Best Disney Renaissance Movies

Today I'm ranking the films of Disney's Renaissance Era from best to worst. This is my own opinion, so no bashing.
The Top Ten
1 Beauty and the Beast

First animated film to get nominated for best picture

2 The Lion King

The #1 greatest Disney film of all time. For years we were all singing the songs, quoting the characters, and drawing the scenes. The animation, music, and characters are among Disney's greatest, if not the best.

I like, I like, I do not bother

3 Aladdin

RIP Robin Williams. Your performance in this film is the funniest Disney's put out.

4 The Little Mermaid

After 2 decades of the Disney Dark Age, this movie saved the company with a refreshing return to songs, princesses, fairy tales, and animal sidekicks.

5 The Hunchback of Notre Dame

It's very dark and religious for a Disney film, and they could've chosen lighter source material. But it's still a good film with memorable characters and animation.

Frollo was never the real judge

One of my personal favorites

6 Mulan

One of Disney's greatest films, period. Mulan is the best Disney princess because she's the strongest and most impactful. Despite living in a society where women are executed for defying gender roles, she still manages to outperform her male colleagues, defeat an entire army singlehandedly, and save all of China.

If we're talking laugh, this wins

7 Hercules

Way overhated. Sure the gospel music, caricature animation, and Superman origin plot completely deviated from the ancient Greek sources, but these elements of the film are still awesome.

8 Tarzan

The Renaissance ended on a high note. The songs are some of the best Disney's created, and the 2D animation somehow looks far better than most modern 3D films.

9 The Rescuers Down Under

The most underrated Disney film ever. People forget that this was part of the early Renaissance. Why do people remember the boring, forgettable 1st Rescuers instead of this one? I tell you the animation and music are amazing, just look at the "Cody's Flight" scene.

I always wanted Bernard and Miss Bianca to have children of their own. How about you?

10 Pocahontas

Why does everyone hate this film? The songs and animation are among some of Disney's greatest. It also depicts in brutal honesty the ethnocentrism, greed, and militarism that fueled European colonization of the Americas.
