Top 10 Best Disney Movies and Video Games with Mickey Mouse

Happy 89th birthday, Mickey! It’s kind of weird that he is the main mascot of Disney yet doesn’t have his own theatrical movie. Still, he has made appearances in movies. So in honor of his birthday, I made a list of the best movies that Mickey has appeared in! But since there aren’t enough movies to fill up a top 10 list, I’ve decided to include video games as well. So here are the best movies and video games Mickey Mouse has appeared in!
The Top Ten
1 Fantasia

Fantasia is without a doubt the best Disney movie ever! One of my favorite segments in the movie is the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. In which Mickey uses Yen Sid’s hat to bring brooms to life. It is very hilarious and very entertaining. This is something that a lot of people find memorable about Fantasia. Even the people who hate the movie. Seriously. Why do people hate this movie? Were they expecting it to have a plot? Each segment has a story and they’re told through music and animation without the use of dialogue. Not every movie has to have a plot to be good! I also find it ironic that my favorite movie relies on segments and my least favorite movie also relies on segments. Anyway, pretty much everyone can agree that the Sorcerer’s Apprentice is very enjoyable. Unlike that live action adaptation. And there’s a possibility that they might be making a live action adaptation of Night on Bald Mountain. Oh boy.

This is undeniably the greatest Disney film with Mickey Mouse. I love how he appears as a Sorcerer’s Apprentice in both of the Fantasia films and in 2000 he has a little cut scene looking for Donald for his part in Noah’s Ark, it just gets us all laughing. Mickey Mouse is a great character for any type of genre, especially magical things like Fantasia.

2 Epic Mickey

Epic Mickey is my favorite Disney video game! I’ve played this hundreds of times. When I first played it, I didn’t get the good ending. Well I mean, not the entire good ending. But after playing it a few more times, I understood it a little more and managed to get the happy ending. There are tons of quests that need to be completed such as receiving parts to rebuild the robotic versions of Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. It can be a little hard to find all of those pieces. Still, I love this game! It relies on a lot of nostalgia but still manages to have a great story and it’s funny having to battle the blot monsters. Barely anyone knew who Oswald was before this came out, but now he’s become kind of popular again. I love the way Mickey travels to different areas. He goes through projection screens that showcase old shorts. The game did get a sequel and even though it’s not as great as the first one, it’s still very fun to play. Epic Mickey is definitely a great game.

A great franchise

3 Kingdom Hearts

It goes without saying that Kingdom Hearts is an awesome game. It’s debatably one of the best games ever created. I love the dark atmosphere it has. I love that it takes us into multiple Disney related worlds. The way they are incorporated into the game is just perfect! Mickey is shown to be a much more awesome character in this. We see a side of him that we’ve never seen before. The only problem I have is the voice acting. Mickey always talks in such awkward tones and it makes it hard to believe what’s happening in the game. This isn’t Wayne Allwine’s best performance as Mickey. This is a great game. No doubt about it. I honestly didn’t think I was gonna like it since it’s practically anime in the form of a Disney video game. However, it actually managed to be good. I enjoyed playing it.

4 Kingdom Hearts II

After the amazingness that was Kingdom Hearts, they decided to make a sequel to the game. And it is just as awesome! Every single character is great in this. Sora, Riku, Kairi, they’re all so great! Mickey Mouse, again, shows us how awesome he can be! Oh, and Pirates of the Caribbean is in this game! That automatically makes it awesome! The villains are also great! Ursula is in it, Maleficent is in it, Jafar is in it, even Oogie Boogie is in it! Also, Mulan is in it! And as you may know, she’s my favorite Disney princess! So yeah, this game is awesome. If you loved the first one, you will love this one. I am so excited for Kingdom Hearts III.

Another KH hater? Well you have your opinion but to say that it's the truth is a stretch because in my opinion, this game is awesome.

KH is not a good series and this game is easily the worst of all. I am sorry, but that is the truth.

I should have known you'd leave a hate comment here...

5 Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers
6 Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas

If you love Christmas, then you will love this movie. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas shows us how the original Disney characters celebrate the holidays. They do it in such a hilarious way! One segment features Huey, Dewey, and Louie reliving Christmas over and over again. It’s basically like Groundhog Day but it’s done a lot better than Happy Death Day. The next one is about Goofy and Max trying to find out if Santa is real or not. It’s easily the most hilarious of the segments. And the last one features Mickey and Minnie recreating the Gift of the Magi. Each segment does a perfect job of capturing the spirit of Christmas. And that’s why I love it.

Very heartwarming and hilarious at the same time.

7 Who Framed Roger Rabbit

I think it goes without saying that the scene with Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny skydiving is brilliant. Seeing two iconic mascots from two different studios interacting was something I’ve always wanted to see. Mickey only appears in two scenes in the movie. The skydiving scene and the ending. He doesn’t do much in the ending, but the scene with him and Bugs Bunny is so funny to watch. It’s probably the only thing Mickey appears in that isn’t targeted towards children. It came out at a time when PG actually meant something. I love this movie and I love that Mickey and Bugs scene!

I love this movie

8 Mickey’s House of Villains

I loved this. Please bring the House of Mouse back!

9 Fantasia 2000
10 Disney's House of Mouse

I loved the House of mouse so much! I wish it would come back!

The Contenders
11 Fun and Fancy Free

There are two segments in this movie. And one of them is Jack and the Beanstalk which stars Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. This is actually the last thing to feature Walt Disney as the voice of Mickey. The Jack and the Beanstalk segment is definitely the highlight of the movie. I’ve always loved Jack and the Beanstalk and putting these iconic Disney characters in the story makes it a lot more comedic. The giant is pretty funny and of course Mickey and his friends are funny. However, I feel like this would’ve worked better if it wasn’t in a movie. The movie only consists of two segments, the other one involving a bear, and there’s a transition involving a weird puppet. Also, Jiminy Cricket doesn’t really add much. Still, I thought it was pretty cute and enjoyable.

12 Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas

Yeah. A lot of people hate this movie. I thought it was okay, though. I do agree that it didn’t need to be made. The first one was good enough but this one felt like a cash grab. The animation is horrible! There are too many segments! Some of the characters can be pretty unlikeable as well. However, I still thought it was pretty funny at times. I also really loved the ice skating segment. The Pluto segment can also be pretty heartwarming. This isn’t a great movie by any means, but I don’t consider it a bad one.

Not as good as the original but still not horrible by any means. My biggest problem with it has to be how the characters are so unlikeable at times.
