Top 10 Dog Breeds with Corded or Curly Coats
I. Corded coatCorded coat is one of the most unique types of coat. Corded coats on dogs are like... dreadlocks on people. So we have doggy dreadlocks. These dog breeds also comically resemble a mop (in a nice way!)
To develop cords, a dog breed must have the right length and texture of the coat.
There are 2 types of breeds with corded coats:
1) born with a corded coat ("true Rastafarians") - Puli, Komondor, Bergamasco
2) born with a coat that can be morphed into dreadlocks, i.e. corded-like coat for showing ("wannabe Rastafarians") - Poodle, Havanese, Spanish Water Dog
II. Curly Coat
Corded and curly coats are different because not all curly coats are corded but some curly coats can be turned into dreadlocks.
Shortly, these 2 types of coat are different but similar.
