Best Disney Post Renaissance Movies

Everybody remembers the remarkable Renaissance Disney era when they produced hit after great hit. Well, this was an era where Disney was going a much different route and not nearly as successful as they hoped (1999-2008). Sure Pixar kept on making great classics by this point on. These Disney movies were either fairly good or were just flat-out forgettable. Seeing this was the period I remember vividly recalled well. Let’s go through these and go back to memory lane of the 2000's Post-Renaissance era of Disney.
The Top Ten
1 The Emperor's New Groove

This was a movie that was not trying to take itself seriously as a traditional Disney movie would. This movie straight up was going to be for laughs. I say it is nearly the perfect choice that fits the theme of the voices. Yzma is very ruthless in finishing off Kuzco in any way while having the henchman who steals her thunder at times in Kronk. Very entertaining movie that spawned a decent TV show based on this.

I quite enjoyed this old movie and have watched it multiple times, it never gets old, though I didn't think it was as well-known as, say, Lilo and Stitch. Great list!

2 Lilo & Stitch

I can always have a great time and enjoy myself. Lilo & Stitch was that next huge hit at the time. There was nothing like it at the time. Experiment 626 escapes dropping down to earth finding friends along the way. This becomes a regular occurrence gaining a TV show. If there was a movie that I'd say is up there among the all-time best in this era of Disney. I could see an argument for Lilo & Stitch to be made.

I love lilo and stitch such a good story with good characters it's so underrated

3 Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Atlantis is the most different of all of these Disney movies so far. The theme feels cool and adventure like sure. It feels way more like an Adult oriented Disney flick to me. You have strong dynamic characters in this one. The meshing is better than our last entry. While a very weak villain with a reason for greed. It does nake up for being better than what I had thought of it as just a so-so film. Maybe critics missed a bit of the underrated aspects in this one. Taking a risk going from something safe (Buddy Buddy Comedy) to this (Adult feel of an adventure) was very interesting, to say the least.

4 Treasure Planet

Treasure Planet feels like an interesting concept. Only it was based on an old novel of what feels like centuries ago. Hence this sci-fi fictional setting is one that took a unique path with strong dynamic characters found here. Going on a thrill ride to grab the ultimate treasure. This was a period where Disney felt the need to go from famous myths. This was the last one to do so.

5 Meet the Robinsons

Easily the best of the 3D animated movies on here. Meet The Robinsons has a great story of a boy who jumps between Past, Present, and future. Eventually discovers that it relates to what could happen to Lewis. The movie also brings up both the comical and serious villains wrapped into one with a fairly entertaining family led by Franny. Over time it feels like it fads for being in those decline years, but it was watchable with what they had to offer previously were not very good.

6 Bolt

Another movie I find forgettable, but this one did try a lot more for being the last one of this era. I can get behind the idea of having a cat and dog world perspective with Bolt. The glory days of John Travolta were way past by this point. He is good enough to get a liking as the main protagonist here as if feels like a vintage movie of his even though it isn't one you would think of if you guessed any of his movies at first glance.

7 Brother Bear

I found Brother Bear to be largely forgettable despite there being a sequel. I could not recall much other than the story became heavily influenced by a later Pixar movie Brave. I usually like the tunes Phil Collins does but here. I could not think of one that stood out in this journey to transform the one brother back to a human.

8 Fantasia 2000

A big disappointment in comparison to the original. There were some musical segments I did enjoy regardless of how it was overall. The celebrity guest cameos were unnecessary. It almost felt like a documentary many times watching it. Bringing it down from being a good sequel to subpar at best.

9 Dinosaur

Starting this list off with a rather weird entry. Dinosaur is one of those very bizarre looking very outdated movies where you realize the idea of execution feels off when rewatching it as time goes on. Take out the talking, and you could have a story like this of what these legendary creatures do that would have been more fascinating. Differing from a weird-looking animation meets stilled picture that looks as if it came from a google image or go with a bad-looking jump into 3D animation 5 years later.

10 Valiant

The better of the two Disney movies that came out in 2005. Very WWII-inspired with British humor, it fits here with the tone I liked. It’s a fairly decent kid-friendly attempt to make it feel like a war movie with some big names voiced in the mix.
