really like the original.

7 The Jungle Book

I've only seen the original Jungle Book film once and thought it was ok. I definitely didn't think it needed a sequel! Mowgli ends up in the man village and everyone is happy! I don't understand why they needed to continue the story. I never actually watched the sequel. All I know is Baloo was voiced by John Goodman, Kaa was voiced by Jim Cummings, and Shere Khan returns. The first movie had such a good ending but they just had to make a movie that takes place in the man village. Also, the live action Jungle Book movie will be getting a sequel too. That actually makes more sense since Mowgli doesn't leave the jungle.

8 Pocahontas

Well, it's better than Hercules getting a sequel. Then again, Hercules had it's own T.V. show which is even worse. Pocahontas was a very good movie. To some people. To me it sucked! I'm not saying this movie didn't deserve a sequel because I hate it, I'm saying it didn't deserve a sequel because I absolutely loved the way it ended! John Smith goes back to his town and Pocahontas looks into the distance and some amazing music plays in the background. Just as I thought, the sequel ruined it! I don't remember anything I liked about the sequel. At least I found SOME enjoyable things in the first movie. But definitely not the part where Pocahontas learns English from THE WIND!

No way did they make a sequel.

9 Teen Beach Movie

Teen Beach Movie is about two teens who end up inside a fictional movie and they need to find a way out or else they will fade out of existence. While in the movie, they are forced to keep singing and constantly end up in terrible musical numbers. Sounds like a sequel worthy movie! UGH! The fact that this movie was actually popular enough to get a sequel really scares me. What scares me more is that the sequel was surprisingly better than the first movie. It was still very awful but I actually found it more tolerable. I don't understand why they would make a sequel to such a stupid movie that makes no sense at all, but at least they tried to put effort into the second one.

I'd rather put up with all three High School Musical movies than a sequel to an already generic and unoriginal movie.

10 Finding Nemo

It was a great movie, it could've had a good sequel, if only it didn't use the same plot as the original, it sucks. Disney is just raking in cash from fans, and are wasting their lives on crap, I hate this movie.

The Contenders
11 Planes

I watched Planes 2 with a bunch of friends just for fun and, although I know it's a kids film, it was so boring, had a poor story and wasn't even entertaining for kids

This one is top 10 material. It was already a bad film, but Disney just had to be a bunch of little pricks and release a sequel anyways

I feel bad that one of my favorite stand-up comedians, Gabriel Iglesias, had to be a voice actor in this movie.

All about this derpy plane I don't even know why they mad planes in the first place

12 Beauty and the Beast
13 The Hunchback of Notre Dame

I absolutely love this movie! It's dark, it's emotional, it's just so awesome! Too bad they had to ruin it with a sequel. This movie had such a happy ending. Frollo dies, Esmaralda gets a boyfriend, and Quasimodo becomes a hero. There wasn't much of a reason for a sequel to be made. Except for the fact that they wanted to give Quasimodo a girlfriend. And then, as we all know, the sequel was terrible! I honestly think the first one was good enough so they should've just left it alone.
