Top Ten Emo Albums According to Rolling Stone

I must say... I'm very positively surprised. Rolling Stone didn't pick the obvious and most popular records, but actually those that had the biggest influence on the scene, and are most important in its development from underground to mainstream. I am pretty sure most modern emos don't know any albums off the top ten other than number 9 and 10, which have every right to be on the list because they introduced emo to a much wider audience (apart from the fact that they are great albums). Number one is well deserved, having formed the very essence of everything that followed afterwards.

Overall, I am stunned about so much insight from Rolling Stone.
The Top Ten
1 Diary - Sunny Day Real Estate
2 Rites of Spring - Rites of Spring
3 Nothing Feels Good - The Promise Ring
4 Dear You - Jawbreaker
5 Frame and Canvas - Braid
6 American Football - American Football
7 Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports... - Cap'n Jazz
8 Bleed American - Jimmy Eat World

I will switch this album with Clarity, since Clarity has actual emo sound while this is too poppy to be considered emo

9 From Under the Cork Tree - Fall Out Boy
10 Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge - My Chemical Romance
